Mr. Ernest Shelby "Pete" Brown, 72, retired dozier operator, farmer and resident of Culleoka Highway, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bill Richardson and Tim McHenry officiating. Burial will be in Wilkes Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Everett Leighton Brown and Lillie Bell Oliver Brown. He was a member of the Culleoka Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Willa Dean Henson Brown of Culleoka; two sons, Michael (Darlene) Isbell of Columbia and Norris Brown of Culleoka; two daughters, Lois (Evans) Underwood of Culleoka and Rhonda (Matt) Lavacot of Susanville, Calif.; one brother, Earl C. (Geneva) Brown of Columbia; three sisters, Ruth Vick of Pulaski and Bernice Bratton and Mary (Howard) Mills, both of Columbia; mother-in-law, Velma Clayton Henson of Columbia; eight grandchildren, Evan Underwood, Kevin Underwood, Misty Simmons, Natalie Hodge, Miriam Lavacot, Joseph Lavacot, Mary Brown and Joe Brown; four great-grandchildren, Baylee Simmons, Bethany Simmons, Tristan Underwood and Zoie Underwood; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Phil Burgett, Joey Victory and nephews.

Mr. Jasper Louis "J.L." Held Jr., 69, a resident of the Enterprise Community, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004 at Crockett Hospital.
The funeral mass for Mr. Held will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Catherine Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick Connor officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery with military honors provided by the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #10. The family will visit with friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with a prayer vigil being held at 8 p.m.
The native of Maury County-Enterprise Community was the son of the late Jasper Louis "Jap" Held Sr. and the late Ruby Pitts Held. He was the husband of Treva Hall Held of the Enterprise Community.
Mr. Held was retired owner and operator of City Cleaners in Mt. Pleasant. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #10. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and a communicant of St. Catherine Catholic Church. He was an avid antiquer and scrapper.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Marx of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Patrick Louis (Teresa) Held of Columbia; grandchildren, Rachel Diane Held, Katherine Nicole Held and Patrick Louis Held Jr., all of Columbia, Ryan C. Marx of Mt. Pleasant and Paul J. Marx of Harrison, Mich. He was preceded in death by a son, Destry Paul Held, who died in 1978.
Pallbearers will be Roland Hall, Roy Hall, Leamon Hall, Bob Garner, William Gibson and Ryan Marx.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Elbert, the 8 a.m. Sunday Choir at St. Catherine Catholic Church, the 5:30 p.m. Saturday Choir, Jamie English, Dr. David George, William Crowder, Harold Sharpe, Dr. Reams Powers, Center Wing of Countryside Nursing Home in Lawrenceburg and Tommy Reischman.

CENTERVILLE - Helen Dunn, 90, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, at Warrenton Health and Rehabilitation in Thomson, Ga.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home in Centerville with Mike Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the Nickell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was the daughter of the late Jack Harrington and Henrietta Howell Harrington. She was a seamstress and a member of the Centerville Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Dunn; sons, Louis Earl Dunn, Joe Allen Dunn and Jimmy Wayne Dunn; and a daughter, Etta Catherine Scherpinsky.
Survivors include a daughter, Lucy Stanphill; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Glen and Madge Miller Tate.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Lawhorn of Pulaski; a sister, Bonnie Barnes of Nashville; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Eather Pearl McLean.
She was a member of Greater First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Della McLean and Edna Givens; and a brother, James McLean.

The Hohenwald native was the daughter of the late Jessie Lucille Fain Lawson and Horace F. Lawson Sr. She was a former cafeteria worker at Lewis County Schools. She was the wife of the late J.D. Turnbow.
Survivors include sons, Dan Turnbow of Cookeville and Tony Turnbow of Hohenwald; brothers, Eddie Lawson, Horace F. Lawson Jr. and Larry Lawson, all of Hohenwald; sisters, Carol Canady of Nashville and Judy Throneberry of Lebanon; and a granddaughter.

The Giles County native was the son of the late William Henry and Ruth Printice Stone.
He was a truck driver in construction.

He was the son of the late Artie Mae Odom and William Clarence Stephens.
He was the owner of Stephens Meat Processing and a farmer. He was a member of Springer Road Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Orten Stephens of Ethridge; a daughter, Karla Jean Stephens Brown of Elkmont, Ala.; sons, Tracy Michael Stephens of Thompson Station and John David Stephens of Ethridge; sisters, Carolyn Hobbs and Carmie Newton, both of Lawrenceburg; and five grandchildren.

Survivors in addition to her mother, include her husband, Johnny Griggs of Pulaski; a son, Matt Griggs of Pulaski; daughters, Mary Jones, Sandy Jones and Jessica Griggs, all of Pulaski, and Tammy Cox of Lewisburg; brothers, James Barnett of Campbellsville, Danny Barnett of Pulaski and Robbie Barnett of Union City; sisters, Linda Dunnavant of Pulaski, Connie Kirby of Nashville and Jennie Jones of Lynnville; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
