Mrs. Bertha Dickinson Gunnel
Services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Bob Adair and Rev. J. O. Martin officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. A native of Winston County, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Ross Williams and Nisha Orton Williams. Mrs. Gunnel was a supervisor for Dixie Manufacturing Company for twenty years and later for Weather Tamer for eighteen years. She was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Jody Dickinson of Columbia and Judy (James, Sr.) Medkiff of Memphis; a daughter-in-law, Mavis Dickinson Nims of Portland, Ore.; special friend, Dianne Vaughn of Columbia; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her loving miniature Chihuahua, "Tipper."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Dickinson, Sr. in 1971 and a son, Charles Douglas "Doug" Dickinson, Sr. in 1994.
Pallbearers are James Medkiff, Jr., Jeremy Medkiff, Charles Douglas Dickinson, Jr., Pamela Medkiff, Lee Vaughn, Jr., Adam York, Gilbert Marlowe.
Mrs. Cordell Russell
Services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Steve Vanhooser officiating. Burial will be in the Lynnwood Cemetery. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Lonnie B. Cross and Cora Beatrice Powell Cross and a member of the Lynnville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Roger) Barlar of Lynnville; a son, Lonnie (Barbara) Russell of Lynnville; a brother, James Elmer Cross of Columbia; four grandchildren, Debbie (Gary) Underwood, Ricky (Rebecca) Russell, Janet (Michael) McAlister and Julie Welsh; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Hickman and Raydean Beasley.
Pallbearers are Michael McAlister, Gary Underwood, Ricky Russell, W. L. Beasley, Wayne Minatra, Jeff Dault, Brad Clark and Russ Underwood.
Virginia Hickerson
Graveside services will be conducted Sunday in the Himes cemetery at 2:00 PM with Dan Boyd officiating.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
Her parents were the late Claude and Mavis Campbell Hinson. She retired as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Baptist Hickman Nursing Home in Centerville.
Survivors include son, Bobby Hickerson of Hohenwald; two daughters, Letha Graham and Patricia Young both of Normandy; sisters, Ruth Whitehead of Hohenwald and Elizabeth Tibbs of Pleasantville; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Olay Quience Roberts, Jr.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, 116 Broadway St. in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will be in Hunters Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Friday at Chavers Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
The Maury County native was the son of Mrs. Mary Ruth Roberts Oliver of Mt. Pleasant and the late Mr. Olay Q. Roberts Sr. He was a graduate of Clarke High School in Mt. Pleasant and attended Tennessee State University in Nashville. He was a composer for the Tennessee Aristocrat Band, a Vietnam War veteran and was employed by the Redstone Arsenal and the Corps of Engineers in Huntsville, Ala.
He was called to the ministry early in life and pastored Williams Chapel M.B. Church in Hartsville and Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church in Tanor, Ala. He was a lover of gospel music and was blessed with the ability to sing and play the piano. He was preceded in death by a sister, RhaVennah Roberts Huff.
In addition to his mother, he leaves to celebrate his memories a loving and devoted wife, Michelle Cleveland Roberts of Madison, Ala.; a daughter, LaJuan Roberts of Gary, Ind.; sons, Nathan Roberts of Columbia and Michael Roberts-Gilbreath of Clarksville; a stepdaughter, Maria Ammons (Gene Smith) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a brother, Flamonte Roberts (Joyce Britton) of Columbia; sisters, LaVeta (Benjamin) Frierson and Anne Ruth (Gary) Stovall, both of Columbia; mother- and father-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Harold (Elizabeth) Cleveland of Madison, Ala.; sisters-in-law, Attorney Denise (Dr. Christopher) Leggett of Atlanta and Sharon (Herman) Hall of Cleveland, Ohio; brother-in-law, Harold Cleveland III of Madison, Ala.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.

She is the daughter of Naymond Graves and the late Doris Carroll Williams Graves. She was employed as a registered Nurse at Skyline Medical Center.
In addition to her father, she is survived by son, Jeremy Roden of Hohenwald; daughter, Diana Roden of Hohenwald;step-mother, Marjorie Graves of Hohenwald; brothers, Ron and Jimmy Graves of Hohenwald and Andy Graves of Springfield; sisters, Linda Moores of Jacksonville, Fla. and Melissa Raymer of Hohenwald; grandmother, Augusta Williams of Hohenwald; and one grandchild.
Deadie Denney Terrell
Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Larry Locke officiating. Interment
will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
The Smith County native was the daughter of the late George G. and Lydia Cheek Denney. She worked for the U.S. Tobacco Company and owned a restaurant. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include daughters Juanita Martin of Columbia and Ellen Thomspon of Culleoka; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Prince, Freddie Elijah
Survivors include a sister, Cordie Perry of Lawrenceburg.
Mr. Prince was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lousie Prince. He was born Sept. 17, 1928 in Summertown. His parents were the late William Marion and Sudie Elvira Wynn Prince.

