Mrs. Donna Sue Demastus Gibson
Mrs. Donna Sue Demastus Gibson, widow of Donald Gibson and resident of Stewart Street, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Wallace and the Rev. Jim Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 38 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of Annie "Sue" Dark Demastus of Columbia and the late James Carl Demastus. She was a 1957 graduate of Culleoka High School.
She was employed by JRN, Inc. for 14 years, the last five of which she was Administrative Secretary for Mrs. John R. Neal. She was secretary for the Downtown Business & Professional Association and a supporter of the Maury County Animal Shelter.
Mrs. Gibson was an active member of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church where she served as secretary for the Administrative Council and was an active member of the choir.
Survivors in addition to her mother are one daughter, Suzanne (Scott) Supplee of Baltimore, Md.; one son, David (Lisa) Gibson of Lynnville; one sister, Nancy (Jimmy) Williams of Columbia; four granddaughters, Kayla Mae Gibson of Lynnville and Cassie Paton, Flannery Supplee and Elsbeth Supplee, all of Baltimore, Md.; and two nieces, Julie Williams of Columbia and Janet Williams of Murfreesboro.
Pallbearers will be Forace Chapman, Malloy Cummins, Jimmy Curry, Alfred "Bubba" Edwards Jr., Ronnie Gibson, Bobby Moore, Hollis Moore, David Riley, Willie Palmer, William Sanders and Robert "Petey" Matthews.

Marian Renee Horton
Marian Renee Horton, 36, employee of Asurion of Nashville, died Thursday, April 1, 2004, at Vanderbilt Medical Center.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church on Wayne Street with the Rev. N. Curtis Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Jackson Street Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville and after noon Monday at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

The Maury County native was the daughter of Woodrow Wilson Horton Sr. and Mary Ruth James Horton of Columbia. She graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1985 and received an Associate Degree from Columbia State Community College in 1988. She was a member of Jackson Street Missionary Baptist Church of Nashville.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, Woodrow Wilson (Brenda) Horton Jr. of Columbia; five nephews, Gen'Taris Horton, La'Trance Horton, Meco Childress, Cedrick Childress and Cord Childress; four aunts, Clara Wray, Wendolyn Eli, Patricia Bey and Charlet Jones; one great-aunt, Mildred Thomas; three uncles, Jesse James, Clarence Horton and Robert Leslie; and a host of other relatives, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Manuel Young, Stanley McCoy, Larry Jones, Phillip Holt, Donald Sharp, Vernon Ward, Keith Hall and Tracy Miles. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Zanolli, Darrell Wray and Winston Brown.
James Everett Greathouse
LEWISBURG - James Everett Greathouse, 85, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at his residence.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Lone Oak Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Friday until the service hour at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home.
He was the son of the late James Albert and Bessie Thurman Greathouse. He was retired from Whirlpool and a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Anna Thurman Greathouse.
Survivors include a sister, Reba Perryman of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

CENTERVILLE - Gene Daniel, 64, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Life Care Center of Centerville.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at McDonald Funeral Home with Donnie Craig officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Centerville. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was the son of the late Charlie Daniel and Leatha Osborne. He was a truck driver and worked in construction for Hardaway Construction. He was a member of the Pinewood First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Dean Daniel of Lyles; a son, Brent Daniel of Lyles; and a brother, Chester Daniel of Lascassas.
Velinda Diane Qualls
LAWRENCEBURG - Velinda Diane Qualls, 44, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at her residence.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home with Don Goodrum officiating. Interment
will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday.
She was the daughter of Oit and Lucille Griggs Qualls. She was a nail technician and member of the Calvary Hill Church of God.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include sisters, Larue Qualls and Kathy Brazier, both of Lawrenceburg.
Herman H. Adams
LAWRENCEBURG - Herman H. Adams, 77, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Neal Funeral Home with Brett Hickey, Randy Burns and Johnny Fisher officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Chapel Grove Cemetery.
He was the son of the late Luther F. Adams and Pearl Poss Adams. He was retired from Tennessee Tufting Mfg. Co., a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Brookside Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Mitchel Adams of Old Hickory; daughters, Maria Dee Gist of Indianapolis and Janice Carolyn McQuery of Mt. Juliet; a son, Herman H. Adams Jr. of Old Hickory; sisters, Bobbie Ezell of Southgate, Mich., Fay Evans of Athens, Ala., and Frances Angus of Rogersville, Ala.; a brother, J.T. Adams of Summertown; and three grandchildren.
Nadine Goad Harris
Mrs. Nadine Goad Harris, 88, a resident of Greenview Drive in Columbia, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Graveside services for Mrs. Harris will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Knob Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Harvell Stockard officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Claude and Stella Haywood Goad and wife of the late Burton Howard Harris. She was a homemaker and a member of the Knob Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Claudia (Harold) Autry of Gallatin, Dolores (Asa) Ambrister of Nashville and Wanda (John) Dillon of Garden City, N.Y.; one son, Burton Sherrell (Nina) Harris of Rutherfordton, N.C. ; a brother, Glenn (Phyllis) Goad of Columbia; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, soon to be born .

