Mancele Lee Wilson

Services for Mancele Lee "Monk" Wilson, 35, Watertown, who died Thursday, Feb. 26, in Lebanon, are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Nave Funeral Home, Lebanon, with burial in Wilson County Memorial Garden. The Rev. David Dunn will officiate.

His mother was the late Nancy Barbara Wilson.

He is survived by his father, Ben H. Wilson of Watertown; son, Benjamin Lee Wilson; brother, Jackie Dale Wilson of Lascassas; two sisters, Teresa F. Black of Lascassas, Paulette Hastings of Auburntown; stepbrother, Bennie Ray Wilson; and stepsister, Margie Jean Wilson.

Educated in Murfreesboro and Lebanon schools, he was employed by Prentice Alsup Heat & Air Co.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Glenn E. Bullock

Services for Glenn E. Bullock, 70, who died Thursday, after an extended illness, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, Anderson, Ind., with burial in Anderson Memorial Park cemetery. The Rev. Dennis Zirkelwill officiate.

He was the son of the late James and Effie Mae Bullock, and was preceded in death in 1995 by his wife, Lois Bullock.

He is survived by a daughter, Gale King of Noblesville, Ind.,; a son, Gary Bullock of Unionville, Ind.; two brothers, Perry Bullock of Donelson, Tenn., and Ray Bullock of Murfreesboro; a sister, Opal Hays of Murfreesboro; and two grandsons.

A native of Walter Hill, he was a resident of Anderson, Ind., most of his adult life. He was employed at Guide Lamp Division of General Motors for 31 years, retiring in 1985.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Hospice, or Meadowbrook Baptist Church.

C.L. Hill

Services for C.L. Hill, 78, who died Wednesday at Smyrna Medical Center, will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Gallant Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville with burial in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Charles Hill will officiate.

He was the son of the late John and Mattie Harris Hill, and was preceded in death in 1989 by his wife, Corene Gatlin Hill.

He is survived by a son, Alton Hill of Bell Buckle; three daughters, Billie Jo Roberts of Murfreesboro, Linda Ferguson of Denver, Colo., and Faye Brown of Christiana; one brother, Woodrow Hill of Fayetteville; one sister, Edith Jones of Winchester; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A native of Franklin County, he was a member of Taft Church of Christ and a retired welder.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Gallant Funeral Home, Fayetteville.

Mary Edwards

Services for Mrs. Mary Eloise Edwards, 91, who died Friday, Feb. 27, at Stones River Manor of a short illness, are scheduled for today at 2 p.m. at Morrison Methodist Church in Morrison with burial to follow at Morrison cemetery. The Rev. Jim Kayler will officiate.

A native of Morrison, she was the daughter of the late Colonel C. Gilley and Lou Etta Jacobs Gilley. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jackson Edwards.

She is survived by one daughter, Marcelle Edwards of California; three grandchildren, Donna Kelly of Winchester, and James White and Howard White Jr., both of California; and one great-grandchild, Jason Rossi Kelly of Winchester.

Mrs. Edwards was a retired MTSU housemother. She was a member of Morrison Methodist Church since 1915.

Love-Cantrell and Cope Funeral Home in McMinnville are in charge of funeral arrangements.

Alta Youngblood

Services for Mrs. Alta Brown Youngblood, 66, of Columbia, who died Friday, Feb. 27, at Maury Regional Hospital are scheduled for Monday at 10 a.m. at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with entombment at the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The Rev. Rick Harvey will officiate.

A native of Avery, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Hood and Versa Brown.

She is survived by her husband, Ellis M. Youngblood of Columbia; two sons, Steve K. Youngblood of Smyrna and Terry E. Youngblood of Culleoka; a sister, Authalia St. John of Phoenix, Ariz., and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Youngblood was a member of the Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary for several years. She was a graduate of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.

Visitation with the family will be held today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Zion Christian Academy.

Dan Patterson

Services for Mr. Dan T. Patterson, 76, of Marietta, Ga., who died Friday, Feb. 27, are scheduled for Monday at 2 p.m. at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Roswell, Ga. The Rev. Jack Pilger will officiate.

A native of Murfreesboro, he was the son of the late John William Patterson and Josephine McGuire Patterson.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Patterson; daughters, Margaret Patterson of Atlanta and Mary Austin of Smyrna, Ga.; brother, William Lytle Patterson II of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Patterson was a retired trucking executive, and a member of Who's Who in Transportation. He was a decorated World War II veteran, having served in the Air Force, 57th Airborne. He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Roswell, Ga.

Visitation with the family will be held immediately following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 12900 Arnold Mill Rd., Roswell, GA 30075.

Northside Chapel Funeral Directors of Roswell/Alpharetta, Ga., are in charge of funeral arrangements.

Francisco deSouza

Graveside services for Mr. Francisco Xavier Wood deSouza, 89, of Pearcy Street in La Vergne, who died Saturday, Feb. 28, at Smyrna Medical Center, are scheduled for Monday at noon at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

A native of Portuguese India, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis deSouza.

He is survived by his wife, Moumina A. deSouza; sons, Francis deSouza of Canada,, Henry deSouza of Lebanon, Tenn., and Carlos deSouza of Nashville; daughters, Venise Svec of Illinois, Mary Anne Rowe of Phoenix, Ariz., and Carmelina deSouza of Old Hickory; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. deSouza was a retired diplomat for Portugal.

