Pete Sain Sr

Pete Sain Sr., age 90, passed away Saturday January 4, 2003 at his residence.

Mr. Sain was born January 24, 1912 in Coffee County, TN.

The son of the late John Casper and Mattie Fletcher Sain.

In 1933 he and his brother, J.D. Sain began Sain Construction Company in Summitville. Following receipt of this contractor's license, in 1953, Sain Construction in Manchester evolved and has left a legacy of numerous churches and businesses in the area. He was a member of the Summitville Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Juanita Wooten Sain in 1970, four brothers, J.D. Sain, Polk Sain, Herman Sain and Tad Sain, and two sisters, Lurine Shelton and Jeneva Sutherland.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Dolores Stubblefield of Summitville,
Children, Paula (Donald) Keele of Manchester, Pete (Irene) Sain, Jr., of Manchester, Jimmy Sain, Manchester, Sandy Sain of Nashville and Judy Shettleworth of Manchester, step-children, Rodney (Joyce) Wright of Viola, Karen (James) Jones of McMinnville and Belinda Grissom of McMinnville,
12 Grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren
Three half brothers, Leo Sain of Manchester, Dewayne Sain and Joe Sain both of Alabama and two half sisters, Pauline Harmon of Manchester and Lois Sanders of Gardendale, AL

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Highland Rim Chapter, P.O. Box 1004 Tullahoma, TN 37388.

Walter Sain

Walter Sain, age 74, of Manchester, died March 31, 2003

Mr. Sain was preceded in death by his parents, Arnie and Irene Sain; two brothers, Herbert Sain and Edwin Sain; and one sister, Marilyn Sain.

He is survived by his wife, Nettie Ruth Banks Sain; one daughter, Mary Ann (Barry) Holder; one grandson, Tyson Holder; one step grandson, Dustin (Jeanette) Holder; two step great grandchildren, Natasha and Donovan Holder; one sister, Cordelia Ramsey; two brothers, Grady Sain and Leonard Sain; and numerous nieces and nephews..

Burial will follow in Blanton's Chapel cemetery.

Manchester Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Lee Webber Sallee
Date of Birth: Thursday February 17, 1916
Date of Death: Monday November 25, 2002

Dorothy Lee Webber Sallee, age 85, a resident of Manchester died Monday morning at Harton Regional Medical Center. She was born February 18, 1917 in Rochester, KY the daughter of the late Lannie Lee and Maude Westerfield Webber. She was a homemaker and is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Sallee.

She is survived by four children, James "Jim" Sallee of Langston, AL, Jane Trail of Manchester, Gary Sallee of Fyffe, AL and Joel Sallee of Hoganville, GA, 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Burial will follow services at Ivy Bluff cemetery.

Mark Timothy Sanders

Mark Timothy Sanders, age 35, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2002 at the Coffee County Medical Center.

Mark is preceded in death my a brother: Steven Dale Sanders.

He is survived by his parents: Marshall & Pauline Sanders,

2 sisters: Marsha Clark and Helen Roulett.

1 brother: Danny Lee Sanders.

Burial will be in the Bethany cemetery.

Pauline Sanders

Pauline Sanders, age 75, of Decherd, died March 5, 2003

Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Williams and Rosa Rogers; one daughter, Helen Roulett; and two sons, Steven Dale Sanders and Mark Timothy Sanders.

She is survived by her husband, Marshall Sanders of Decherd;

one daughter, Marsha Clark of Decherd;
one son, Danny Lee Sanders of Manchester;
eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren;

one brother, Johnny Rogers of Manchester; and one half sister, Lear Branch of Winchester.

Burial will follow in Bethany cemetery.

Hubert Marshall Sanders

Hubert Marshall Sanders, age 74, a resident of Decherd, TN passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at Life Care Center of Tullahoma. He was born September 7, 1928 in Bedford County, TN the son of the late Hubert and Frances Sanders. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons, Stephen Dale Sanders and Mark Timothy Sanders and a daughter, Helen Roulett.

He was a retired custodian for Bell Aire Elementary and a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Burial will follow services at Bethany cemetery and Brother Donnie Cox will officiate services.

Survivors include a daughter, Marsha Clark of Decherd, a son, Danny Lee Sanders of Manchester, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Joy Perry of San Antonio, Texas.

Clayton Paul Sanders

CLAYTON PAUL SANDERS - Died December 3, 2004 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of Alma (Sweeton) Sanders for 61 years. Loving father of Barbara (Dennis) Romanski of Warren, Michigan, Paul E. (Terry) Sanders of Troy, Michigan and Steve (Debbie) Sanders of Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Born April 24, 1920 in Palmer, Tennessee the son of the late Jay H. Sanders and Veda Burrows Sanders. Great-great grandson of Revolutionary Soldier and Pelham Valley pioneer, Solomon Sanders. Also great-great grandson of Grundy County pioneers John Burrows and William Dugan. He was a brother of Wayne S. Sanders, Ray H. Sanders and the late H. D. Sanders, all of the Cleveland, Ohio area, and Josephine Coppinger of Tracy City, Tennessee. Dear grandfather of eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

He grew up in Grundy County, Tennessee worked in the Civilian Conservation Corp (C. C. C.) and then served in the US Army’s 771st Tank destroyers in WWII. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star, resident of Hazel Park, Michigan for 26 years, and retired as a toolmaker for Chrysler Warren Truck after 21 years. He then moved to Manchester, Tennessee in 1986 where he and Alma resided for 17 years. He then became a member of the First Baptist Church of Hillsboro. He served as Past Master and lifetime member of the Hazel Park Masonic Lodge and lifetime member and several terms as Patron of the O. E. S. in Michigan and Tennessee. He was a former member of the Moslem Shrine Motor Corporation.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 5, 2004 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and also from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 6, 2004 at the Coffee County Funeral Chapel at 11:30 am with Brother Bob Ruehling officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Bernie Ralph Scalf

Bernie Ralph Scalf age 67, formerly of Washington County, TN and currently residing with his daughter in Woodbury, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2004 at Baptist DeKalb Hospital in Smithville.

