Mary Ethel Hughes Sutton, 87, died Monday, June 28, 2004, at Crockett Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Neal Funeral Home with Johnny Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
She was daughter of the late Henry Alonzo Vanderford and Slena Matile Ann Lynn Vanderford.
She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by husbands, Leslie Cecil Hughes and Jesse Sutton.
Survivors include a son, Marvin O'Neal Hughes of Wayne County; daughters, Joyce Shedd of Lawrenceburg and Annette Gower of Wayne County; sisters, Stella Cleveland of Columbia, Genola Bradley of Summertown and Genelle Edwards of Alabama; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Rita Joyce Eberhart McDowell
Mrs. Rita Joyce Eberhart McDowell, 70, wife of Robert McDowell and a resident of University Drive in Columbia, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services for Mrs. McDowell will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with the Rev. Billy Kimbrough officiating. The family will visit with friends from 4:30 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, Texas.
The Brownsboro, Texas, native was the daughter of Maggie Clayton Eberhart of Arlington, Texas, and the late Allison A. Eberhart. She was homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Columbia.
In addition to her husband and her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Linda (Joe) Young of Euless, Texas; a son, Steve (fianceeí Terri) McDowell of Franklin; four grandchildren, Jakob Young of Euless, Texas, and Brooke McDowell, Brian McDowell and Blake McDowell, all of Columbia; a great-granddaughter, Chloe Cross of Columbia; two sisters, Charlsie Price and Linda Sue Hurley, both of Arlington, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

James Alfred Mattox, 73, died Monday, June 28, 2004, at his son's residence.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home with Tim Pollack officiating.
Interment will be in Deerfield Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was the son of the late Roy and Bertha Birdyshaw Mattox.
He was retired from Columbia Gas Company in Ohio and was a member of the Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, James G. Mattox.
Survivors include sons, Terry D. Mattox of Lawrenceburg and Jack D. Mattox of Bradner, Ohio; a daughter, Judy D. Hafner of Bowling Green, Ohio; a brother, Kenneth Mattox of Ethridge; sisters, Dean Boyd and Juanita Cox, both of Lawrenceburg, and Iva Dell Shedd of Waynesboro; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. John T. Burkeen
Mr. John T. Burkeen, 92, of Columbia, died Monday, June 29, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Anthony E. Paschall officiating.
The body will lie-in-state Saturday at V.K. Ryan & Son Funeral Home.
Burial is in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
A native of Maury County, he was the son of the late Lela Burkeen. He attended Maury County school system and was employed as a concrete finisher.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his wife, Annie Ruth Burkeen.
Survivors include his sister, Mrs. Rosie Lee Stone of Columbia; special cousin, Phillip R. Johnson of Tacoma, Wash.; devoted cousin, Jennie Johnson of Columbia; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Shirley Bluing of Nashville; a foster-niece, Robyn Pillow of Nashville; a foster-nephew, James Dobbins; several cousins, other relatives and friends.
Blair Fredrick 'Sonny' Hein
Blair Fredrick "Sonny" Hein, 63, died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Crockett Hospital.

He was the son of the late Blair C. Hein and Frances Smith Utter of Sebring, Fla. He was a Mason, veteran of the U.S. Air Force, member of the American Legion and a member of Christ Center New Covenant Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Lowery Hein.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include four daughters, Cathy Hein of Loretto, Becky Sluder of Creola, Ala., Charlotte Battiste of DeKalb, Ill., and Pamela Bunt of Summertown; two sons, Eddie Hein of Summertown and Scott Steadman of Lawrenceburg; a sister, Carol Dawes of Sebring, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
William Morgan Moore
William Morgan Moore, 88, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Pulaski.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home with burial in Giles Memory Garden.
He was the son of the late Marvin Emmitt and Violet Theo McFarland Moore. He retired from Elkton School and as a farmer.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Frances Wilburn and Barbara Jean Smith, both of Pulaski; sisters, Nellie Frances Miller and Blanche Miller, both of Pulaski; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Ruby Elizabeth McGill Ivie

