Mrs. Ruth Prince
Mrs. Ruth Savage Prince, 83, wife of Walker Prince and a resident of the Cathey's Creek Community, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services for Mrs. Prince will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with David D. Davidson officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Irene Rice Savage. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cathey's Creek Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Lynn (Ronnie) Johnson of Hampshire and Jenny Louise Prince of Nashville; a son, Thomas "Tommy" Walker Prince of Nashville; a granddaughter, Amanda Johnson of Murfreesboro; and a sister, Reba Savage of Hampshire.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janie Susan Prince.
Pallbearers will be Dan Shannon, Roy Shannon, Ronnie Johnson, David Duncan, Joe Sam Savage and Barry Prince.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Cathey's Creek Church of Christ, Kenneth Travis Jr., William Bates and Robert Green.

Charles 'Hollywood' Collins
Charles Evans "Hollywood" Collins, 70, of Columbia, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be conducted at noon Saturday at 8th & Woodland Street Original Church of God with Bishop Charlene Ogilvie officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Roundtree, Napier & Ogilvies Columbia Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Burma Collins; father, Ben Collins; and a brother, Bennie Collins.
Survivors include his mother, Mattie Louise Frierson; a son, Carl (Teresa) Crosby; daughters, Deborah (Eddie) Oden and Burma (Scooter) Stovall; a brother, Ray (Faye) Collins; sisters, Pearl Lymon, Alberta Webster, Marie (Blair) Lymon, Virginia (Leonard) Mitchell and Shirley Walker; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Frankie Cates
CULLEOKA - Mr. Frankie Edwards Cates, 54, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at his residence on Graham Road in Culleoka.

The Maury County native was the son of Opal Irene Cates of Culleoka and the late Chames Oscar Cates. He attended the Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, James Ronald (Peggy) Cates Sr. of Culleoka; three nieces, Sherry (Aubrey) Smithson, Mandy Cates and Tammy Cates; one nephew, Ronald Cates Jr.; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by one aunt, Dorothy Chapman.
Pallbearers will be Harold Cates, Aubrey Smithson, Dale Cates, James Ronald Cates Sr., Brandon Waynick and Ricky Cates.
Mr. H.L. Gibson Jr.
Mr. H.L. Gibson Jr., 78, retired from the Mt. Pleasant Post Office, died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at his residence on Kegg Springs Road in the Cathey's Creek Community.
Funeral services for Mr. Gibson will be conducted at a time to be announced later by the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Frankie Russell Allen
SUMMERTOWN - Frankie Russell Allen, 48, of Summertown, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Barnesville Baptist Church with Marvin Potts, Tommy Hill and Odell Spears officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Barnesville Cemetery.
He was the son of the late Mary Lee Reeves and James A. Allen. He was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Summertown Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Cozart Fralix of Summertown; daughters, Sharee Smith of Ethridge and Janean Thompson of Summertown; a son, Matthew Allen of Summertown; stepsons, Danny Fralix and Chris Fralix, both of Summertown; sisters, Lynne Boehlen of Napierville, Ill., and Joyce Copeland, Shirley Bearden and Brenda Fitzgerald, all of Summertown; brothers, Lindell Allen of Summertown and Larry Allen of Hohenwald; and 12 grandchildren.
John Hunter
SUMMERTOWN - John Hunter, 76, of Summertown, died Wednesday, June 15, 2004, at his residence.

He was the son of the late Daisy Baker and Thomas Hunter. He was the husband of the late Bertha Foster Hunter. He was a retired truck driver.

Logan Jarrett Chunn
Mr. Logan Jarrett Chunn, 79, retired insulator of Local 86 in Nashville and resident of Caldwell Drive, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.

