Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cornersville Funeral Home with burial in Mars Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be until the funeral hour Thursday.
He was the son of the late Burnie and Ruby Walker Pinkston. He was retired from Heil-Quaker Corp. and farming. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a member of Cornersville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Christopher Pinkston.
Survivors include sons, Ellis Pinkston of Petersburg and Jimmy Pinkston of Ardmore, Ala.; a sister, Catherine Kennedy of Lewisburg; and four grandchildren.
Goldie Luella Scantland Cockrell
LAWRENCEBURG - Goldie Luella Scantland Cockrell, 87, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Crockett Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Neal Funeral Home with Smokey McDonald, Brian Manning and Kenny Isbell officiating. Visitation will be 4 -9 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Brace Cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late Bryant Scantland, Tom Hill and Maggie Luella Whetston Scantland Hill. She was a homemaker and member of Freedom Hill Bible Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard S. Cockrell; sons, Shearld N. Cockrell and Jimmy D. Cockrell; brother, Norman Scantland; and sister, Nellie Dawes.
Survivors include daughters, Jewel D. Cockrell Isbell, Ruby N. Cockrell Manning, Margie S. Cockrell Williams and Wanda G. Cockrell Moore, all of Lawrenceburg, Linda S. Cockrell of Summertown and Connie S. Cockrell Davis of Pulaski; sons, William L. Cockrell of Lawrenceburg, Bobby G. Cockrell of Columbia, Ernest S. Cockrell, Larry E. Cockrell, Roy S. Cockrell and Jerry W. Cockrell, all of Summertown, Danny L. Cockrell of Ethridge and Stevie E. Cockrell of Loretto; 43 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Charles "Chuck" R. Carder
STERLING, Kan. - Charles R. Carder, 64, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center St. Joseph Campus in Wichita, Kan.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church of Sterling, Kan., with the Rev. Nancy Goddard. Burial will be in Sterling Community Cemetery with full military honors from Fort Riley. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Sillin Funeral Home in Sterling, Kan. Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church or Sterling Public Library in care of the funeral home.
He was the son of the late Charles R. and Eunice Davidson Carder. He was a retired farmer, realtor and owner of Carder Pest Control. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and member of United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Altland.
Survivors include his wife, Priscilla McCrum; sons, Douglas W. Carder of Louisburg, Kan., former Columbia resident Robert H. Carder of Franklin and Ted D. Carder of Sterling, Kan.; a sister, Susan Ackley of Lees Summit, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.

PULASKI Lillie Mae Russell Holley, 88, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home in Pulaski with burial in Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She was the daughter of the late Lindsey and Emma Beadle Russell. She was retired from W.E. Stevens Manufacturing Co. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brown Farris Holley.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Holder of Cornersville and Mary Ellen Holder of Lewisburg; a brother, George L. Russell of Pulaski; a sister, Mary E. Cole of Pulaski; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Gwendolyn Joan Love
HOHENWALD - Gwendolyn Joan Love, 65, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at her residence in Hohenwald.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home with Boyd Kinzer officiating. Burial will be in Lewis County Memorial Gardens.
She was the daughter of the late Odis Woolridge and Willia Dean Johnson Woolridge. She was a laborer for HIS, Genesco and Levi Strauss. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Arthur Love; three brothers, Charles Woolridge, James Woolridge and Bobby Woolridge; and a sister, Delores Youngblood.
Survivors include daughters, Elaine Reeves of Hohenwald and Bernice Woolridge of Centerville; brothers, Hugh Woolridge of Centerville and Andrew Woolridge of Hohenwald; sisters, Margaret Booker of Hohenwald and Mildred Stone of Lyles; and one grandson.
Edward H. 'Eddie' Meinck
Mr. Edward H. "Eddie" Meinck,76, a resident of Running Deer Drive in Columbia, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
The funeral mass for Mr. Meinck will be recited at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine Catholic Church with the Reverend Patrick Connor officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors being provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5-9 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
The Brooklyn, N.Y. native was the son of the late John and Margaret Witterholt Meinck. He was the husband of Catherine Bennis "Kitty" Meinck of Columbia. He was a retired die cast supervisor for General Motors Corporation in Trenton, N.J. He served our country in the United States Navy and was a communicant of St. Catherine Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Theresa "Terri" Meinck of Columbia, Kathleen "Kooker" (Lloyd) Snyder of Levittown, Pa., and Margaret "Pegi" (Jerime) Thurston of Coupville, Wash.; two granddaughters, Jennifer Snyder of Fairless Hills, Pa., and Patricia Snyder of Shirleyburg, Pa.; two sisters, Mary (Al) Lippman and Joan Meinck both of New York; a brother, Bernard (Mary) Meinck of New York; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Meinck.
Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus of St. Catherine Catholic Church.

She was the daughter of the late Sam and Martha Breeding Green. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Jo Ann Fry and Ruth Herd; and one granddaughter.
