Mr. Henry Paul Woody, 79, retired farmer and manager of Maury Farmers Co-op from 1947-1987 and resident of Wedgewood Drive, died Saturday, April 10, 2004, at Life Care of Columbia.

Services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Cordell Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends after 3 p.m. Monday, concluding with a Masonic Service at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1106 Nashville Highway, Columbia, TN 38401 or Santa Fe Cemetery Fund, c/o Burton Woody, 4829 Snow Creek Road, Santa Fe, TN 38482. A native of the Santa Fe Community, he was the son of the late John Newton Woody and Sammie Pauline Pigg Woody and a 1942 graduate of Santa Fe High School.

A member of Benton Masonic Lodge #111 in Santa Fe for 54 years, he was a York Rite Mason, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and the Royal Order of Scotland. He was a long-time Director of Middle Tennessee Bank and more recently Community First Bank. He was also a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Columbia Rotary Club.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Helen Fitzgerald Woody of Columbia; two sons, Ronnie (Sandra) Woody of Spring Hill and Barry (Laura) Woody of Goodlettsville; four grandchildren, Jon (Dana) Woody, Melissa Woody, Kelly Woody and Jason Moss; three brothers, Allen Woody and Burton (Gladys) Woody, both of Santa Fe, and George (Barbara) Woody of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Joyce Woody of Santa Fe. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jefferson Woody.

Active pallbearers are Gary Woody, Donnie Woody, Kent Woody, Larry Allen, Wayne Woody, Charles Woody, Jason Moss, Jon Woody, Fred Woody and Ben Woody.

Mrs. Jessie Louise Gower Gobble

Jessie Louise Gower Gobble, 75, died Saturday, April 10, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Pettus-Turnbo chapel with Donald Goodrum and Victory Alley officiating. Burial will be in Spann Cemetery.

The Lawrence County native was the daughter of the late Herman Taylor and Dullie McLain Gower. She was co-owner of Gobble Trucking Company, a homemaker and a member of Calvary Hill Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Brown Gobble; a son, Robert "Bobby" Gobble Jr.; daughters, Sue Bowden, Carol Whitehead and Rita Weathers, all of Lawrenceburg; brothers, Howard Gower and Calvin Gower, both of Waynesboro; sisters, Jean Shedd and Mary Ellison, both of Lawrenceburg; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Ina Louise Hanna

Ina Louise Hanna, 80, of Lynnville, died Saturday, April 10, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in Lynwood Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Leroy Hanna.

She is survived by a son, Donnie Hanna of Lynnville; a daughter, Clara Irwin of Hendersonville; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Venson Harris

Mr. Rollie Venson Harris, 84, retired from Heil-Quaker Corporation and Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors, died Saturday, April 10, 2004, at his residence in the Pottsville Community.

Services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bobby Sampson and Jack White officiating. Burial will be in the Shires Cemetery.

The Marshall County native was the son of the late Grady Harris and Bulah Montgomery Harris. He was a long-time member and song leader of the Old Lasea Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Bertha Rosell Neathery Harris of Pottsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Mary Charles Harris of Spring Hill; three grandchildren, Terri (Pete) Aldridge, Brandy (Benji) Robinson and Chad (Kari) Harris; and a great-grandchild, Tyler Robinson.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Paylen Hiss; and a brother, Lyndon Harris.

Active pallbearers are Van Hill, Jerry Harris, Chad Harris, Steve Harris, Ronny Brown, Benji Robinson, Pete Aldridge and Larry Billington.

Honorary pallbearers include members of the Old Lasea Church of Christ, friends in the Pottsville Community, former employees of Heil-Quaker Corporation, staff of Oakes & Nichols and Wayne Hickman.

Mr. V.P. Lunn

Mr. Vera Penn "V.P." Lunn, 90, retired from the maintenance department at Monsanto Company and a resident of Clara Mathis Road in Spring Hill, died Sunday, April 11, 2004.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Glen Alexander, Howard Shelton and Jonathan Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Thomas Eli Lunn and Mary Alice Rummage Lunn. He was a long-time member of the New Lasea Church of Christ and currently a member of the Spring Hill Church of Christ.

