Ruby Mae Jacobs, age 85, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at the United Regional Medical Center Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Ferrell and Cedeley Baltimore Ferrell, a homemaker, a longtime devoted member of Noah Church of Christ and a member of the Coffee County Rescue Squad.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Hall M. Jacobs, who passed away January 22, 2003; four brothers, Thurman Ferrell, Joe Ferrell, Jesse Ferrell, and James William Ferrell; two sisters, Rauzy Swoape and Gladys Simmons.

She is survived by three sons, Horace Lee (Carolyn) Jacobs of Lynchburg, James Edward (Linda) Jacobs of Prairie Plains, Samuel Glenn (Marlene) Jacobs of Shelbyville; daughter, Dorothy "Dot" Qualls of Normandy; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson, J. C. Harlow; several nieces and nephews; two sisters, Eula McCullough of Beech Grove, Alice Howland of Manchester.

Burial will be in the Gnat Hill cemetery with Brother Byron Lawrence and Brother Tommy Underwood officiating.

Alroe Harding Jaggers

Alroe Harding Jaggers, age 83, of Manchester passed away Saturday at the VA Medical Center Nursing Home in Murfreesboro. Burial will follow services at Hillsboro Memorial cemetery.

Mr. Jaggers was a WWII veteran, a retired federal employee and a member of the First Baptist Church of Manchester.

Mr. Jaggers is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Timothy Willis Jaggers.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Betty Willis Jaggers of Manchester; daughter, Patricia (Bruce) Jaggers Manthe; grandsons, Jeffrey Martin Manthe and Mark Stephen Manthe all of Oakton, Virginia.

June F. Jarrell

June F. Jarrell, age 80, a resident of Manchester, TN passed away Friday, April 25, 2003 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville after a brief illness. She was born June 9, 1922 in Ohio. She was employed in earlier years as an administrative assistant and was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by a son, Robert Marvin Jarrell of Nashville and a sister, Greta Damon of Louisville, TX and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Coffee County Central High School Scholarship Fund in Memory of June Jarrell, 2135 New Tullahoma Hwy, Manchester, TN 37355.

Mary E. Jarrell

Mary E. Jarrellage 85, a resident of Manchester, passed away Friday, October 31, 2003 at her daughter's residence in Nashville. She was born October 30, 1918 in Coldwater, TN the daughter of the late Floyd and Anna Velma Petty Eslick. She was a homemaker and a member of Mud Creek Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Jarrell.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenna and Dale Carroll and Anna and Mark Niggeler, two grandchildren and spouses, Scott and Angela Stacey, and Chad and LeAnn Stacey, two great-grandchildren, Catherine Annalise Stacey and Jillian Leigh Stacey, two sisters, Mabel Crabtree and Nadine Foster and devoted special caregiver, Susie Bean.

Brother Benny Benjamin and Rev. Barry Phelps will officiate services and burial will follow at Shady Grove cemetery.

T. Arthur Jenkins, age 83, of Manchester died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003 at Harton Regional Medical Center in Tullahoma. Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Arthur Jenkins, Sr., and Nell Bridges Jenkins. He is survived by three daughters, Sara Jenkins of Tullahoma, Amelia Seid of Gainesville, GA, and Kimberly Jenkins of Augusta, GA; two sons, John Jenkins of Flagstaff, AZ, and Thomas Jenkins of Cookeville, TN; numerous grandchildren; and loving devoted friends.

Margaret Oliver Jenkins

Margaret Oliver Jenkins age 60, a resident of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2003 at the Medical Center of Manchester.

She was born November 29, 1943 in Grundy County, TN the daughter of the late Johnny Oliver and Lorene Sanders King Oliver. She was a member of the Tullahoma Ward of jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Jenkins and a sister, Salena Partin.

Survivors include her son, Shawn Derrick Booker of Hillsboro, sister, Pam King of Beersheba Springs, TN and a brother, Paul Oliver also of Beersheba Springs.

The family asks that donations be made to the Coffee County Sheriff's Department Children's Christmas Fund.

Bishop Jay Mott will officiate services and burial will follow at Hillsboro Memorial cemetery.

Wesley B. Jernigan

Wesley B. Jernigan, age 83, a resident of Tullahoma, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2003 at his residence. He was born July 3, 1920 in Coffee County, the son of the late William Alexander and Mary Ann Brown Jernigan. He was employed at Tennessee Tannery for many years and retired in 1982 and then opened and operated J & S Machine Shop for many years. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church since 1961 where he served as a Deacon. He was a United States Army/Air Corp veteran having served during WWII in the European Theater where he received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star as well as other decorations. He also was a member of the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jernigan is preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Ione Jernigan and two sisters and six brothers.

Survivors include his loving wife, Helen Sutherland Payne Jernigan of Tullahoma, two sons, Richard Wesley Jernigan and Larry Allen Jernigan both of Tullahoma, three grandchildren, Richard Wesley Jernigan, Ryan Jernigan and Lori Snow, three great-grandchildren, step-children, William Payne of Manchester, Webster Payne and Steve Payne both of Tullahoma and Louise Grammer of Lynchburg, 7 step-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren and a sister, Sarah Norris.

Burial will follow services at New Reddens Chapel cemetery and Rev. Keith Shelton and Brother Danny Anderson will officiate services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Concord Baptist Church.

Fred E. Johns

Fred E. Johns, age 84, a resident of Manchester, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at his residence. He was born July 24, 1919 in Athens, Alabama the son of the late Tom and Martha Johns. He was retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company where he was employed as a General Inspector. He was a member of Wartrace Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Johns of Manchester, son, Bud Johns of Manchester, grandchildren, Michael Johns and Tera Johns.