Mary Evelyn Hackney Whitaker
MT. PLEASANT - Mary Evelyn Hackney Whitaker passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2004, at her home in Mt. Pleasant.
She was the owner and operator of Melrose Beauty Shop for more than 40 years. She also was an employee of Maury Regional Hospital for 18 years as an Advance Nurse Technician.
Services for Mrs. Whitaker will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Ironside Primitive Baptist Tabernacle with the Rev. Percy Clark officiating. She will lie in state at Chavers Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant from 2:30-8 p.m. Friday. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m.
She will lie in state at Ironside Primitive Baptist Tabernacle from 11 a.m. until time for the services Saturday. Burial services will be held at Pinecrest Memorial Cemetery in Columbia.
Survivors include two daughters, Joycelene Whitaker Johns of Mt. Mrs. Lucille Kirk 'Teal' Tillman

Born on a farm in the Isom Community on Cathey's Creek in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late George Omri Kirk and Emily Jeanette Brown Kirk. She was educated in Maury County schools and was a graduate of Columbia Central High School.
A member of the Church of Christ for more than 80 years, she was a member of the Cathey's Creek Congregation in her early life. Later, she was a member of the West Seventh Street Church of Christ for a number of years and currently was a member of the Graymere Church of Christ.
She enjoyed cooking for others and serving as a Superstar Volunteer at Maury Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Tillman was a long-time employee of Gordon's Ladies Shop and Holloway's Ladies Shop and co-owner with Mr. Tillman of the Fountain Drive-In Restaurant. She was married July 3, 1937, to Paul Ewing Tillman who preceded her in death Jan. 20, 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosemary (John D. II) Stites of Cookeville; a son, Wallace Kirk (Kay) Tillman of Culleoka; five grandchildren, Kimberly Kirk Tillman of Flower Mound, Texas, Kelly (David) Shewmaker of Leawood, Kan., Jonathan Wesley (Ashlee) Stites of Southlake, Texas, David Kirk (Candice) Stites of Cookeville and Benjamin Tillman (Elizabeth) Stites of Cookeville; five great-grandchildren, Madison Taylor Shewmaker, Elizabeth Brooke Shewmaker, Emerson Kate Stites, Sadie Caroline Stites and Anna Kathryn Stites; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Ewing Tillman; two sisters, Mrs. W. E. (Hinda) McClellan and Mrs. Charles (Betty) Walker; and a brother, Paul Kirk.

Mr. Shelby Huey
Services for Mr. Huey will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Randy Kersey and Hueston Marshall officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens.
The Dyersburg native was the son of the late Russell and Fannie Jacobs Hughey. He was the widower of Hazel Isabell Huey. He was a retired supervisor for Mobil Oil Company in Mt. Pleasant. He was a carpenter and furniture builder and a member of Scribner's Mill Church of Christ.
He is survived by a son, Tony Huey of Columbia; four grandchildren, Chris Huey and Shannon Huey, both of Summertown, and Tiffany Huey and Miranda Huey, both of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Georgie Shelley and Azalene Jupitner; two brothers, Raymond Hughey and William Hughey.
Pallbearers will be Tony Endsley, George Endsley, Richard Yates, Jerry Vaughn, Buddy Smith and Billy Stone.
Honorary pallbearers will be nurses and staff of Life Care Center and members of Scribner's Mill Church of Christ.
