She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and retired from Hamilton National Bank. Preceded in death by husband, Stephen M. Johnson; parents, George Arthur and Osie Mae Altom; and brother, Noel Altom.

Grooms, Thomas Caylor, age 79, formerly of Knoxville, died at his residence on Tuesday, August 13, 2002, in Decatur, Alabama. He was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, Decatur, Alabama; the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. He was retired from the Army Missile Command, Marshal Space Flight Center, Huntsville, Alabama and was a World War II Air Force veteran. He is predeceased by his parents, Mr. Ennis Bafford Grooms and Mrs. Bessie Grooms Roach, both of Sevier County, Tennessee.

His wife of 55 years, Margaret M. Grooms; daughter, Pamela; son-in-law, Forrest; and grandsons, Dan and Greg Martino, all of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Mildred Grooms of Decatur; nieces, Charlene Low Namie, Susan D. He loved to play the bass fiddle and the bass guitar. In the past, he played the bass guitar with the Chordsmen Quartet and the Ken Apple Family Singers. He was preceded in death by wife, Mable Taylor; parents, John and Daisy Taylor; sister, Palestine Jones.

Taylor, Mable DeBusk, age 75 of South Knoxville, passed away Friday, August 17, 2001 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a member of Central Church of God and has recently been attending South Knoxville Church of God. She was pianist in several area churches over the last many years and had served as organist and soloist for Weaver Funeral Home for many years. In years past, she had sung with The Taylor Trio. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, Elisha and Zola DeBusk and sister, Geraldine DeBusk.

Robinson, Thomas Gerald “Jerry”, age 79, of South Knoxville, passed away Saturday September 18, 2004, at U.T. Hospital. He was a member of Laurel Church of Christ, Army Veteran of World War II, a graduate of the University of Tennessee, a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity, and a member of the Quarterback Club. Mr. Robinson was an electrical engineer and worked at Robertshaw Fulton, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority. He was preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Edna Robinson.
