Mr. Richard D. Stephenson, 65, a resident of Jefferson Drive in Columbia, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Stephenson will be conducted Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Riverside United Methodist Church with Reverend Ray Newell officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Macedonia Cemetery in Kuttawa, Kentucky. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
The Memphis native was the son of the late Joe W. and Estelle Dunevant Stephenson and husband of LaWanda Doom Stephenson of Columbia. He retired as a self-employed draftsman designer and was formerly a contract project engineer for Sverdup of Nashville. He designed several homes and buildings in the Middle Tennessee area. He was an active member of the Riverside United Methodist Church, former member of the Columbia Kiwanis Club, and an avid gardner. He served our country in Korea being in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Doug Stephenson of Lanai, HI; a daughter, Kay (Jeremy) Haywood of Columbia, TN; a sister, Joanne (Bobby) Conner of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Kyle Haas, Brittany Haywood, and Jordan Haywood all of Columbia, TN; two sisters-in-law, Ella Stephenson of Memphis, TX and Pam Johnson of Houston, TX; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, David Stephenson and Warren Stephenson; a sister, Sarah Clara Stephenson.
Pallbearers will be Lavon Hooie, M.T. Potts, Cecil Conner, Emory Cole, Clarence Southall, and Tom Hoffman. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Jim Hewgley Sunday School Class and men of the Riverside United Methodist Church, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hutto, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sanders.

Mr. John Frances Caldwell, 91, a resident of Fly Road in the Santa Fe Community, died Saturday, March 20, 2004 at Columbia Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Caldwell will be conducted, Monday, March 22, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rick Points officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late James Edward and Emma Harris Caldwell. He was a retired factory worker and a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by two daughters, that live in Ohio; two sisters, Pearl Walters of Santa Fe, TN and Esther Mae Harris of Tullahoma, TN; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rhody Brady and Ruby Caldwell; three brothers, Leslie Caldwell, Bill Caldwell, and Robert Caldwell.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Thompson, Andy Brumit, William Caldwell, Leon Walters, Nelson Brady, and James Brady.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Paul Perryman and the nurses and staff of Columbia Care & Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. J. M. “Butch” Sisk, 67, a resident of Cross Bridges Community, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Sisk will be conducted Monday, April 19, 2004 at 12:30 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Anthony Muston and Scott Frakes officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens . The family will visit with friends Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of Mrs. Margaret Holt Sisk of Cross Bridges and the late J. B. “Jesse” Sisk. He was the husband of Kay Bolin Sisk. He was a long-time owner and operator of Butch’s Market in Mt. Pleasant and a former rural mail carrier for the Williamsport area. He was a member of the Viola Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Jeff (Tammy) Sisk of Mt. Pleasant, TN; a daughter, Debbie (Tim) Vincent of Franklin, TN; a step-daughter, Rhonda Kay (Billy) Carroll of Hampshire, TN; a sister Ruby (Tommy) Johnson of Columbia, TN ; grandchildren, Daryn Sisk, Zachary Sisk, Josh McConnell, Jacob McConnell, Briar Carroll, Madelyn Vincent, Meagan Vincent; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a step-son, Walton Bailey.

Ms. Pamela Lee Lipscomb, 53, a resident of West 15th Street in Columbia, died Sunday, June 27, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.
A private family memorial service will be at a later date. Williams Funeral Home in Columbia is in charge of the arrangements.
The Akron, Ohio native was the daughter of Ethel Pearl Holler Lipscomb of Oregon and the late Wilmer Lee Lipscomb. She was an employee of the Whirlpool Corporation in Lavergne and a member of the Lutheran Church. Life journey’s took her to California, New York, Nevada, Louisiana, and Tennessee. She struggled in life, freed by passing.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Albert Sydney and Elise Kelly Boyd and wife of the late James Porter Young. She was a retired sewing operator for Tennessee Knitting Mills and a member of West 7TH Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son Jim (Patsy) Young of Columbia; two daughters, Peggy (John) McCoy of Jackson, TN and Rosemary (Eddie) King of Columbia; grandchildren, Shawn Christopher (Karen) Bryan of Maryland, William Jennings (Virgia) Bryan of Wyoming, Michele Adkins and Sarah Lee Young, both of Columbia; several great grand children; two sisters, Ada (Frank) Pike of Mt. Pleasant and Mildred (Gardner) Head of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Floyd Davis, Mary Ella Roberts, Beatrice Fox, and Alice (Arthur) McNeese; two brothers, Albert Harold Boyd and James Andrew Boyd.

Mr. James Thomas “Tom” Garrett, 60, formerly of Rushmore Drive in Columbia, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at his residence in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Huntsville, Alabama native was the son of the late James and Ethel Victoria Allen Garrett. He was the husband of Debi Farris Garrett of Huntsville. He was a graduate of MTSU and served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam era. He was currently a realtor for Ben Porter Real Estate in Huntsville. He was a former employee of Quest Diagnostics Laboratory, Med Tech at Baptist Hospital in Nashville and American Red Cross in Birmingham. He was former owner and operator of TG’s Ice cream Shop in Shady Brook Mall.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Summer Victoria Garrett of Mobile, AL; a son, Matthew Thomas Garrett of Mobile, AL; a granddaughter, Mauria Elizabeth Allen of Mobile, AL; two step-daughters, Shannon Lea (Brian) Scheri and Jenny (John) White both of Florence, AL; three step-grandchildren, Rachel Ann Massey, John Paul White, and Neely Grace Scheri all of Florence, AL.

The Marshall County native was the son of the late James Alerston and Evie Ann Collins Eley. He was the husband of Edna Dennis Eley. He was retired owner and operator of Eley’s TV Service and Sales and was formerly associated with Hardcastle Motor Company for 26 years. He was a member of the North View Church of Christ and former member of the Columbia Rotary Club. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Dan) Jaynes of Columbia, TN; three grandchildren, Ross Eley Jaynes, Elaine Danielle Jaynes, and Ronda Ann Eley all of Columbia, TN; a daughter-in-law, Betty Ann Eley of Columbia, TN; a sister, Anne Glenn of Franklin, TN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Dennis Eley; 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