Clara Gillian Bertrand
Services will be conducted graveside in the Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski at 3 p.m. Sunday with John Abernathy Smith officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at Bennet-May Funeral Home.
She is the daughter of the late William DeSha Turner and Mattie Hope Turner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Bertrand.
Survivors include sons, William T. Bertrand and Robert J. Bertrand; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Friends and Family will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Helen Cook
A graveside memorial service for Mrs. Cook will be conducted at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery. Williams Columbia Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The Cleveland, Ohio native was the daughter of the late William and Mare Jordan Clayton. She was the widow of Ralph Lewellen and Albert Cook. She was a retired secretary for Harland Electric Company in Detroit, Mich.. She was a former long-time resident of Akron, Ohio where she was secretary for B.F. Goodrich for many years. She attended the First Presbyterian Church in Columbia. She was an avid reader and walker.
She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn Copen of Barberton, Ohio, Patricia (Ralph) Owens of Columbia and Ruth Ann (Everett) Dix of Portland, Ore.; twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She was the daughter of the late William Homer Crosby and Elizabeth Anne Huff Crosby. She was a homemaker, medical assistant, librarian, and bookkeeper for The Golden Shear Barbershop.

Charles Jackson Logue

The Maury County native was the son of the late Harley and Estelle Goodwin Logue. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Bennett "Dot" Logue who died April 30, 2001. He was a retired self-employed farmer.
He is survived by three daughters, Brenda Farris of Mt. Pleasant and Glenda (Randy) Staggs and Teresa (Neal) Brady, both of Columbia; three sisters, Doris West of Nashville, Barbara Ann (Pete) Langley of Florida and Joyce (Jimmy) Lovell of Spring Hill; a great-grandson whom they raised, Brendan Voorhies of Mt. Pleasant and 12 other great-grandchildren; six grandchildren, Ginger Ferguson and Crissa Staggs, both of Columbia, Jobeth Farris of Mt. Pleasant, Cameron (Casie) Staggs of Lewisburg, Kendall (Diane) Staggs of Franklin and Nicholas (Brittney) Hill of Santa Fe.
He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Jay Goatz.

He was the son of the late Randel and Nanny Mae Hill. He was an Army veteran, retired from Monsanto, member of Elks Harlan Flippin Lodge #1155. He was preceded in death by a son, William Hill; and sisters, Minnie Lee Baxter and Jessie Mae Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Alberta Hill; a son, Gregory Hill; and daughters, Deborah Hill, Jennifer R. Hill and Linda G. Hill.
Alma Allen Smith
Mrs. Alma L. Allen Smith, 64, a resident of Lakeside Drive in Columbia, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services for Mrs. Smith will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Shelton officiating. Burial will be in the Barnesville Cemetery at Summertown.
The Lawrence County native was the daughter of the late James Russell and Esther Whitehead Allen. She was the wife of Tommy Smith of Columbia. She was a homemaker and a member of the Nazarene Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five sons, Wayne (Judy) Chunn of Lawrenceburg, David (Lynn) Chunn of Summertown, Winston (Tammy) Chunn of Columbia, Timmy (Patsy) Mobbs of Lewisburg and Kenny (Shirley) Mobbs of Mt. Pleasant; 14 grandchildren, Joshua (M'Leah) Chunn, Katie Chunn and Caleb Chunn, all of Lawrenceburg, Christy (Angel) Rabelo, Ashley (David) Farrell, John Chase Chunn and T.J. Mobbs, all of Columbia, Carrie (Jason) Walker of Summertown, Jonathan (Laura) Chunn of Clarksville, Tyler Mobbs of Pennsylvania, Hunter Cummins and Trevor Cummins, both of Lewisburg, and Amanda Mobbs and Jared Mobbs, both of Mt. Pleasant; six great-grandchildren, Derek Shepherd, Karley Rabelo and A.J. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Odell Allen, Claude Allen and Coye Allen; and an infant sister, Avey Dean Allen.
