Mr. William Wayne Stinnett, 61, former truck driver and owner of Wayne's Place in Pulaski, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at his residence in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Truman Smith officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Giles County native was the son of the late William Thomas Stinnett and Lizzie Norman Stinnett Lyons. He was a member of Third Street Church of God in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Wayne Stinnett of Columbia, William "Billy" Wayne Stinnett, Jr. of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; one brother, Roy Eugene (Ruth) Stinnett of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; five sisters, Minnie Goodman, Frances Dalton, Dorothy Roe, Ruby Compton, Carolyn (Freddie) Pipkin all of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and former wife, Betty Jo McNeely Stinnett of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Wanda Stinnett and one sister, Mary Colerick.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Gladys Mae Martin
Gladys Mae Martin, 87, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Pulaski.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late Sherman and Gertrude Fogg Gilliam. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Fletcher Martin.
Survivors include sons, Cecil Martin of Pulaski, Luther Martin of Goodspring and Ernie Lee Martin of Manhattan, Kan.; daughters, Frances Martin and Paulette Martin, both of Goodspring and Donna Beard of Grant, Ala.; a brother, Thomas Gilliam of Pulaski; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Donna Marie Brown
Donna Marie Brown, 40, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Hohenwald with Marcus Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memorial Gardens.
She was the daughter of the late Edgar Thomas and Julia Miller Thomas. She was a homemaker.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Kenneth Edward Brown of Hohenwald; son, Stephen Blackwood of Hohenwald; daughter, Trisha Brown of Hohenwald; brothers, Michael A. Pierce and Marvin L. Thomas, both of Hohenwald; half-brothers, Richard Thomas of Crossville, Ill., Gary Thomas of Morris Ill., and Darryl Thomas of Charlotte, N.C.; half-sister, Carol Brooks of Eldorado, Ill.; and one granddaughter.
Julia Mae Bates
Julia Mae Bates, 81, died Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Baptist Hickman Hospital in Centerville.
Services were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home with Pat Sullivan officiating. Burial was in Charles L. Nickell Memorial.
She was the daughter of the late Washington Moss and Ida Mae McCord. She was a machine operator at Genesco Shoe Factory and a member of Twomey Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by husbands, Pete Loveless and Marshall Bates.
Survivors include sons, Jimmy Loveless of Duck River and Marlin Ray Loveless of new Johnsonville; daughters, Juanita Truitt of Centerville and Helen Scott of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Helen Blocker of Columbia; stepdaughters, JoAnn Pruiett of Nunnelly, Pat Springer and Ruby Jenkins, both of Centerville; stepsons, James Bates of Waller, Texas and Jerry L. Bates of Duck River; six grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Lester Victory
Lester Victory, 81, died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at Life Care Center in Centerville.
Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home with Ary Harris officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
He was the son of the late George W. Victory and Eva Mai White. He was employed as a machine operator at Genesco Shoe Factory. He was a member of the Centerville Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Victory of Centerville; sons, Wayne Victory of Nashville, Jimmy Victory of Big Pine Key, Fla., and Tim Victory of Centerville; sisters, Georgia Bryant and Alice Gossett, both of Centerville; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Emma J. Marsh Wiggins
Mrs. Emma J. Marsh Wiggins, 81, of Columbia died Sunday, July 11, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with services to follow at noon at the Church with the Rev. Alvin Anderson Sr. officiating. The body will lie-in-state Thursday at V.K. Ryan & Son Funeral Home. Burial is in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. V.K. Ryan & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Emma Lockridge Marsh. She attended the Maury County school system and was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mother's Board, Sunday School teacher, Usher's Board and Secretary of the Choir and Church Custodian. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas Isaiah Marsh, William Dwayne Marsh and Rufus Marsh and two sisters, Elizabeth Marsh and Eva Mai Marsh Booker.
Survivors include her husband Arthur Wiggins; two children, Mary Alice Gibson of Tampa, Fla. and John L. Booker of Galenda, Ind.; step-sons, Barry and Micheal (Geneva) Wiggins both of Columbia; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
William Lafayette Turner
William Lafayette "Bill" Turner died Tuesday, July 13, 2004.
Graveside services for the Mt. Pleasant native will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with the Rev. James Edward Flatt officiating.
He worked for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Faye C. Turner of Mt. Juliet.

Savannah Carlyanne Sands, 2-month-old daughter of Julie Anna and Steven Lee Sands II, died Monday, July 12, 2004, at her residence on West Sixth Street.
Services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Thomas Wilson officiating.
Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols and from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Peter's Parish Hall.

Mr. Ellis Nelson Houser, 63, carpenter and longtime resident of the Water Valley Community, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Arch Lipscomb Houser and Annie Lee Dodson Houser. He was a 1958 graduate of Santa Fe High School. Mr. Houser made his home in Michigan for several years. He was a member of Godwin-Chappell United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Archie Lee (Stanfill) Farris and Mrs. Carole Jean (Carl) Sellers, both of Columbia, and Mrs. Charlotte (Bob) Gray of Water Valley; and several nieces and nephews.

Elnora Jean Workman Hillhouse, 66, of Newton, Miss., died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Miss.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Webb Chapel at James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton, Miss., with Dr. Leroy Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Newton Masonic Cemetery.
The former Mt. Pleasant resident was the daughter of the late Clarence and Annie Mae Attkisson Workman. She was a homemaker and Member of First Baptist Church in Newton, Miss.
She was also preceded in death by her sons, Barry Sills and Johnny Hillhouse; a brother, Gary Workman; and sisters, Wilma Reynolds, Anna Holt and Ruth Workman.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Hillhouse; daughters, Brenda Hendrix of Bruceton, Lois Sharp of Union, Miss., Rebecca Denning of Bushwood, Md., and Jan Addy of Decatur, Miss.; sons, Larry Sills and Jerry Sills, both of Newton, Miss.; sisters, Dot Lynch of Columbia, Claryce Faunker of Ethridge and Janice Grooms of Columbia; brothers, John Workman of Ethridge and Glen Workman of Goodland, Kan.; a special nephew, Ricky Oliver of Columbia; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mr. William Walton "Bill" Cocke, 60, a resident of First Avenue in Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Services for Mr. Cocke will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Elmer Crosby officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late Fred and Goldie Boshears Cocke. He was a graduate of the Hay Long High School of Mt. Pleasant and a member of the Allensville Baptist Church.
He was the dearest precious twin brother of Linda (Bob) Creech of St. Ann, Mo., and is also survived by a nephew, Barry (Tiffiny) Creech of St. Ann, Mo.; a great-niece, Brittany Creech of St. Ann, Mo.; a great-nephew, Dylan Creech of St. Ann, Mo.; special aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Jones; six special cousins, Steve Jones, Janice Jones and Gary Knowles, all of Mt. Pleasant, Glenn Jones of Mt. Joy Community, Sandra Knowles Burns of Columbia and Teri Knowles Nolen of Summertown; and special friends, Robert West, Wanda and Jerry Fly, Stanley Rogers, Alan Arnold, Linda Sue Jones and Richard Powers.
He was preceded in death by two special cousins, Edwin Knowles and C. Wayne Boshers.
