Katherine "Killy" Killebrew Early
Katherine "Killy" Killebrew Early was born April 9, 1906, in Mt. Pleasant, moved to Nashville in 1912 and moved to Columbia in 1938, and she died in Columbia on Nov. 29, 2002, at the age of 96.
Born to Donna Frierson and George Wimberley Killebrew, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Rufus Morgan Hickey III (died May 17, 1934) and John Early Jr. (died April 6, 1973); two children, Margaret Early Ross and John Killebrew Early; and her brothers, George Wimberley Killebrew Jr., James Granbery Killebrew, Joseph Buckner Killebrew, John Frierson Killebrew, Robert Sterling Killebrew, Williams Langley Killebrew; and sisters, Martha Killebrew Lanier and Helen Killebrew Rooney.
She is survived by her daughter, Wimberley Hickey Burnett (Naud) of Nashville and Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren, Catherine Cowan Brock (Paul) or Lookout Mountain, Ga., James "Buck" Harrison Cowan (Susan) of Dallas, Texas; Frederick Lee Blank III (Melanie) of Nashville, John Fletcher Blank (Nicole) of St. Louis, Mo., and Lawrence Blank-Cook (Charlie) of Nashville; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was a graduate of Tarbox School, Miss Annie Allison's, Ward Belmont in Nashville and attended Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, La. She attended and worked at Camp Nakanawa for nine years an was Lady of the Cup.
She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and served on the boards of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Junior League of Nashville, James K. Polk Association, Guided Circle Chapter of King's Daughters' School and Quaestio Club and the Columbia Garden Club. She was an avid gardener and a Realtor with Early and White Realty.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Columbia with the Rev. William W. Williamson officiating. The family will receive visitors prior to the service beginning at 9 a.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church and King's Daughters' School.

LAWRENCE - Kenneth Ray Cothren, 49, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003 at Crockett Hospital.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Neal Funeral Home with Bill Brazier and Fulton Smith officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Bumpas Cemetery.
He was the son of Maxine Cothren and Emma Nola Williams Cothren. He was employed at Murray Inc. and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Romona Cothren; sons, Joey Cothren, Chad Cothren; daughters, Tracy Moore, Amy Cothren; brothers, Mike Cothren, Wendell Cothren all of Lawrenceburg; sisters, Carol Davis of Florence, Ala.; Donna Martin of Knoxville; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Alberta George Bartch
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Alberta George Bartch, 96, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Lawrenceburg, died Sunday, April 13, 2003, at St. Petersburg General Hospital.
Survivors include his sons, William (Toots) Crowder of Columbia and Wilson (June) Crowder of Mobile, Ala.; brother, Dr. C.D. George of Columbia; sisters, Geneva George Jardet of Knoxville and Jeanette George Laney of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Helen Caherine Evers
LAWRENCEBURG - Helen Caherine Evers died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at her residence in Lawrenceburg.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Buchignani officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30 -9 p.m. Friday, at Neal Funeral Home with Rosary at 7 p.m.
She is the daughter of the late Andrew and Alma Kraus Remke. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Marion F. Evers of Lawrenceburg; a daughter, Janice N. Evers of Nashville; sons, Michael A. Evers and Robert V. Evers both of Lawrenceburg; brothers, Clarence Remke and Edward Remke both of Lawrenceburg and James Remke of Avila, Ind; a sister, Nell Remke of Lawrenceburg; and two grandchildren.

