HOHENWALD - Lela M. Staggs, 95, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Three Rivers Hospital in Waverly.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home with Artie Collins officiating. Burial will be in Downey Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
She was the daughter of the late Bill McDonald and Sarah Lomax McDonald. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Staggs.
Survivors include a son, George Staggs of Waverly; daughters, Elsa Carpenter of Nashville and Lil Soao of Marietta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Twomey Church of Christ. Cremation was Monday in Affiliated Crematory in Nashville. Visitation will be from noon-3 p.m. Wednesday at the church. McDonald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was the son of the late William Henry Hamblin and Maureen Hartley. He was a truck driver for Roadway and a member of Twomey Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Veronica "Vicky" Hamblin of Centerville; sons, Bill Hamblin Jr. of Cookeville, Michael Hamblin and Jason Hamblin, both of Centerville, Ricky Hamblin of Hohenwald and Joshua Hamblin of Lyles; a daughter, Kelley Eaton of Pegram; and sisters, Margarett Turner of California and Betty Mason of Hendersonville.

NASHVILLE - Mr. Raymond "R.C." Chaney, 78, formerly of Columbia and a resident of the Dandridge Towers on Ocala Drive in Nashville, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
Services for Mr. Chaney will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Dan Winkler officiating. Burial will be in Talley Cemetery in Petersburg at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The family will visit with friends from 6-8:30 p.m. Friday and from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Born in Cordova, Ala., he was the son of the late Raymond and Maggie Spires Chaney, Sr. and husband of the late Maycie Luna Chaney. He was a retired truck driver with Smith Trucking in Louisville, Ky. and a member of Crieve Hall Church of Christ.
He is survived by three daughters, Connie Deeb and Millie Heim, both of Nashville, and Donna (Ronnie) Glass of Jeffersonville, Ind.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Carpenter of Columbia; a brother, Bob Chaney of Columbia; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Cooke of Franklin; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.

OAK GROVE - Donna Fay Terry, 61, of the Oak Grove Community, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at St. Thomas Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Giles Memory Garden.
The Giles County native was retired from Maremount Gabriel Corp. She was the daughter of the late Duncan and Lorene Howell Ward.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Terry of Oak Grove Community; a son, Tim Long of Cornersville; a daughter, Barbara Garner of Fall River Community; three step-sons, Billy Terry of Goodspring, Jerry Terry, Jr. and Tim Terry, both of Florida; brothers, Jerry and Ray Ward, both of Pulaski; a sister, Barbara Fry of Pulaski; two half-sisters, Melba Stanfield and Addie Horne, both of Louisiana; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Farmers Indian Creek M.B. Tabernacle with the Rev. Edward Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Blanches Chapel Cemetery.
He was the son of the late Frank and Emma Owens.
Survivors include three step-sons; a step-daughter, and seven step-grandchildren.

He was the son of the late Will and Nora Gordon. He served for 20 years in the United States Armed Services.
Survivors include his daughters, Pamela Gordon of Nashville and Patricia Gordon of California; a grandchild and a great-grandchild.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Riverside United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ray Newell officiating. Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg. The Marshall County native was the son of the late Thomas M. Ervin and Flosetta Ellis Ervin Gibson. He attended King's Daughters' School. After the death of his parents, Mr. Ervin remained in Maury County because Columbia had opened its heart to Jackie and his friends with special needs.
Jackie enjoyed the courtesies extended to him by the citizens of Columbia and especially by the members of Riverside United Methodist Church. He was a former resident of the Cayce Lane Group Home and had worked at the Impact Center for 25 years. He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two brothers, Tom Ervin of Nashville and Jerry (Franda) Ervin of Knoxville; two sisters, Mary Lee (Bill) Pappanastos of Cornelius, N.C., and Jane Ward of Huntsville; nieces, Kim Ervin, Julie Ervin, Patricia Ervin, Lee Ann Sanders, Michelle Ward Kunhart and Karen Ward; and nephews, Tommy Ward, Mark Ervin, Earnest Pappanastos and Greg Pappanastos.
Pallbearers will be Tom Ervin, Jerry Ervin, Denny Porr, Austin Johnson, Tommy Ward, Jay Lovell and Earnest Pappanastos. Honorary pallbearers will be past and present employees of the Impact Center and past and present housemates.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Hershel and Lula Johnson Henson. She was the wife of Ernest R. "Mule" Crews of Mt. Pleasant. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Richard Cole of Mt. Pleasant; three stepdaughters, Kim Sandefur of Columbia, Lynn (Bobby) Thurman of Churchill and Sandy (Jerry) Roberts of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Deidra (Frankie) Boswell and Kara (Brian) Horton, both of Columbia, Matt Cole and Brad Cole, both of Mt. Pleasant; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Era Hendrix and Katherine Morgan.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Howell P. Caldwell and Frances Gambill Caldwell. She was married to James L. McCormack who preceded her in death May 7, 1986. Mrs. McCormack was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Jim "Jimbo" McCormack of Columbia; one daughter, Janie Sanders of Columbia; one sister, Jane Luna of Columbia; three grandchildren, Allison McCormack of Columbia, Scott Sanders of Springfield, Mo., and Patrice Roberts of High Ridge, Mo.; and two great-grandchildren, Delia Roberts and Noah Roberts.

The Summertown native was a senior at Lewis County High School and an employee of Pizza Hut.
Survivors include his parents, Raymond Freeman of Columbia and Karen (Hinson) Freeman of Summertown; a brother, Josh Freeman of Summertown; sisters, Stacy Freeman of Summertown and Kim Holcomb of Hohenwald; a grandfather, Bill Hinson of Summertown; grandmothers, Norma Hinson of Summertown and Hazel Brewer of Hohenwald; a great-grandmother, Emmer Stills of Columbia; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and two nephews.
