Jonathan Dale (John) Pierce
Jonathan Dale (John) Pierce, age 38 of Jacksboro passed away June 3, 2006. He was of the Apostolic faith.
He loved fishing tournaments, boating, four-wheeling and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred and Suddie Pierce of Clairfield and Rev. Conrad and Betty McGill of Harrisburg, Ill.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Irene Pierce of Jacksboro; sons, Jerrett and Jon Dillan Pierce; father and mother, Otis and LouAnn Pierce of LaFollette; brothers, David Pierce of LaFollette, Stephen and wife, Tracey Pierce of Jacksboro, Micah Pierce of LaFollette, Terry Joe and wife, Sandy Gill of Brookeville, Ind; 27 nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held June 7 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Carpenter, Rev. Kevin Hopkins and Rev. Allen Shepherd officiating. Interment icon will be at 11 a.m. on June 8 in the Queener Cemetery.
Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Miles Edwin Esterlin Rosenfeld
Miles Edwin Esterlin Rosenfeld, age 16 months of Caryville passed away May 31, 2006 at the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in Knoxville.
He is survived by his mother, Nancy Rosenfeld of Caryville; grandparents, Julie and Frank Esterlin of Beaver Creek, OH; brothers, James and Wesley Rosenfeld of Caryville; sisters, Cassandra Rosenfeld of Dayton, OH, Mallory Rosenfeld of Caryville; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were held June 3 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Chaplain Sandy Foster officiating.
Interment was in the Rains Grove Cemetery.

Johnetta Louise Strunk
Johnetta Louise Strunk, age 60 of Tazewell passed away May 31, 2006 at the Claiborne County Hospital in Tazewell.
She was born in Rockcastle County, KY on January 28, 1945.
She was a seamstress, homemaker, and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Lori Lynn Bond; parents, John L. and Laura Mae Hayes Delph, and three sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Johnnie O. Bond of London, KY, Randell Bond of Newton, NC, Joe E. Jackson, Timmy Lee Jackson and Tommy Wayne Jackson all of LaFollette; daughters, Laura Ruth Nebras of Ft. Meade, MD, Katerina Francis Alcorn and Kathy Elaine Bond both of Mt. Vernon, KY; brother, George E. Delph of Brodhead, KY; sister, Gracie Mason of Mt. Vernon, KY; seventeen grandchildren; one great grandchild.
Funeral services were held June 4 at the Dowell and Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Vernon, KY with interment icon in the Skaggs Creek Cemetery.
Dowell and Martin Funeral Home Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Douglas Turner
Douglas Turner, age 75 of Elk Valley passed away May 30, 2006 in Middletown, OH.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daily Turner; mother, Lizzie Hensley; wife, Frankie Muse Turner; sister, Ann Combs.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Sue Turner of Elk Valley, Elizabeth Walp of Middletown, OH; step daughter, Pearl Dyer of Mount Orb, OH; grandchildren, Scarlett Broyles of Elk Valley, Regan Walp of Middletown, OH, Carl Ray Walp of Middletown, OH, Lauren Hackworth of Mount Orb, OH, Jacob Dyer of Mount Orb, OH; sister, Darlene of Jackson, KY; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held June 4 at the Elk Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. David Napier officiating.
Interment was in the Valley View Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard.
Harp Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Joyce Ruth Ward
Joyce Ruth Ward, age 20 of Newcomb passed away May 28, 2006 in Clairfield.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, William Bud Marcum.
She is survived by her father and mother, David and Betty Ward of Newcomb; brother, David Lee Ward of Newcomb; grandparents, Joyce and Ben Ward of Newcomb, Nannie Ruth Marcum of Newcomb; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held June 1 at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Ayers and Rev. David Morgan officiating.
Interment was in the Douglas Cemetery.
Harp Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Vola M. Barnes
Vola M. Barnes, age 84, of LaFollette, passed away Oct. 4, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County after a long illness.
She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She was a member of Big Creek Gap Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. W.B. and Mossie Honeycutt Miller; brother; Charles Miller; sister Geraldine Arnett.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Elery (Dude) Barnes of LaFollette; daughter and son in law, Susan and W.L. Grimes of Caryville; sons and daughter in law, Elery Barnes of Spring Arbor, MI, Todd and wife, Janet Barnes of East Aurora, NY; grandchildren, Zack Turner, Jeremy, Christopher, Benjamin, Nicole, Stephen, Nathan and Sarah Barnes, Ryan, Bailey and Joel Sanek; five great-grandchildren; brothers, James Clyde Miller of Spring City, Kyle Mille of Monroe, MI; sister, Etta Johnson of Tazewell, Donna Lynch of Thorn Hill; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Oct. 6 in the Cross Chapel with the Rev. Carlo Bruce officiating.
Interment was in the Leach Cemetery.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Gregory Joel Burress
Gregory Joel Burress, age 40, of Huntsville, went home to be with the Lord, Oct. 4, 2006 at Scott County Hospital.
He was a member of Nicks Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
He loved to read and talk to his friends.
He was preceded in death by his daddy, Clifford Burress; grandparents, Roy and Bessie Burress, Virgil and Tillie Burress.
He is survived by his mother, JoAnn Burress; brother and special sister in law, Danny and Gini Burress, all of Huntsville; nieces, Shanion and husband, Marcus Lowe, Beth Burress, Sabrina Burress; special great niece, Shaylah Bowlin.
Funeral services were held Oct. 7 at Nicks Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Lowe, Rev. Demus Lowe and Rev. Keith Massengale officiating.
Interment was in the Nicks Creek Cemetery.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
