William Frazier 'Smokey' Stover (11/16/04)
William Frazier "Smokey" Stover, 79, of Newbern, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004 at Lauderdale Community Living Center in Ripley. He was a retired farmer, a U.S. Army veteran and a member of VFW and American Legion. Services were at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dan Tilley officiating. Burial will be in Rehoboth cemetery in Newbern.

Edward Elco 'Cowboy' Yarbro (11/16/04)
Edward Elco "Cowboy" Yarbro, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Johnson Funeral Home.

Vadie Mae Cole (11/17/04)
Vadie Mae Cole, 73, of Jackson, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2004 at her residence. Services were Tuesday at New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Fruitvale with the Rev. S.E. Brown officiating. Burial was in New Macedonia cemetery. Cosmopolitan Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Edward Elco "Cowboy" Yarbro, 71, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired truck driver, a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of Arizona Truck Driver's Hall of Fame. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Church Grove cemetery in Newbern with Jerry Leach officiating.

Oma Biggs, of Yorkville, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004 at Martin Healthcare. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Johnson Funeral Home.

Benny Bellefont (11/18/04)
Benny Bellefont, 70, of Tigrett, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Tigrett, where he was a member. Burial will be in Allen Chapel cemetery in Tigrett.

John C. Butler (11/18/04)
John C. Butler, 81, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired employee of TVA after 27 years and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, during which he flew 33 missions as a tail gunner in a B24 Liberator.

Luther B. Lindsey (11/18/04)
Luther B. Lindsey, 81, of Tigrett, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2004 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark. He was a Baptist, a World War II Army veteran having received five Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts, a member of VFW Post 4846 and was a Teamster.

Charlita Templeton (11/18/04)
Charlita Templeton, 27, of Dyersburg, formerly of Tiptonville, died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. She was a member of St. John No. 2 Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John No. 2 Baptist Church in Tiptonville with the Rev. Joe Scott and the Rev. Jerry Wood officiating. Burial will be in Citizens cemetery in Tiptonville. Cosmopolitan Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.

Eva Mae Cole, 87, of Jackson died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004 at West Tennessee Transitional Care of Jackson. Services were held at Johnson Grove Baptist Church of Jackson at 1 p.m. Saturday. Burial followed Lane Chapel cemetery of Jackson with the Rev. Walter Thomas officiating. Cosmopolitan Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

Jackie Lee Hale, 72, of Gates, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 at his residence. He was a dock foreman in the trucking industry, a member of the Teamsters and a U.S. Army veteran. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Halls Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Eureka Methodist cemetery near Gates.

Joe Hart (11/22/04)
Joe Hart, 64, of Dyersburg died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 at Oakwood Manor Health Care. He was a retired employee of Heckethorn Manufacturing and a member of the Baptist faith. Services were held on Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Sorrells Chapel cemetery. Bro. Don Layman officiated.

Wiley Algie Irby, 74, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired factory worker and a U.S. Navy veteran. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today in Dyer County Memorial Gardens in Dyersburg with Bro. Bill Phipps officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Ruth Speight Fortner, 72, of Nashville, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, in Nashville with Bro. Kenneth Willis officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

Lela Sue Webb, 88, of Ripley, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004 in Dyersburg. She was a former sales clerk for Younger's Jewelry and a member of Edith United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Edith United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Ripley Memorial Gardens. Garner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Services were Thursday, Nov. 18 at Bells Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Howard Hensley officiating. Burial was in Yorkville cemetery.

She was a retired clerk at Osco Pharmacy in Memphis and a member of First Baptist Church in Tiptonville. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Tiptonville with the Rev. Andy Martin officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James Monroe Permenter, 62, of Newbern, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004 at his residence. He was a truck driver owner/operator and a retired employee of Tokheim. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Newbern.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morning Star Baptist Church in Ripley with the Rev. J.E. Sullen officiating. Burial will be in Cainfield cemetery.

Buck Newbill, 94, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004 in Bartlett. He was a retired leathersmith and a member of First Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Chatham officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery in Dyersburg.

Chester Vance, 80, of Tiptonville, died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a retired millwright, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a Methodist. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Tiptonville chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Don Reel officiating. Burial will be in Tiptonville City cemetery.

Richard E. "Ricky" McDonald, 47, of Dyersburg died Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was a roofer by trade. Graveside services were held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Sorrell's Chapel cemetery. Rev. Calvin Smith officiated.

Anna Louise Montgomery (11/29/04)
Anna Louise Montgomery, 62, of Williamstown, N.J., died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004. She was born and raised in Dyersburg where she served as a parole officer with the Tennessee Department of Corrections. She is the daughter of the late James Stoner. Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 11 a.m. at the Carl Miller Funeral Home located at 831 Carl Miller Blvd., Camden, N.J.