Brother Jamie Bone will officiate services.

Burial will follow at Fredonia cemetery.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Wartrace Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Johns.

Arthur Louis Johnson

Arthur Louis Johnson, age 59, of Manchester, died September 30, 2002

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Lue Brame Johnson and by a brother, Charles Johnson.

He is survived by his father, Edmond Johnson, his wife, Marie "Lila" Baugh Johnson,

5 sons, Louis Johnson, Scotty and Jeremy Johnson, Carl and Arthur Johnson,

5 daughters, LaTasha Johnson, Maria Davis and Kimberly Martin, Stephanie Johnson, and Carla Johnson,

8 brothers, Thomas and Leroy Johnson, Sam and Frank Johnson, Gene, Danny and Terry Johnson, and Michael Johnson

3 sisters, Luella Payne, Doris Johnson and Onetta McGear,

16 grandchildren;

1 aunt, Reba Brame Buchanan 1 great aunt, Arrie Burdette, a host of nieces and nephews.

Burial will follow in the Haley cemetery in Haley, TN.

Manchester Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Johnson

Mrs. Johnson, age 92, of Tullahoma, TN, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at the Life Care Center of Tullahoma.

She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Manchester, a member of the Eastern Star, a school teacher for the Prarie Plains, Coffee County, and Manchester City School Systems. After graduating from Peabody College, she worked for the State of Tennessee Library and Archives in Nashville, she also worked at the Methodist Publishing House in Nashville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Jackson and Margaret Ann Williams Roddy and her husband, Thomas A. Johnson.

She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Garrett of Manchester; Nieces and nephews, Cynthia Ann Parasise of Almont, MI, Jane Price Garrett of Grosse Point, MI, John Roddy Garrett of Eclectic, AL, Mary Evelyn Garrett of San Marcus, TX, James Prescott Garrett of Normandy, TN, and Mark Montgomery Garrett of San Francisco, CA.

Donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Youth or the Organization of your choice. Rev. Sidney Leak, III will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Manchester City cemetery.

Lewis Lee Johnson

Mr. Johnson passed away Thursday, May 27, 2004 at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville, TN, at the age of 84. He worked for the sawmill and was a member of Dillon Street Baptist Church in Woodbury.

Margaret Marie Shelton Johnston

Margaret Marie Shelton Johnston age 80, a resident of Manchester, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at the Medical Center of Manchester. She was born September 19, 1923 in Coffee County, TN the daughter of the late Clyde and Helen Roberts Shelton. She retired in 1988 after 40 years of service with CM Hill Company. She was a member of the Eastern Star Clover Leaf #1002 E.P.E. O. IL and was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne V. Johnston of Manchester, six brothers, Clyde Shelton, Jr., of Manchester, Glenn Shelton of Milton, TN, Harold Shelton of Manchester, Sam Shelton of Manchester, TN, Bill Shelton of Olympia, WA and Don Shelton of Keller, Tx and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brother Tracy Shelton will officiate services and burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro, TN.

James Fallie Joines

James Fallie Joinesage 76, of Manchester, TN passed away Sunday, August 3, 2003 peacefully at his son's residence in Manchester. He was born March 10, 1927.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fallie Elijah Joines and Myrtle Higdon Joines, wives, Frances Nicholson Joines and Rose McGregor Joines, grandsons, Charles Allen Joines and Jonathan Earl Joines.

Survivors include four loving children, James Earl (Nancy) Joines of Manchester, Vickie Lynn (Roy) Davis of Casa Grande, AR, Connie Sue (Eddie) Hollon of Smyrna and Linda Marie Boone of Murfreesboro, 7 grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren, brother, John E. (Louise) Joines of Colonial Heights, VA, sisters, Margaret L. Ghea of Nashville, Marie (Larry) Kasa of Elkhart, IN and step-mother, Wilma Joines Loftis of Nashville, TN

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Athens City cemetery in Athens, Alabama.

Dr. Brenton Cox will officiate services.

Mrs. Jones was born May 8, 1922 in Putnam County, TN the daughter of the late Virbil Herren and Laura Swett Herren. She worked at PCA 1954-1971 and then the Colonial Shirt Factory 1971-1979; and was a homemaker thereafter. She was a member of the Pocahontas Church of Christ and the family asks that donations be made to the church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert S. Jones and two sisters, Reba Jones and Zelpa Kozak.

Survivors include, 2 daughters, Linda (Jerry) Gaultney of Manchester, Thelma (Ray) Green of Manchester, 2 brothers, Willard Herren of Manchester and Winnell Herren of Lewisburg, three sisters, Faye Brintley of Cookeville, Florence Crawley of Manchester and Jo Bell of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Ritchie E. Gaultney and Marion, Penny R. Rigney and Robert, Kandace F. Hullett and Ronnie; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Coker, Clint Gaultney, Cole Gaultney, Mandy and Jesse Stacy, Kelsey Hullett, Robbie, Joey and Justin Hullett and great-great grandchildren, Macin Stacy and Shea Stacy.

Brother Ken Chambers will officiate services.

Burial will follow at Welker cemetery, Coffee Co.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by: His Parents, Homer and Birdie Jones, 2 Brothers: R.L. Jones and Gladus Jones.

He is survived by: Wife; Vine Ozell Jones, 4 Sons David (Petty) Jones, George Jones, Paul (Lorrie)Jones. and Norman(Regina) Jones.

3 Daughters: Brenda Majors, Ann(Mitchel)Green, and Cindy(Scotty)Haggard.
