Vernell Gwinn Irvin, 78, of Friendship, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at her residence. She was a retired employee of the ASCS office in Dyersburg and a member of the Tigrett Church of Christ. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Friendship Funeral Home with Ramey Vetter and Dan Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Bellevernon cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 5-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Barbara Faye Dees Hubbard, 45, of Ripley, died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at her residence. She was a nurse's aide and a factory worker. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Ripley with Elder Felix Moore officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem cemetery in Henning.

Charles Edward 'Chuck' Yarbro (09/26/03)
Charles Edward "Chuck" Yarbro, 65, of Eureka, Mo., died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and a member of the Fraternal Lodge 363 AF&AM of Robertsville, Mo. Services will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Murphy in Fenton, Mo.

Truitt Whitley (09/26/03)
Truitt Whitley, 66, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003 at his residence. He was a retired employee of Ford Motor Company in Michigan. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Westbrook officiating.

Loren Whitnel Pearson, 83, of Halls, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was a self-employed accountant, an airplane pilot, a member of Pilots Association, Claybrook Cumberland Presbyterian Church near Jackson and Eastern Star in Jackson.

Sonya Michelle Anderson, 35, of Friendship, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. She was head teller for First Tennessee Bank in Dyersburg and a member of Cairo Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Friendship Funeral Home. Burial will be in Concord cemetery in Gates.

Ray Thurmond (09/30/03)
Ray Thurmond, 72, of Henderson, formerly of Dyer County, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003 at McNairy Regional Hospital. He was former employee of Co-op in Dyer County and an Army veteran of the Korean conflict. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Haltom's Chapel cemetery with the Rev. C.P. Vandiver officiating. Leon Johnson Funeral Home in Henderson is in charge of arrangements.

Billy B. Thomason, 79, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003 at his residence. He was a retired employee of Ozment Implement and Colonial Rubber Works of Dyersburg, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home with Brother Paul Helton officiating. Burial will be in McCorkle cemetery in Newbern.

Dennis Paul Heatherly Sr., 48, of Munford, formerly of Dyersburg, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003 at Baptist Hospital-East in Memphis. He was a cargo handler for Federal Express. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ricky Douglas Seratt, 49, of Halls, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg, Va. He was a truck driver and a member of Halls First Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Halls First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Gardens.

Pamela Parks Maddox, 61, of Tiptonville, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 at her residence. She was a librarian of Tiptonville Public Library, a member of The Gathering Church, chairman of the Lake County Republican Party and very active in several community and state charity organizations.

Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Selena Gail Riley, 44, of Trimble, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003 at Baptist Hospital-East in Memphis. She was a clerk at Newbern Dollar General Store. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Elbridge cemetery in Obion with Dan Berry and Brother Benny McVay officiating.

Frank Easley, 79, of Dyersburg, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003 at his residence. He was an avid fisherman and golfer. At his request, he was cremated and his remains were laid next to his mother with no services or visitation. Survivors include a brother, Julian Easley of Florida; and niece, Karen Guibourg and children of France.

Richard Lee Biggs, 54, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was an employee of Dyer Fabrics, served on many committees, chairman of the power board, a member of Regional Planning Commission, a county commissioner, a member of Habitat for Humanity and Lifeline Blood Services.