She was the daughter of the late James B. McGill and Pet Dollar McGill. She was a homemaker and member of Summertown Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.W. Ivie.
Survivors include her son, Everett Wayne Ivie of Columbia.
Frances Lovett Brown
Mrs. Frances Lovett Brown, 78, resident of the Rally Hill Community, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Columbia Care and Rehabilitation Center.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Thomas Washington Lovett and Hattie Morgan Kincaid Lovett. In 1953 she married Luther Edward Brown who preceded her in death July 1, 1997. She was a member of New Lasea Church of Christ and in recent years attended Sharps Corner Church of Christ.
She is survived by one aunt, Leona Agent of Chapel Hill; two nephews, Grover (Juanita) Brown Jr., Fred (Ruby) Brown of Franklin; one niece, Elsie Smithson of Spring Hill; four great-nieces, Brenda (Corey) Rice of Ft. Riley, Kansas, Janice (John) Sharp of Rally Hill, Crystal Able and Kisha Brown both of Chester, Virginia; four great-nephews Tony Smithson of Spring Hill, Darren Brown and Kendall Brown both of Chester, Va., Kevin Brown of Franklin; eight great-great nieces and nephews; several cousins; and special friend Edith Rummage of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruby Brown and two nephews Wayne Brown and Leslie Brown.
Pallbearers will be Leonard Lovell, Billy Joe Hendricks, Fred Brown, Charles Kincaid, Grover Brown Jr., Tony Smithson and Corey Rice. Honorary pallbearers will be men of New Lasea Church of Christ and men of Sharps Corner Church of Christ.

E. B. "Toy" Peery, 87, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald with bill Webb and Richard Tate officiating. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery in Hampshire. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
He was the son of the late Byron Cormean Peery and Permelia McNabb Peery. He was a truck driver with Arrow Gas Company, co-owner of Westside Motors and owner of Gulf Service Station. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter and one great-grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Jane Amacher Peery of Hohenwald; sons, Jerry Peery of Jackson and David Peery of Murfreesboro; daughters, Joyce Hinson and Barbara Baker, both of Hohenwald; sister, Mary Hinson of Hohenwald; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Charles Thomas Price, 64, died Saturday, July 3, 2004, at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Neal Funeral Home with Paul Dyar officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Revilo. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was the son of the late Frank Price and Oder Lee Harrison Price. He was a sales representative with Winton Machine Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dickey Price.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Ann Haas Price of Suwanee, Ga.; a son, Ronald T. Price of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Cheryl Galdo of Philadelphia; sisters, Jo Hester, Lucy Didick and Doris Price, all of Leoma, Juanita Chapman of Lawrenceburg and Dot Crowson of Huntsville, Ala.; brothers, Lonnie Price of Madison, Ala., Royce "Bud" Price of Tullahoma, Jackie Price of Goodspring and Jerry Price of Leoma.

Mr. Travis L. Burlison, 22, a resident of Freedom Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, July 10, 2004, in Williamson County.

The Maury County native was the son of Ronald Lee Burlison and Vickey Lynn Hull Sonnier. He was employed with Shackelford Electric in Columbia.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a stepfather, Norman Sonnier of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Tonya (Frankie) White of Columbia; three stepsisters, Kathy Sonnier and Christy (Toe) Greenleaf, both of Columbia, and Misty Sonnier of Mt. Pleasant; a stepbrother, Joseph Sonnier of Mt. Pleasant; maternal grandparents, Marie (Oneal) Clark of Summertown; two nieces, Dana White and Kayla Greenleaf, both of Columbia; five nephews, William White, Dale White, Timothy White, Jonathon Bennett and Dominic Greenleaf, all of Columbia; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, William Hull and John and Mary R. Burlison. He was also preceded in death by a very special friend, Jo Ann Martin.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Burial will be in the Downey Cemetery in Hohenwald.
Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
He was a native of Hohenwald and was preceded in death by his parents, James Marion Beatty and Hattie Beatty.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeannie Wildshire of Corpus Christi, Texas; a stepbrother, John Edwards of Marietta, Ga.; a half-sister, Beth White of Waverly; a half-brother, Arthur Beatty of Franklin; and three grandchildren.
