Karen Jo Price, 47 of LaFollette, passed away Aug. 5, 2008 at her home. She enjoyed working in the yard and cooking. She was a loving sister and aunt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Price; parents, Dewey and Aileen Shoffner Smith.
She is survived by her brother and sister in law, Dewey and Loura Smith of Jacksboro; brother, Leslie Smith of Jacksboro; nephew, Jeremy Smith of Mt. Juliet; niece, Emily of Duff; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Aug. 8 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with the Rev. Don Chadwick officiating. Interment
was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
Maggie Louise Lynch Blankenship
Maggie Louise Lynch Blankenship, 81 of Indian Mountain, Jellico, passed away Aug. 19, 2008 at Jellico Community Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia and husband, Sillus “Spig” Parrott; son, Charles Eddie Lynch of Atlanta, GA; special daughter, Wanda Perez of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Donna and husband, Wally Voyles, Johnny Parrott and wife, Tammy of Jellico; great grandson, Zakk Voyles; seven step grandchildren and 16 step great grandchildren; special god daughter, Christy Parrott Phillips; sister in law, Martha Violet Silcox of Lakeland, FL; several nieces, nephews and host of friends.
Funeral services were held Aug. 21 in the Llewellyn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Jackson officiating. Interment
was in the Douglas Cemetery.

Ben F. Cooley
Ben F. Cooley, 58, of Jacksboro, passed away Aug. 19, 2008 at his home. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Caldwell Cooley; parents, Lucian and Laura Belle Cooley; brothers, Billy Cooley, James Cooley; sister, Julia Caldarea Bush; nephew, Greg Scott.
He is survived by his daughter, Angel Cooley and Rick Cook of Jacksboro; son, Tommy and Barbara Cooley of Ohio; daughter in law, Marsha Gilbert; grandchildren, Cain Womble and Tasana Gilbert; brother, Dale Cooley and wife, Mary Ann of Ohio; sisters, Sue Marsh of Ohio, Sadie and Ed Strunks of NC, Ina and husband, Jr. Scott of Oliver Springs; father in law, Tommy Caldwell; sisters in law, Becky Cooley of Oliver Springs, Dorothy Green of Jacksboro; brother in law, Andrew and Emily Caldwell of Jacksboro; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Aug. 22 in the Cross-Smith Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Moser officiating. Interment
was in the Carroll Cemetery.

Christopher Keith Finley
Christopher Keith Finley, 46, of LaFollette, passed away Aug. 20, 2008 at his home. He was adopted into the Lanape Indian Tribe, where his name became Christopher No Horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin Charles and Wilma Jean Smith Finley.
He is survived by his sisters, Debra Wynn and husband, Rodney of Oak Ridge, Shelia Reene Sellers and husband, Allan of LaFollette; brother, John Kevin Finley of LaFollette; son, Christopher Keith Sweat of LaFollette; the love of his life, Angie Claxton and her children Corey and Gracie Yohey; two nieces and two nephews; a host of other relatives and many friends.
At his request, a cremation has taken place and a memorial service is planned and will be announced at a later date.

Eliza Alice Hutson
Eliza Alice Hutson, 85, of Jacksboro, passed away Aug. 20, 2008 at St. Mary’s Health and Rehab. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She retired after 40 plus years from Imperial Reading. Her family was her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Franklin Hutson; parents, Fred and Elizabeth Wier Vinsant; brothers, Joe, Vance, and Geral Deen Vinsant; sister, Isador Ridenour.
She is survived by her brothers, Don Vinsant of Gladstone, VA: sister and brother in law, Kathleen and Carlos Daugherty; sister, Mary Ellen Allen all of Jacksboro; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Aug. 23 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Mullins officiating. Interment

Lawrence Madron
Lawrence Madron, 71 of LaFollette, passed away Aug. 25, 2008 at his home. He was a member of Glade Springs Baptist Church. He retired from General Motors in 1985 in Kettering, Ohio. He enjoyed church, the mountains, fishing and four wheelers and loved his family very much. He was a hard worker and provided for his family and put others before him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Alice Queener Madron; sisters, Frankie Cole and Helen Powell.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Madron of LaFollette; son, David Madron of LaFollette; daughters and sons in law, Deborah and Billy Harris of Dayton, OH, Linda and Bill Whiteman of Franklin, OH, Sandra and Ira Bizzell of GA; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. on Aug. 28 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with the Rev. Hobert McCreary and Rev. Chris Stanley officiating. Interment
will be at 11 a.m. on Aug. 29 in Powell Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 28 before funeral service.
Peggie Miller
Peggie Miller, of Speedwell, passed away Aug. 13, 2008 at her home.
She was preceded in death by parents, Virgie and Everett Fisher; brother, Carl Fisher.
She is survived by her husband, John K. Miller of Speedwell; daughters, Pamela Beckham and husband, Steven of Ocala, FL, Penny Hunsberger and husband, Mark of Elwood, IN, and Dalene Braden and husband, Barry of Blairsville, GA; five grandchildren; brother, Frank Fisher of Arcadia, FL; special friends, Alicia Cooper of Arcadia, FL, Kathy Stockman of Troy, AL, Nancy Cooper of Boynton Beach, FL and Shirley Cox of Morley; several other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held Aug. 17 in the Walters Chapel with Rev. Jerry Gray officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Campbell County Cancer Association, 124 Woodvine St., Jacksboro, TN 37757.

James F. Nelson
James F. Nelson, 94 of LaFollette, passed away Aug. 21, 2008 at his home. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his sons, Jimmy Nelson and Don Nelson, parents, William Henderson Nelson and Kizzie Parrott Nelson, brothers, Ira Nelson and Charles Nelson; sisters, Reba Morton, Nell Miller and Hazel Rhoden.
He is survived by his daughter in law, Judy E. Nelson of LaFollette; daughter, Gail Kesling of Millington, TN; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Fayetta Gray and husband Art of LaFollette, Willie Davenport of Atlanta, GA, Dean Bryson and husband Joe of Sauk Village, IL, Betty Haley and husband Rex of Hernando, MS; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services and interment
were held Aug. 30 in the Victory Cemetery with Rev. Merle Campbell and Rev. Anthony Leach officiating. Full military honors were conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

Elmer Patterson
Elmer Patterson, 80 of the Dutch Valley Community in Clinton, passed away Aug. 24, 2008 at his residence. He was born July 20, 1928 in Anderson County to the late Nickey and Cora Duncan Patterson. He was a retired coal miner from Consolidated Coal Company. He was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Lake City. He enjoyed squirrel hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a mason for the Order of the Eastern Star and Red Man Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Joyce Patterson; grandchildren, Pamela Lynn and Anthony Phillips; great granddaughter, Grace Morgan Phillips; brothers, Authur and Ervin Patterson; sisters, Lillie Mae Bunch, Stella Moore, and Virgie Tedder, nephew, Herman Patterson.
He is survived by his sons, C.E. Patterson of Clinton, Ray Patterson and wife, Sandy of Briceville; Kenny Patterson and wife, Lisa of Clinton, Alvin Patterson and wife, Veronica of Lake City; daughters, Helen Powers and husband, Dennis of Clinton, Bertha Phillips and husband, Arvil of Clinton, Kathy Phillips and husband, Lester of Wartburg; sisters, Ruth Webb and husband, James of Harriman; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Aug. 27 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Daugherty and Rev. Lee Phillips officiating. Interment
was in the Patterson Cemetery.
