Elva Woody, 94, of Hartford, passed away Wednesday, February 23, at Mariner Health Care of Newport.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ed Woody and Tommy Jenkins; son, Bobby Hal Woody; daughter, Kathleen Woody; and brother, Ervin Dorsey.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ervin and Wanda Woody of Hartford; brother, Ted Dorsey of Hartford; granddaughters, Robin and Debra Woody, both of Hartford; grandson, Bobby Dale Woody of Hartford; and one great-grandson, Cole Shepherd of Hartford.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Adams officiating, with burial in Union cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday at Manes Funeral Home.

Etheridge Bryant

Etheridge Bryant, age 59, of Newport, passed away at home February 20.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bart and Hassie Allen Bryant.
He is survived by his daughters, Phyllis Keller, Tammy Jenkins, and Sonja Smith, all of Newport; brothers, Lloyd Bryant, of Newport; sister, Helen Kyker, of Newport; grandchildren, Nathan and Ashland Owenby and Danielle Hall; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Byron Chambers and Rev. Kitts officiating, with burial in the Bryant family cemetery.

Sandra Kay Cutshaw

Mrs. Sandra Kay Cutshaw, age 46, of Newport, passed away Saturday morning, February 19.
Mrs. Cutshaw was of the Church of God Faith.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Cutshaw, of Newport; daughters, Misty Cutshaw, Tammy and Angel Parks, all of Newport; sisters, Mary Worex, Joyce Nease, and Lisa Gregg, all of Newport; brothers, James Colley, Timmy Gass, and Drury Whitlock, Jr., all of Newport; eight grandchildren; and mother, Letha Reed, of Newport. Additional survivors include several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family received friends Monday, February 21, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, at the Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel with Pastor James McFalls officiating. Interment
will be in Shady Grove cemetery.

Gertrude Alke Jakuda, age 94, of Parrottsville, died February 16, at the Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Johann Matyjok and Mykola Jakuda; and son, Alfred Matyjok.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Magda and Guy Hommel, of Parrottsville; sister, Elfniede Stieber, of Munich, Germany; granddaughter and her husband, Dolly and Bill Blazer; grandsons and their wives, Ronnie and Debbie Hommell and Guy Jr. and Galya Hommell, all of Parrottsville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ronald Gough officiating, with burial graveside at 11 a.m. Friday at Blazer cemetery.

Daisy Love Lamb

Daisy (Love) Lamb, age 85, of North Carolina, died Tuesday, February 15, in Marshall, North Carolina.
She was a member of the Paint Rock Full Gospel Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Lamb, Sr. and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sons, John H. Lamb Jr., of Hot Springs, North Carolina and Jimmy Lamb, of Morristown; daughters, Kay Lunsford, of Parrottsville, Alice Tino, and Alma Roberts, both of Hot Springs, North Carolina, Barbara Moore, of Weaverville, North Carolina, and Trula Ridley, of Gastonia, North Carolina; sisters, Minnie Stanley, of Hot Springs, North Carolina and Margaret Aikens, of Marshall, North Carolina; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Paint Rock Full Gospel Church with Rev. Robert White officiating, with burial in Paint Rock cemetery.

George S. “B.H.” Rea, age 73, of 121 Collins Street, Newport, died Friday, February 11, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Rea and his mother, Iva Rea Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, Reba H. Rea, of Newport; nieces, Jackie, Olivia, and Brandi Williams; also several other nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Union cemetery, with Dr. Byron Chambers officiating.

He had attended the Church of God.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Duncan, of Newport; son, Tim Duncan, of Newport; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Sherry Duncan, of Dandridge, Benny and Ida Duncan, and Kenneth and Michelle Duncan, all of Newport; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Andy Chrisman, of Dandridge; brothers, Ronnie Hance, of Newport and Jay Hance, of Dandridge; sisters, Eula Webb, of Newport, Gennie Finchum, of Sevierville, and Deloris Layman, of Newport; grandchildren, Chelsie and Brittany Duncan, of Newport, Ben Duncan, of Sevierville, Josh and Jake Duncan, both of Newport, Derrick Poe, of Newport, Andy and Caleb Chrisman, both of Dandridge, Lucas Duncan, of Newport, and Karie Duncan, of Dandridge; and several nieces and nephews.

Marcia H. Long
Died: 02/12/2000
Marcia H. Long, age 80, passed away Saturday, February 12, after a brief illness. She had most recently resided in Lenoir City and prior to that in Newport.
Marcia was a retired school teacher who taught as far away as Canada, Mississippi, and Louisiana. She maintained her interest in education throughout her life and was involved in adult literacy.
She enjoyed traveling, gardening, writing, photography, and meeting new people. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Newport.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde L. Long, of Lenoir City. Other surviving loved ones include Joan and Terry Brown, Frankie and George Stanford, James and Faye Long, Susan Long, Glenda Hunt, Michelle, Nicole, Shane, Christian, Brandon, Corwin, Dwayne, and Brent.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, February 18, at 2 p.m. at River Oaks Place in Lenoir City.

James Andrew McAmis, age 86, of Newport, died Tuesday, February 15, at the Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel S. McAmis, of Newport; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Katie McAmis, of Newport; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Billy Edmonds, of Newport; brother, Samuel David McAmis, of Clarksville; granddaughter and her husband, Sandra and Tim Snapp, of Parrottsville; granddaughter, Kristi Shropshire and grandson, Tommy Shropshire, both of Newport; great-grandchildren, Zack and Chandler Snapp, both of Parrottsville; and nieces, Nancy McCloud, of Newport and Kimberly McAmis, of Clarksville. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Norman Jones officiating, with burial in Union cemetery.