He was first married to Ruby Cammuse Lunn, who died May 14, 1977.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie Sue Jones Lunn of Spring Hill; two daughters, Frankie (Stan) Pilkinton of Columbia and Vera Sue (Ronnie) Riley of Spring Hill; three sons, Thomas Alvin (Shelby) Lunn of Columbia, Stacey (Olivia) Lunn of Spring Hill and Ronnie (Glenda) Lunn of Lynnville; two step-daughters, Margaret (Jack) Robertson of Spring Hill and Bonnie Bailey of Nashville; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, David Lunn; a sister, Ivy Cole; and three brothers, Willis Lunn, June Lunn and Bill Lunn.

Active pallbearers are grandsons, Kenneth Lunn, Phillip Lunn, Gregory Lunn, Jody Riley, Jonathan Riley, Jason Riley, Nicholas Riley and Scott Pilkinton.

Mr. Henry Putnam "H.P." Vinson Jr., 79, well-known Columbia businessman and real estate developer and resident of the Pulaski Pike, died Sunday, April 11, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Dawson officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A native of Model, Tenn., now a part of "The Land Between The Lakes," he was the son of the late Henry Putnam Vinson Sr. and Monico Knight Vinson. He was a graduate of Stewart County High School.

He began his career traveling from town-to-town showing movies in tent shows and one-room schoolhouses. He came to Columbia and opened the Sundown Theatre in 1954. The Sundown operated until he built and opened Shady Brook Theatre and Development, as well as operating the Polk Theatre for a number of years and various real estate developments.

Mr. Vinson was past president of the Tennessee Theatre Owners Association. He also was a member of the Foundation of Motion Pictures Pioneers Club, Variety Club International, charity arm of the motion picture industry, and the Foundation Board of Columbia State Community College. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He was married Dec. 22, 1944, to the former Dorothy Nell "Dot" Bilbrey, who preceded him in death June 16, 2003.

Survivors include two sons, Darrell Vinson and Vince (Susie) Vinson, both of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Betty Vinson of Columbia; and nieces and nephews, Peggy Gee, Peggy Jannotta, Mona Hoffman, Carolyn Ritchie, Dr. Janice Vinson, Robbie Downs, Danny Knott, Bobby Dill and Henry Vinson.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Ann Vinson; a sister, Ruth Dill; and two brothers, Dr. B. J. Vinson and Carl Vinson.

Active pallbearers are Kevin Pease, Randell Cheek, John Totty, Scott Matta, James Boyd, Jerry Dickey, Larry Nickell and Stan Alderson.

Honorary pallbearers are Robbie Brickner, Jonathan Counts, Donald Pulley, Judge Bobby Holloway, Leon Billingsley, Dr. William Fuqua, Dr. Allan Lay, Virgil Moore, Waymon Hickman, Dr. Gaylon Harris, Randolph Lockridge, Rudolph Lockridge, Jimmy Lockridge, Michael Lentz and past and present caregivers.

Mrs. Barbara 'Barbie' Donoho Sparkman

NUNNELLY - Mrs. Barbara "Barbie" Donoho Sparkman, 33, died Saturday, April 10, 2004, due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident.

Ms. Sparkman was born in Fort Wayne, Ind., and made her home in Nunnelly. She was raised in Williamson County and attended Page High School. She worked in restoration for clean up after fires and floods with Special Touch in Columbia. She attended Grace Chapel in Leipers Fork. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Donoho.

Survivors include her parents, Don and Barbara Donoho of Franklin; a son, Sammy Sparkman of Nunnelly; daughters, Brittany Sparkman and Samantha Sparkman, both of Nunnelly; brothers, Don Donoho of Fairview, Ray Donoho of Franklin, Philipp Donoho of Thompson Station and James Donoho of Franklin; sisters, Donna Boone of Fairview and Vicky Dion of Arlington,  Texas; a grandmother, Lucille Donoho of Franklin; father of children, Sam Sparkman of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with Jim Costello and Ed Slayton officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will start one hour prior to service on Tuesday.

Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, 3009 Columbia Ave., Franklin, is in charge of arrangements.

Eva Jane Conners

HOHENWALD - Eva Jane Conners, 93, of Hohenwald, died Monday, April 12, 2004, at Lewis County Manor.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home Inc., with L.C. Loveless officiating. Visitation will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Downey Cemetery.

The Hohenwald native was the daughter of the late Algia Garrett and Estalee Duncan Garrett. She was retired from Genesco. She was preceded in death by her late husbands, Ernest W. Harris and Bluford Conner.

Survivors include a son, James Earl Harris of Hohenwald; a sister, Thelma Wicks of Hohenwald; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
