LEWISBURG - Paul Darnell Jr., 46, of Lewisburg, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at London Funeral Home. Visitation will be after noon Monday until the time of service Tuesday. Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery.
The Marshall County native was the son of the late Paul Darnell Sr. and Peggy Brooks Darnell of Lewisburg. He was the owner of P & L Transportation. He was a member of Lewisburg First Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Janet Neal Darnell of Lewisburg; daughters, Amanda Darnell Webb of Petersburg and Harley Darnell of Lewisburg; sons, Joseph Kyle Darnell of Lewisburg and Brandon Darnell of Cornersville; two half-sisters, Linda Wall of Columbia and Paula Redd of Lewisburg and four grandchildren.

LYLES - Lorraine B. Mitchell, 87, of Lyles, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at Horizon Medical Center.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home with Dan White and Ricky Warren officiating. Burial will be in the Hilltop Cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late Louvenia (Hasley) and Gale Benjamin Bentley. She was the wife of the late John Morris Mitchell, Sr. She was a retired machine operator for Levi Strauss. She was a member of the Wrigley Church of Christ.
Survivors include his sons, John Mitchell of Santa Fe and Michael Mitchell of Dickson; daughter, May Lou Howell of Lyles; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

FAYETTEVILLE Elizabeth Campbell, 75, of Fayetteville, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at the Life Care Center.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Higgins Funeral Home with Jim Black officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
The Williamson County native was the wife of Johnny Campbell. She was a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Washington Street Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Wauford.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her son, John "Bart" Campbell of Bartlett; brothers, Edward Wauford of Williamsport, Bill Wauford of Williamsport, Allen Wauford of Columbia and J.B. Wauford of College Grove.

Mrs. Dorothy Krenz, 83, a resident of Houston Drive in Columbia, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Williams Funeral Home in Columbia will be in charge of the arrangements.
The Bay City, Mich. native was the daughter of the late Frank and Louise Speakerman Ahrens. She was the widow of John Krenz, Sr. who died in 1979. Mrs. Krenz was a former long-time resident of Bay City and Saginaw, Mich. area and a homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (William) Petersen of Omer, Mich., Carol (William) Rathje of Columbia, John Krenz, Jr. of Reed City, Mich. and Randy (Catherine) Krenz of Columbia; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Krenz who died in 2000.

Mr. Clarence Allan Kerley, 95, retired well-known Columbia businessman and resident of Terrace Drive, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Oakes & Nichols with Dr. Carl Duck, the Rev. Jim Collins, Dr. William Kerley and Howard Massey officiating. A native of Portland, Tenn., he was the son of the late C. W. Kerley and Edna McNeill Kerley and graduated from Portland High School. He attended Middle Tennessee State University and later the College of Commerce of Bowling Green University, from which he earned both B. A. and B. S. degrees.
While attending school in Murfreesboro, he met his future wife, Lyda Styles. They married in Murfreesboro on October 21, 1930 and celebrated 70 years together prior to her death on Jan. 31, 2001.
After college, he taught in his former high school for four years before entering the family retail business which his grandfather, father and uncles opened in 1902. When he moved to Columbia in 1943, he continued to work with his father and brother in the family business, Kerley Furniture Company on the Courthouse Square.
Mr. Kerley was a long-time member and Deacon of First Baptist Church. He was instrumental in organizing and a charter member of the West End Baptist Church, where he served as an active Deacon past his ninetieth birthday.
In 1936, he joined the newly organized Rotary Club in Portland and served as President in 1942-1943. In 1943, he joined the Columbia Rotary Club and immediately became active, serving as Secretary/Treasurer in 1944-1945 and held numerous offices and served on many committees. He was President in 1948-1949, the year the Club celebrated its 25th anniversary, attended three international conventions and visited many other Rotary Clubs over the years.
For many years, he inducted new members into the club and will be fondly remembered for this charge to other members when referring to the Rotary wheel symbol: "Never break a spoke or slip a cog." Mr. Kerley had 55 years of perfect attendance in the Columbia Rotary Club and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow. He truly epitomized the Rotary motto: "Service above self."
He was a member of the Columbia Masonic Lodge #31 and a York Rite Mason.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. William Clarence "Bill" (Sherry Beeman) Kerley of Houston, Texas and David Allan (Joann Fitzgerald) Kerley of Signal Mountain; a sister, Frances Kerley Viar of Columbia; three grandchildren, Douglas (Cindy) Kerley, Cynthia Joann Kerley and Sabrina (Ron) Hallett; three great-grandchildren, Nada Joann Varner, Bridget Hallett and Rachel Hallett; a great-great-grandchild, Maya Varner.
Active pallbearers are Virgil Moore, Kenneth Knox, Knox Surles, Charles Tisher, Dr. Harry Helm, Ray Burt, Joe Ford and Cecil Johns. Honorary pallbearers include Bill Summers, Dr. John Simmons, members of the Columbia Noon Rotary Club and Deacons of West End Baptist Church.

