Fred M. Hawkins, age 88, of Indianapolis, Ind. (formerly of Westmoreland), passed away December 4, 2007. He is survived by his brother, James Luther Hawkins of Gallatin; sister, Mildred Risk of Indianapolis; one nephew and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lattice Hawkins; son, Harold W. Hawkins. Funeral services will be 6 p.m., Thursday, December 6, 2007, from Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center, Indianapolis, Ind. Mr. Hawkins worked at General Motors Truck and Bus for over 30 years and retired in 1981. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union.

Charlie Neal Harrison, age 64, of Westmoreland, passed away on July 31, 2007, at his residence. Coach Bobby Allen Hopkins, age 70, of Westmoreland, died on June 15, 2007, at Centennial Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Gretna Smith Hopkins of Westmoreland; step-sons, Bobby Scott (Diane) Smith of Watertown, Tenn., Michael Christopher Smith of Whiteville, Tenn.; step-grandchildren, Brittany, Blake and Tiffany Smith; sister-in-law, Glenda Hopkins of Lynnville, Tenn.; special friends, Carley Cunningham and Trish; several nieces and nephews; and three generations of Westmoreland school children. He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Hopkins; mother, Thelma Burgess; son, Jeffery Allen Hopkins; brother, Billy Hopkins. Bobby moved to Westmoreland just after attending Middle Tennessee State University, and he became the first football and basketball coach at Westmoreland. His career lasted until 1989 when he left basketball, but he continued teaching until he retired in 1992. He was an avid fisherman and leaves behind many fishing buddies in Westmoreland.
Emma Jean Howell, age 75, of Indianapolis, Ind., passed away March 13, 2007. She is survived by her husband, James Howell; and daughter, Teresa Lynn Denny, both of Indianapolis, Ind.. Ms. Howell is the daughter of the late David Davenport and Prudie Harrsion Davenport. She was laid to rest in the Haysville cemetery, Scottsville, Ky., with a private graveside service on March 18, 2007.
John F. Huard, age 72, of Westmoreland, formerly of Chicago, Ill., passed away on Monday, February 12, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Huard retired from Peoples Gas & Light Company. He also served in the United States Army in Alaska. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Surma Huard of Westmoreland; son, Alan Huard of St. Joseph, Mich.; daughters, Debbie (Earl) Banfield of Houston, Tex., Roslyn Ellis of Bethpage; sister-in-law, Ruth Huard; grandchildren, Carly Gorski of Canton, Mich., Rebecca Ellis of Bethpage; nephew, Jerry Huard; niece, Kathleen Huard.
