Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Neal Funeral Home with Chad Moore officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mars Hill Cemetery.
The Lawrence County native was the daughter of the late Helen Kobeck Sisson Lantz and Clyde Sisson. She was self-employed and a member of OK Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Christy Bennett of Lawrenceburg; and two grandchildren.

CENTERVILLE - Lillian Laverne Phillips, 73, of Centerville, died Monday, April 12, 2004, at Vanderbilt Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home with Bill McDonald officiating. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The Centerville native was the daughter of Cora Gaskill and Josh Dorton. She was a retired bank teller. She was also predeceased by a brother, C.W. Dorton.
Survivors include her husband, Hugh Phillips of Centerville; sons, Steve Phillips of Centerville and Daryl Phillips of Nashville; and sisters, Velma Dunn, Thelma Stewart and Donald Dorton, all of Nashville.

She was a homemaker and Giles County native.
Survivors include a sister, Anna Peden; a grandson, a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Neal Funeral Home with James Tweedy Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from noon-9 p.m. Wednesday.
He was the son of the late William Jones Curtis and Mary Lucendia Hooper Curtis. He was retired from Reynolds Metal Company and a member of The Gathering Place.
Survivors include a daughter, Pam Curtis Steadman of Auburndale, Fla.; a son, Mike Curtis of Lake Wales, Fla.; a brother, Hilliard Curtis of McEwen; a sister, Bertha Wannaker of Waverly; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late Marion and Mary Heathcoat. She was a homemaker and a member of the Fairview Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jesse Gilbert.
Survivors include sons, Jesse Gilbert of Spring Hill, John D. Gilbert of Bon Aqua and Carl Victor Gilbert of Lyles; a daughter, Betty Capley of Columbia; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

HILLSDALE, N.J. - Mrs. Nora Marie Beckum Young, 79, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at her residence in Hillsdale, N.J.
A memorial service for Mrs. Young will be conducted at a later date in New Jersey. Williams Funeral Home in Columbia will be in charge of local arrangements.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late James Thomas and Betty Lindsey Beckum. She was the widow of Daniel Young.
She is survived by a son, Daniel (Leslie) Young, II of New Jersey; a daughter, Barbara (Danny) Miguez of India; grandsons, Charles and Danny Young of New Jersey; two brothers, James Thomas Beckum of San Diego, Calif. and Charles (June) Beckum of Columbia; four sisters, Eva (LM) Coffey and Ava (Monroe) McMeen, both of Columbia, Joy (Edward) Wauford of Williamsport, and Floy (Kenneth) Mobbs of Lawrenceburg; two sisters-in-law, Fannie Mai Beckum of Franklin and Mary Louise Beckum of Mt. Pleasant.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Russell Beckum and Billy Beckum.

Mrs. Della Mai Potts Adkisson, 74, resident of Leipers Creek Road, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at NHC of Columbia.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Rollie Potts and Bessie Hutcherson Potts. She was married for fifty-five years to Thomas Gray Adkisson, Jr. who preceded her in death March 7, 2004. She was a homemaker and member of Elmore Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School for over fifty years.
Survivors include one daughter, Bessie Ann (Danny) Ford of Columbia; two sons, Dean (Mary Jane) Adkisson of Santa Fe, Randell (Nancy) Adkisson of Thompson Station; five brothers, James (Ruby) Potts of Columbia, Wallace Potts of Leipers Fork, Roy (Melvie) Potts of Santa Fe, Mac (Shirley) Potts of Theta, Emerson (Paulette) Potts of Water Valley; two sisters, Helen (Boyd) Malugin, Daisy (Fred) McCord both of Santa Fe; and step-mother, Ruth Potts, who raised her.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Louise Brooks.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Malugin, Tony Malugin, Andrew Brooks, Kenneth Potts, Jerrell Potts, Landon "Squeeze" Adams, William Andrews and Frank Jones.

Leonard W. Scribner, 84, owner of L.W. Scribner Construction Company and resident of Buck Matthews Road, died Monday, April 12, 2004, at Baptist Select Rehab Center.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Crawford officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends from 48 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Lewis Scribner and Lula Adams Scribner. He was a 1938 graduate of Columbia Central High School. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Scribner was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather, and friend to many. He was an avid reader, a history buff and a sports fan. A lifelong resident of Maury County, Mr. Scribner was a building contractor, real estate broker and developer of land and subdivisions in the county and surrounding areas.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Katie Brasher Scribner of Columbia; four daughters, Sharon (Dale) Bub of Brentwood and Judy Scribner, Denise (Ray) LeBlanc and Phyllis Scribner, all of Columbia; one son, Robert Scribner of Columbia; three brothers, Roy Scribner, Ed Scribner and Albert (Lillian) Scribner, all of Columbia; four grandchildren, Ginny (Kerry) Massey, Shannon Attkisson, Justin Attkisson and Brandon Attkisson; three great-grandchildren, Katie Gilbert, Peden Massey and Nathan Massey; and extended family, Carolyn Ball, Chrissy Ball and Terri Thompson.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Michelle Fair and Robby Fair.
Pallbearers will be Ray LeBlanc, Justin Attkisson, Brandon Attkisson, Kerry Massey, Dicky Welch, Steve McEwen, Jim Kitchen and Byron Farris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Beverly Douglas Jr., Leo Miller, Central High School Class of 1938 and members of Grace Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sisters, Martha Johnson and Marie Showell, both of Lawrenceburg; and one grandchild.

She was the daughter of Mary Johns Easlick and the late Forrest Easlick. She was retired from Murray Inc. and a member of the Liberty Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include daughters, Kimberly Lynn Serrett and Shawna DeAnn McGill, both of Lawrenceburg; sisters, Linda Lane of Lithia, Fla., and Cindy Easlick of Lakeland, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