Linda J. Gray Lucas, 53, of Detroit, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004, at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oaks, Mich.
Services were conducted Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at Strictly Biblical Church in Detroit, Mich. with the Rev. Harvey Johnson officiating. Jeter Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She was the daughter of the late Charles Gray and Kathleen N. White Gray. She attended Detroit Public Schools and later worked as a school bus driver. Continuing with her education, she became an administrative assistant for the Student Life Office at the University of Detroit Mercy, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree and was in close pursuit of a Masters degree in Social Work.
She was also known as Nana to her grandchildren who she loved dearly. She took pleasure in reading the Living Word, shopping and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Muriel Gray and a brother, Myron Gray.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include two daughters, Lorraine L. Lucas and Leslie E. (Mark) Johnson, both of Detroit, Mich.; a son, Timothy (Erica) Lucas Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sisters, Drena L. (JC) Goodrum of Columbia and Katricia Gray of Detroit, Mich., Alice Gray of Maryland and a brother, Ira D. (Lynda) Gray of Detroit, Mich.; seven grandchildren and lifelong friend, Patricia Griffin of Southfield, Mich.; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Albert Donald "Pappy" DelRoy, 88, a resident of Rock Springs Road in Columbia, died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services for Mr. DelRoy were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Williams Funeral in Columbia with the Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family visited with friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The Boston, Mass., native was the son of the late Ralph and Angie Sacchetti Stasio and husband of the late Minnie Ethel Coran DelRoy.
He was a former owner and operator of the Country Kitchen on Pulaski Pike and retired from Sherry's restaurant in Maryland. He was head maitre de for Duke Zeberts in Washington, D.C. He loved cooking and was an avid photographer, stamp, coin and rock collector.
He is survived by two daughters, Diana (Jimmy) Gilliam of Jasper and Denise (David) Ring of Columbia; a son, Douglas DelRoy of Charlotte, N.C.; a stepbrother, Anthony (Mary) Stasio of Maryland; 13 grandchildren, Douglas (Jennifer) Huey of Columbia, Joy L. (JJ) Duarte of Lubbock, Texas, Tammy Ring (Hershel) Eller, Joseph "Joey" (Kristy) Bell, David "Boo" Ring Jr., Jammy Heath (Dawn) Gilliam, Wayne (Angie) Chipchase, Larry (Becky) Hyden, Billy Huey and Patricia (Steve) Reno, all of Columbia, Michael (Robin) Huey of Virginia, Vera (Charles) Oliver of Louisville, Ky., and Linda (Tom) Cappalle of Ohio; 12 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Harold Huey of Columbia; and special friends, Virginia Biachii and Marieann Lassiter of Columbia. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Huey.

She was the daughter of Dorothy McCord and the late James Tarkington and a native of Hickman County. She was a homemaker.
