She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Haaby, a former University of Tennessee Professor; brother, Arlow Syverud; sister, Connie Johnson.

Daughter and son-in-law, Kaydell and Stanley Wrinkle, of Acworth, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Pam Haaby, of Townsend, TN, daughter and son-in-law, DeAnn and Bill O’Dell, Midlothian, VA; six grandchildren, Kirsten Alongi of Acworth, GA, Kim Waller of Duluth, MI, Kelley O’Dell, Arlington, VA, Jennifer Hasnani, Murphy, NC, Brad O’Dell of Chicago, IL, Erick Haaby of Knoxville, TN; two great grandchildren, Matthew Alongi and Madison Hasnani. Her purpose in life was to be a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who knew her ---- “And She Was”.

He retired from Rohm & Haas in 1979 with 30 years service. He was with the U.S. Army serving during World War II in the South Pacific. Preceeded in death by parents Lee and Martha Johnson, two sisters and one brother.

Mayfield, Pat, age 70, of Knoxville and White Pine, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2003. Pat was born icon November 10, 1933 in Knoxville. After graduating from Young High School in 1952, Pat attended the University of Tennessee and received a business degree in 1954. He began working for Fraker Heating and Air and later worked for Bondurant Brothers. In 1968, Pat founded Kitchen Sales with Bill Simpson and Wib Davis and in 1986 became the sole owner of Kitchen Sales Inc. Under Pat’s leadership, Kitchen Sales became a leading wholesaler in the Kitchen and Bath industry. Pat was a member of Colonial Heights United Methodist Church and in more recent years had been attending First Baptist Church, Dandridge. He was also a member of the South Knoxville Masonic Lodge 769 F & AM and the Oriental Lodge 453 F & AM. Pat was active in the Knoxville Home Builders Association. One of Pat’s great joys was coaching the New Prospect Softball Team in the 1970’s and leading them to several state championships. Pat was a devoted supporter of the Tennessee VOLS. Preceded in death by parents, Lenorad and Eva Mayfield; infant twin brothers, Mackey and Edward Mayfield; brothers, Andy, Clint and Jewel Atchley; and grandson, Daxton Burkhart.

Survived by wife of 22 years, Ramona Henderson Mayfield and former wife, Sherry Knott Timm; Daughter and Son-In-Law, Mary Pat and Billy Burkhart; Sons and Daughters-In-Law, Chris and Kathy Mayfield and Bryan and Pam Keith; son, David Keith; grandchildren, Kristi and Patrick Mayfield, Logan and Haley Burkhart, Georgia Lee, Bryan Jr., Thomas and Andrew Keith; great granddaughter, Adaria Mayfield; devoted twin brother, Jack Mayfield and wife Barbara; nephew, Jason Von Mayfield and wife Mandy; and his devoted family at Kitchen Sales.

Gregory, Don H., age 62, a life long graduate of Knoxville, passed away Sunday morning, November 16, 2003 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. Don is a direct descendant of the Gregory Family of Cade’s Cove in the Smokey Mountain National Park. He was a 1959 graduate of Young High School. Don is a member of Gospel Baptist Church. He was a former employee of the Knoxville News Sentinel, State Highway Department and retired form TVA. Preceded in death by parents, Wesley Herman and Retta Carrier Gregory; brother, Jerry Gregory and niece, Melanie Gregory.

Survived by sons, Donald and David Gregory; brother, Owen Gregory and wife Gail; former wife and friend, Evelyn Phillips; nieces, Laurie Gregory and Renee Gregory-Love and nephew, Brett Gregory.

McCachren, David Downs, age 94, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at UT Hospital. Retired from S&W Cafeteria after 40 years of faithful service. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church. Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps having served during World War II in England, Belgium and the United States. Mr. McCachren was considered as one of the famed “Four Captain McCachrens” at the University of North Carolina where he was a 1934 graduate and was inducted into the Southern Conference Basketball Hall of Fame. Preceded in death by wife, Myrtle Whittle McCachren; eight brothers and sisters.
