ARMSTRONG, DOROTHY "JEAN" - age 54, of Mascot, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, April 7 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. A beloved wife and mother, Mrs. Armstrong was a native of Knox County and a member of Roseberry Baptist Church in Mascot, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Hazel Mingie. She is survived by her loving family, husband, Mr. Boyd Armstrong of Mascot; son, Boyd (Buddy) Armstrong, Jr. of Mascot; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Darryl Marlow of Nashville; daughter, Teresa Armstrong of Mascot; brothers, L.E. Mingie, Jr., Bob Mingie, Fred Mingie and Paul Mingie, all of Knoxville; one sister, Betty McNabb of Evansville, Indiana. He was a member of the Alcoa 25 Year Club, and was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. He was an avid golfer winning tournaments in the 1940's and 50's.
