He was a retired machinist in Dearborn, Mich., a member of VFW, a Navy veteran of World War II, received the Purple Heart medal while serving as a crew member on the USS Samuel B. Roberts which was sunk in the Battle of Leyte Gulf during World War II.

William Robert McIntosh, 85, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, May 10, 2003 at NHC Healthcare in Murfreesboro. He was a retired supervisor for Farmers Home Administration, a retired Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army, a member of Kiwanis Club and a member of First United Methodist Church in Dyersburg.

Estell Warner, 83, of Dyersburg, formerly of Ridgely, died Friday, May 9, 2003 at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of Mooring Baptist Church near Ridgely. Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Turner officiating. Burial will be in New Haven cemetery in Ridgely.

Betty Sue Townsend, 74, of Tiptonville, died Monday, May 12, 2003 at Jackson Regional Medical Center. She was a clerk for Healthmart and a member of First Baptist Church in Tiptonville. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Martin officiating. Burial will be in Tiptonville City cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors at 5:30 p.m. today at the church.

Barbara J. Everton, 50, of Memphis, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Brooks officiating. Burial will be in MCCO cemetery in Newbern. H.H. Hudson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Lewis Department Store in Chicago, Ill. and a member of Springhill Baptist Church. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Zion cemetery with the Rev. James Branscum officiating. The family will receive visitors at 9 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church with the Rev. W.L. McCadney officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park. Cosmopolitan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Julius H. Reese, 87, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, May 15, 2003, at his residence. He was retired vice president and sales manager for Branded Liquors and was previously vice president of Seagram's, was an Army Air Corps sergeant in World War II and served as an airplane mechanic at Keesler Field in Biloxi, Miss., where he received a Presidential Commendation for his part in the development of an automatic feathering device for World War II period planes. .

Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Services were Sunday at El Canaan Baptist Church in Henning with the Rev. J.E. Sullen officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Thompson's Mortuary in Ripley was in charge of arrangements.