Dorothy Beatrice Owens Brown
LAWRENCEBURG -- Dorothy Beatrice Owens Brown, 84, of Summertown, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Neal Funeral Home with Tommy Clark officiating. Burial will be in Hinestown Cemetery in Lewis County.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She was the daughter of the late Henry Owens and Wayman Owens and was also preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Denzil Brown.
She was retired from Ross's Corner and was a member of Summertown Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Cathy Brown of Summertown; grandsons, Larry Brown and Danny Brown, both of Summertown; a step-grandson, Michael George of Muncie, Ind.; four great-grandchildren, all of Lawrenceburg; and three step-great-granddaughters.
Mrs. Charles Mae Jaco Enochs
LAWRENCEBURG -- Mrs. Charles Mae Jaco Enochs, 80, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at her residence.
Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Neal Funeral Home with Edward Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Houser Cemetery.
She was the daughter of the Late William Jaco and Sarah Young Jaco. She was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Enochs.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Enochs of Lawrenceburg; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Willie Carl Cochran
CENTERVILLE - Willie Carl Cochran, 74, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairchild Church of Christ with Mike Kelley and Stan Smith officiating. Burial was in Charles L. Nickell Memorial in Centerville.
He was the son of the late George Cochran and Dorothy Jenkins Canady of Centerville. He was retired postmaster of Centerville Post Office and a member of Hickman County Civitan Club, Hickman County Art Guild and Fairfield Church of Christ.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Floy Cochran of Centerville; daughters Sheila Brady and Chiquita Wright, both of Centerville; son, Darin Cochran of Centerville; brother, Donald Canady of Nashville; sister, Wilma Orton of Centerville; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Linda Jean Bumstead
Mrs. Linda Jean Stirewalte Bumstead, 45, a resident of Mack Branch Road in Lynnville, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, from injuries suffered from an auto accident.
Services for Mrs. Bumstead will be conducted at 6 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Redwing, Minn., she was the daughter of Barbara Stirewalte and the late Dennis Stirewalte. She was employed at the Saturn Company and showed horses as a hobby.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, Bryan Bumstead of Columbia and Brent King of Lynnville; two sisters, Roxane Humphrey of Minnesota and Teressa Hodge of Kansas City, Kansas; a brother, Denny Stirewalte of Minnesota.
Charles Thaxton Johnson
LAWRENCEBURG - Charles Thaxton Johnson, 83, of Lawrenceburg, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at Crockett Hospital.
Services were held Saturday at Neal Funeral Home with Brother John Olvares officiating. Burial with full military honors was held in Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrence County.
The Davidson County native was the sone of the late William H. Johnson and Willie Lee Sampson Johnson. He was a business machine salesman and repairman and a World War II veteran. He was a member of Calvary Hill Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a wife, Nadine Stricklin Johnson.
He is survived by three daughters, Velvet Johnson of Lawrenceburg, Carole Silan and Peggy Litherland, both of Charleston, S.C.; four sons, Guerry Johnson, Johnny Johnson, Michael Johnson, all of Charleston, S.C., and Thaxton Charles Johnson Jr. of Greenville, S.C.; stepsons, James Wise of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Johnny Wise of Irving, Texas; stepdaughter, Victoria Wise Neely of Tampa, Fla.; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Lola Belle Martin Balinger
LEWISBURG - Mrs. Lola Belle Martin Balinger, 93, of the Wheel Community, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg.
The Coffee County native was the daughter of the late James Arthur and Jetty Ada Ayers Martin. She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alva Balinger, who died in 2000.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Wheel Cemetery in Bedford County with Norman and Carol Jacobs officiating.
She was survived by a daughter, Donna Balinger of Lewisburg; a son, Dana Balinger of Cornersville; sisters, Jewel Johnson of Dacatur, Ala., Mildred Kilgore of Madison, Ind.; brother, William Benny Martin of Huntsville, Ala.; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Russell Fullerton
Russell Fullerton, 79, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at Maury Regional Hospital.
The Paris native was the son of the late Orin and Ora Belle Morrison Fullerton. He was a veteran of WWII by serving in the Navy and was retired from Heil-Quaker. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Joanne Campbell of Cornersville; a son, Kenneth Fullerton of Shelbyville; sister, Lorrene Beard of Petersburg; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Mae Dodson Fullerton; a son, Jerry Fullerton; and two brothers, James Bandy and Jack Capley.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial in Sunset Park.

David Soloman Hunter
LAWRENCEBURG - Mr. David Soloman Hunter, 86, of Florence, Ala., died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at El Reposo Nursing Home in Killen, Ala.
The Winston County, Ala., native was the son of the late Jasper and Callie Orton Hunter, husband of the late Helen Wilson Hunter, father of the late Debra Hunter Calvert, a retired worker and farmer and a member of Unity Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Unity Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg with the Rev. Michael McNutt officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Point Cemetery in Leoma. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
He is survived by two sons, Troy (Ann) Hunter of Florence, Ala., and Dr. Ronald (Jennifer) Hunter of Kingsport; sister, Eunice Keener of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

LAWRENCEBURG - Mr. Dempsy Burns Jr., 69, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Pettus-Turnbo Chapel with Brother Joseph Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Knob Creek Cemetery. The wake will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
The Haines City, Fla., native was a maintenance mechanic for the city of Lawrenceburg and a member of West Gaines Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Allen Burns of Lawrenceburg; son, James Burns of Haines City, Fla.; stepsons, Collis Colllier Jr., Jerry Collier and Ricky Collier, all of Lawrenceburg; sister, Jessie Burns of Haines City, Fla.; four stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