The Maury County native was the son of the late John Wesley Chunn and Ruby Wilma Jarrett Chunn.
On Feb. 7, 1953, he married Sally Betty Oliver Chunn who survives him. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Berea Church of Christ.
Survivors in addition to his wife are three daughters, Debbie (Ricky) Lovell of Columbia, Janice (James) Bramlett of Murfreesboro and Ella (Kenneth) Marsh of Nashville; one son, Dennis (Brenda) Chunn of Columbia; one brother, Harold (Sally) Chunn of Waverly; one sister, Mardell (Red) Watson of North Augusta, S.C.; 12 grandchildren, Josh Sullivan, Tracy (Sharon) Harris, Chris (LeAnn) Harris, Chance Chunn, Chase Chunn, Brannon Morton, Gene (Amy) Morton, Charlie Cecil, Chad Jones, Shawna Lovell, Dee Dee Lovell and Shelley Lovell; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, William Eugene Hargrove; and one brother, William Mayfield Chunn.

Shanita Renay Cross
Shanita Renay Cross, 25, of Columbia, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Lee Williams; grandparents, Kathleen Cross Dawson, William Dawson, Orange Ludie Williams and Elizabeth Ann Williams; and a cousin, Terry Johnson.
Survivors include her mother, Patricia Ann Cross of Columbia; brothers, Shaun Cross and Harold Cross, both of Columbia; and sisters, Kimberly Cross and Danita Cross, both of Columbia.
Diane C. Milam
FRANKLIN - Diane C. Milam, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2004.
Services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel of Roses with Dr. Dave Foster officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Interment
will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Ms. Milam was a graduate of Columbia military Academy and the University of Kentucky.
She was a staff photographer for The Tennessean and a winner of two Associated Press awards.
She was an avid horse woman, having ridden in the Iroquois races as well as other steeplechase events. She was a top breeder of bi-color Persian cats, which she sold internationally. She attended Bellevue Community Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lincoln Moore Milam and Dorothy Hoover Colley.
Survivors include her sister, Melinda M. Milam; a brother, Jerry C. Colley Jr. of Columbia; nieces, Susan M. Baldridge and Kathryn M. Baldridge; and a nephew, Thomas M. Baldridge, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Baldridge, Doug Derryberry, Chris Milam, Bush Cole Jr., Eph Hoover III and Thomas Hoover.
The family requests memorials be made to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.
Margaret Ella Banks
PULASKI - Margaret Ella Banks, 84, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Pulaski.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home with burial in Bradshaw Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was the daughter of the late Hassie M. and Katherine Watson Williams.
She was a retired waitress.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brown Banks.
Survivors include a brother, Charles Williams of Frankewing; and a sister, Martha Ruth Bishop of Corinth, Miss.
Bessie Dawson Scribner
MT. PLEASANT - Bessie Dawson Scribner, 92, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, at Hidden Acres Health Care in Mt. Pleasant.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at Saint James Primitive Baptist Church on East Cooper Street in Mt. Pleasant with Edgar Rutledge officiating.
Burial will be in Hunters Cemetery.
The body will lie in state from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at Chavers Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant and from noon-1 p.m. Thursday at the church.
She was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Orr Dawson. She was a homemaker and member of St. James P.B. Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Scribner; and several siblings.
Survivors include a son, James Scribner of Mt. Pleasant; and several grandchildren.
Virgil S. Wilhite Jr.
MT. PLEASANT - Mr. Virgil S. Wilhite Jr., 90, a resident of the Enterprise Community near Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Wilhite will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. B.T. Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery with military honors being provided by the Tennessee State Guard. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The Jacksonville. Fla., native was the son of the late Virgil S. Sr. and Sally Clair English Wilhite. He was the husband of Emma Lou Ridge Wilhite for sixty-four years. He was a graduate of Hay Long High School. He was retired from the United States Air Force and served during World War II in India, China and Burma. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post #10. He was a former employee of the Wilbert Vault Company and a farmer. He was a member of the Enterprise United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David R. (Shelia) Wilhite of Mt. Pleasant and Richard (Brenda) Wilhite of Lewisburg; a sister, Lissie Emma Austin of Sevierville; a brother, Dr. Robert C. (Esther) Wilhite, Sr. of Columbia; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Virgil S. (Colleen) Wilhite, III; a brother; Dr. Richard E. Wilhite; a granddaughter, Katherine Emma Wilhite.
Pallbearers will be David Lee Wilhite, Richard Benjamin Wilhite, Joshua Wilhite, Jerry Wilhite, Franklin Wilhite, and Larry Wilhite.