He was born March 27, 1936 in Washington County, TN the son of the late James Garfield and Mary Scalf. In earlier years, he was a farmer and was a United States Air Force veteran. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Allie Ellen Scalf, a daughter, Janice Sue Williams, a granddaughter, Rose Marie Scalf and several brothers.

Survivors include his three daughters, Barbara Ann Williams, Brenda L. Mathis, and Rosetta Jacobs, two sons, Kenneth Ray Scalf and James Garfield Scalf, 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a brother, Tex Scalf.

Burial will follow services at Zion Hill cemetery and Brother Benny Benjamin will officiate services.

Edwin Scheer

Edwin Scheerage, 81, a resident of Manchester, passed away Monday, October 27, 2003 at Manchester Health Care. He was born March 29, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York. he was a retired Federal Postal worker and was a United States Army veteran.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Scheer.

Survivors include a niece, Debbie (Chuck) Bancheek of Tullahoma and great-nieces, Samantha Bancheek and Destiny Bancheek all of Tullhoma and a devoted friend, Betty Bancheek also of Tullahoma.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Coffee County Humane Society.

Brother Benny Benjamin will officiate graveside services at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Carol Davis Scott

Carol Davis Scott, age 67, a resident of Manchester, formerly of Woodbury, TN passed away Saturday, March 6, 2004 at United Regional Medical Center. She was born February 13, 1937 in Pocahontas, TN the daughter of the late Roscoe Carold Davis and Bertha Opal Tenpenny Davis. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Brown Scott.

Mrs. Scott was a Practical Nurse at Stones River Hospital for several years and a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ.

Survivors include her brother, Noel Davis of Manchester, sister, Faye Frampton of Cincinnati, Ohio and brother, Billy J. Davis of Centerville, TN and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Kidney Foundation.

Brother Herb Alsup will officiate services and burial will follow at Midway cemetery.

Myrtle Ellen Webb Sekulich

Myrtle Ellen Webb Sekulich, age 69, of Manchester, died December 16, 2002

Mrs. Sekulich was preceded in death by her parents, George Howard Webb and Grace Henerietta Manchester Webb. She is survived by her husband, Alex J. Sekulich of Manchester; four sons, Chip Sekulich of Brunswick, GA, Andy Sekulich of Hillsboro, Tony Sekulich of Tullahoma, and Roy Sekulich of Manchester; three sisters, Alberta Webb of Danbury, CT, Irma Frasca of Darien, CT, and Grace Peterson of Lakeworth, FL; ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Methodist cemetery.

Coffee County Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Brenda Faye Sells

Brenda Faye Sells, age 58, of Manchester

Mrs. Sells was preceded in death by her parents, Fielding and Nora Geneva Bolin Smith.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Tammy Bruza and Sherri Campbell, 2 sons, Anthony Sells and Stephen Sells.

6 grandchildren, 3 aunts, Bobbie Howard, Agnes Bolin and Lula Bolin, 1 uncle, Cecil Bolin, also of Crossville.

Manchester Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sarah Alice Shannon

Sarah Alice Lemons Shannon, age 81, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. She was born July 28, 1923 in Coffee County, TN the daughter of the late James Fred and Jessie Mae Jones Lemons. She was retired from PCA after 32 years of devoted service, and she was also a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Shannon, a son, James Robert Shannon, Jr., and a son-in-law, Bobby Eugene Gillette and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include:
Daughter: Mary Frances Gillette of McMinnville
Daughter-in-law: Rosie Shannon of Manchester
3 Grandchildren: Jack & Elaine Howard of McMinnville
Trisha Gillette & Budgie Mullican
Greg and Crystal Gillette of McMinnville

Burial will follow in Welker cemetery.

Thomas Elvin Shavers

Thomas Elvin Shavers, Sr., age 62, of Manchester, died April 15, 2003

Mr. Shavers was preceded in death by his parents, Kale Elvin and Willie B. Merritt Shavers.

He is survived by his wife, Selma Louise Shavers of Manchester;

one daughter, Michelle Cantrell of Manchester;

one son, Thomas E. Shavers, Jr., of Corinth, MS;

four grandchildren, Kaytlyn Paige Shavers, Victoria Leigh Shavers, Jonathan Kale Shavers, and Jessica Brooks Shavers;

three brothers, Ronnie Shavers of Lynchburg, Michael Shavers of Hendersonville, and Larry Shavers of Shelbyville.

Burial will follow in the Hebron Church of Christ cemetery, Warren County.

The family asks that donations be made to the Multi-County Cancer Support Network.
