Leah Elizabeth Smith
Leah Elizabeth Smith, age 18 of Clinton, passed away April 11, 2006 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was a member of the First Dutch Valley Missionary Baptist Church. She was born September 26, 1987 in Marietta, GA. She was a senior at Clinton High School. She loved to play the piano, shopping and singing in church. She also loved animals, especially her cat “Farley.”
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Artie Smith and Condon Letner; aunt, Mildred Seeber.
She is survived by her parents, James and Carol Smith of Clinton; grandmother, Sarah Letner of Smyrna, GA; sisters, Lauren Smith, Moriah Smith and Olivia Smith, all of Clinton; many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends
Funeral services were held April 14 at the First Dutch Valley Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Armes and Rev. Jeff Parrott officiating. Interment
was in the First Dutch Valley Missionary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the First Dutch Valley Missionary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Building Fund.

Mildred (Mikki) Warwick
Mildred (Mikki) Warwick, age 79, of the Stinking Creek Community, passed away April 14, 2006 at St. Mary’s of Campbell County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Warwick.
She is survived by special friends, Charles and Bonnie Meredith, Mark Meredith, all of Stinking Creek and Brenda Perkins of Newcomb.
Graveside services and interment
were held April 17 in the Campbell Memorial Gardens.

Gregrey Scott Angel
Gregrey Scott “Scotty”Angel, age 26 born September 13, 1979 passed away at Jellico Hospital on April 30, 2006.
He is survived by wife, Melissa Angel; mother, Wartisha Morgan; brother, Christopher Morgan; two children, Dakota Angel and Joseph Lowe; grandmothers, Glenna Angel and Phyllis Miller; aunts and uncles, Caterina and Lloyd Tracy Heatwole, Floyd E. and Sarah Angel, Elvira “Vidy” and Dale Ward, Patrick and Renee Angel, Randy and Anna Miller; and a host of cousins, Dana, Steven, Jasun, Hollie, Audrianna, Danielle, Jeremy, Russell, Taylor, Madison, Holt, Gavin, Tom, Chris, Angel, Nick, and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services were held March 3 at the Harp Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Morgan officiating. Internment was held in the Douglas Cemetery.

Dean T. Buderer
Dean T. Buderer, age 64, of Pioneer went home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2006 at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice in Knoxville following an extensive illness. He was of the Catholic Faith. He was born in Sandusky, OH on June 3, 1941, and proudly served in the U.S. Army between the years of 1958-1961. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and spent a few years as an officer with the Sandusky police department. In 1968, he married Lynn (Trout) and moved to Erie, PA where he lived for many years before relocating to Tennessee in 1990.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Irving and Wilma Jean (Gall) Buderer and sister, Virginia Rose.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Lynn; step-mother, Winifred Buderer of Amherst, OH; daughter, Lalena and husband, Mark Caputo and daughters Katharyn Buderer of Pioneer and Kathryn Fortner of Bickmoore, West Virginia; son (grandson whom he helped raise), Justin Slowikowki, age 16; two granddaughters, Kalyn and Deana Harper, ages 12; two brothers, John of Cleveland, OH, and Robert of Medford, OR plus numerous brothers and sisters-in-laws and friends.
Friends may call at Walters Funeral Home on May 12 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. with services to follow with Father Joe Campbell officiating. military Honors will be conducted by Campbell County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Mary’s Hospice or to the Campbell County Honor Guard.

Mary “Marge” Christopher
Mary “Marge” Christopher, age 72, devoted wife of James Christopher, beloved sister of five sisters and one brother and preceded in death by two sisters, also survived by a mother in law, sister in law, 32 nieces and nephews and many friends passed away May 8, 2006 in Norwood, OH.
Funeral services were May 10 at the Community Missionary Baptist Church in Norwood, OH. Services will be held at Harp Funeral Home on May 11 at 7 p.m. where friends may call from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Internment will be held on May 12 in the Odd Fellow Cemetery in White Oak at 11:30 a.m.

Hugh Claiborne
Hugh Claiborne, age 87 of LaFollette passed away May 8, 2006 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. He loved farming and cattle. He was a Campbell County School bus owner and operator of bus #15 for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Bertie Bartley Claiborne; brothers, Frank, Clyde, Lawrence and Evert Claiborne; sisters, Mae Green and Velma Smith Ivey.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Jean Claiborne of LaFollette; three dogs, Flopsy, Princes and O.J.; brother, Ray Claiborne of LaFollette; sister, Ollie Heatherly of Jacksboro; aunts, Ola Woods and Dola Queener both of Jacksboro; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. on May 11 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Jeff Armstrong officiating. Interment
will be at 2 p.m. on May 12 in Powell Valley Cemetery and Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday night before funeral services.

John (Ringo) Day, Jr.
John (Ringo) Day, Jr., age 75, of LaFollette, passed away May 1, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was an employee of Campbell County Road Department for over 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Stella Wilson Day; sons: Mack and Johnny Day.
He is survived by his wife, Della Lynch Day of LaFollette; daughter and son-in-law, Sharrion and Peanut Bruce of LaFollette; granddaughter, Shay and husband, Jeff Partin of LaFollette; grandson, Jason Clear of Jacksboro; great grandson, Tommy Mack Partin of LaFollette; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were May 3 at the Cross Chapel with the Rev. Bill Braden and Rev. LeRoy Braden officiating. Interment
will be at 11 a.m. on May 4 in the Jones Cemetery. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Christine DeBord
Christine DeBord, age 79 of LaFollette passed away May 2, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was a member of Beech Fork Baptist Church in Caryville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Thompson and Ethel Byrge Thompson; husband: Herbert DeBord; brothers, Walter and Charlie Thompson and Billy Ray Sampsel.
She is survived by her sons, Ronnie, Jerry and Danny DeBord; sisters, Aline Perry, Audrey Webb and Pat Ward; brother, M.C. Sampsel; grandchildren, Amy and Salina DeBord; great granddaughters, Caitlyn and Kimberly Ivey.
Funeral services were held May 4 in the Cross Chapel with the Rev. James Adkins officiating. Interment
was in the Bakers Forge Cemetery.

Ruth E. Foster
Ruth E. Foster, age 74 of LaFollette, passed away May 6, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. She attended Faith Way Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Melton and parents, Everette Angel and Mollie Gibson
She is survived by her daughters, Doris Simmons and Betty Benge, both of LaFollette; sons, Jimmy Melton of Gainesville, GA and Michael Melton of Nebraska; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
All services were private.