Visitation will be Monday after 9 a.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.

Troy Givens

Services for Mr. Troy Givens, 31, of Forest Oaks, who died Thursday, Feb. 26, at his home, are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Murray Mathis will officiate.

He is survived by his father, Mike Givens; mother, Helen Hollingsworth; stepfather, Don Hollingsworth; and sister, Angie Wesson, all of Murfreesboro.

A native of Rutherford County, Mr. Givens was a member of Third Baptist Church. He was a 1985 graduate of Riverdale High School and was co-owner of Ideal Hairstyling in Murfreesboro. Mr. Givens was also a local musician and drummer for the band Mother's Revival.

Ruth Bowman

Services for Mrs. Ruth Bowman, 80, of Milton, who died Friday, Feb. 27, at Northside Nursing Center, are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial cemetery. Johnny Bowman will officiate.

A native of Cannon County, she was the daughter of the late C.C. and Kate Simpson Brandon.

She is survived by a son, James M. Bowman of Milton; daughters Lorene Woodall of Johnson City, Texas, Mary Jo Lamb, Annie Ruth Uselton, Linda McConnell and Kathy Grissom, all of Murfreesboro, and Donna Nichols of Rockvale; sisters Velma Todd and Cuba Miller, both of Murfreesboro, and Gertrude Williamson of McMinnville; 18 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bowman was married to the late Joe M. Bowman who died in 1994. She was preceded in death by two sons, Buford Lee Bowman and Billy Bowman.

She was a member of the Milton Church of Christ and was a retired nursing technician at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

Visitation with the family will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Jesse Godfrey

Services for Mr. Jesse Godfrey, 59, of Cookeville, who died Saturday, Feb. 28, at Cookeville General Hospital, are scheduled for Monday at 3 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Don Castleman will officiate.

He was the son of the late Ron and Zonie Newman Milam.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Godfrey; sons, Ricky Godfrey of Odessa, Texas, Vernon Godfrey of Rome, Ga., Jesse Godfrey of Murfreesboro, and Wayne Godfrey of Cookeville; daughters Tracey Warren of Rome, Ga., Sherry Milam of Smyrna, and Tara Allison of Cookeville; and six grandchildren.

A native of Rome, Ga., Mr. Godfrey was a concrete worker and a member of the Baptist Church.

Visitation with the family will be after 1 p.m. today at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.

Edith Schklar

Graveside services for Mrs. Edith Weinzimer Schklar, 80, who died Thursday, Feb. 26, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, are scheduled for today at 1 p.m. at KKAI cemetery in Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon J. Schklar, and grandson, Roger Schklar.

She is survived by sons Steve Schklar of Toronto, Canada, Norman Schklar of Atlanta, and Maury Schklar of Murfreesboro; and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Schklar was a past member of the Lioness Club, Woman's Club and Hadassah. She worked with her husband at Standard Auto Parts Co. for more than 40 years. She was a member of West End Synagogue in Nashville.

Memorials can be sent to West End Synagogue or Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Marshall Donnelly Combs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Reba McClanahan

Services for Mrs. Reba Lee Maynard McClanahan, 67, of 8442 Leanna-Central Valley Road, who died Saturday, Feb. 28, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center, are scheduled for Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home with burial at Evergreen cemetery. Bill Swindell will officiate.

A native of Smith County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Minnie Kemp Maynard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Vernon McClanahan.

She is survived by sons Steve Carson McClanahan of Smyrna and Christopher Vernon McClanahan of Shelbyville; daughters Linda Gail Moss of Murfreesboro, Sharon Lee Bowman of Lascassas, Sandra Ann Murphy of La Vergne and Rita Faye Neal of Lascassas; brothers Bonell Maynard of Smyrna and R.L. Maynard of Murfreesboro; sisters Flossie Merritt of Rockvale and Frances Thrasher of Lascassas; 18 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. McClanahan was a homemaker and a member of Leanna Church of Christ.

Visitation with the family will be held after 4 p.m. today.

Vervie Green

Services for Mrs. Vervie Grace Reed Green, 91, of Wayne, Mich., who died Friday, May 22, of natural causes in the Oakwood-Annapolis Hospital, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harry J. Will Funeral Home in Wayne, followed by burial in the Mount Hope cemetery in Livonia, Mich.

A native of Bradyville in Cannon County, Mrs. Green was the daughter of the late William Peter and Novella Williams Reed.

She is survived by her husband, Lilburn Green of Murfreesboro; two sons, Mack Green of Romulus, Mich., and Billy Ray Green of Wayne; four sisters, Willie Sam Paschal of Brooklyn, Mich., Ray Mitilda Lawrence of Murfreesboro, Opha Faye Jones of Auburntown and Laurel Ruth Lowe of Readyville; three brothers, Fred Beauford Reed, Clarence O'Dell Reed and Hoyte Hall Reed, all of Murfreesboro; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Green had lived for the past 50 years in Wayne. She was of the Methodist faith and was a homemaker.

Visitation with the family will be Monday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Harry Will Links Funeral Home in Wayne. The family also will receive friends at the home of her niece, Sammie Mathers, in Dearborn, Mich.
