Brenda Gail Comer Marple
Brenda Gail Comer Marple, age 54 of LaFollette passed away April 6, 2006 at the Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a good mother and grandmother. She loved dancing and was a doll collector. She had a big collection of dolls.
She is survived by her children, James Marple of Strawberry Plains, Jeffrey Marple of LaFollette, Dustin and Rachel Comer of Seymour; father, George B. Comer of Clinton; mother, Edith Comer of LaFollette; grandchildren, Paige, Jasmine, and Cody Marple all of Sevierville, brother, Gary Comer of LaFollette; sisters, Debra Bolton of LaFollette. Valerie Fateley and Patricia Proffitt both of Clinton; special friend, Betty Wier; many special friends and extended family; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were April 9 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. LeRoy Braden and Rev. Ronald Reagan officiating. Interment
was in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

Keithal Grimes Thompson Reynolds
Keithal Grimes Thompson Reynolds of LaFollette was born June 28, 1942 and passed this life on April 5, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was a member of Bear Wallow Baptist Church of Caryville. She was loved by everyone she met; bringing a smile to the faces of those she loved. Bragging about her grandchildren was the one thing she was most proud of. She was a very talented piano player, playing the music by ear and only gospel music, in fear God would take away the talent he so graciously gave her. She has waited 30 years to be reunited with her only true love, husband of 19 years, Bob Homer Thompson. Also preceding her in death are daughter; Kathy Elledge, son; Ricky Thompson, and parents; Lonnie and Aline Grimes.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Thompson and children, Ethan, Christian and Kalyn Steakley of Lindsay, OK; son, Michael Thompson and wife, Pam and children, Kelsey, Kayley, Dylan and Megan of Jacksboro; grandchildren, Christy, Courtney and Keely Elledge; brother, W.L. Grimes and wife, Susan of Caryville; great grandson, Caleb Henderson and Hunter Knight.
Funeral services were April 9 in the Cross Chapel with interment
in the Jacksboro Cemetery.

Virginia Smith Sanders
Virginia Smith Sanders, born August 17, 1932 to the union of the late Rev. Leonard W. and Rose Bazel Smith, entered blissful peace and eternal rest on March 24, 2006 after a brief battle with cancer. She was loved by many and all who met and knew her will remember her for her smile, sense of humor and love for life. She began working at an early age and continued until October 2005 due to failing health.
She will find peace in the valley along side her parents and surrounded by her husband, Frank; sisters, Helen Smith and Bessie Hensley; brother, Frank and L.A. Smith.
As she makes the journey to take her place in God’s Kingdom, she leaves to cherish her loving memories her children, Ruby Hall, Norman (Margie) Smith and Bernice Watson; sister, Lillian Mitchell, all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Shawntall Watson of Austin, TX, Adrianne Watson, Paul Hall, Monica and Arneisha Smith; three great grandchildren; devoted niece, Wanda Houston, all of Knoxville; sister in law, Dorothy Waver Smith of Montgomery, AL; an enormous amount of family and friends including devoted friends, Ruby Jarrett, Melvin Robinson and others of Montgomery, AL.
Funeral services were held April 1 at the Unity Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. R.N. McGhee officiating.
Interment was in the Highland Memorial Park.

Gertrude Frances Scott
Gertrude Frances Scott, age 82 of Clinton, passed away April 10, 2006 at her residence.
She was a member of the New Life Church Of The Nazarene in Oak Ridge.
She loved reading and studying the Bible, sewing and spending time with family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was born March 31, 1924 in Knoxville to the late Lonnie and Ida Emery Swatzell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Scott; daughter, Brenda O’Donnell; brothers, Johnny and Paul Swatzell and sister, Lillian Baker.
She is survived by her sons, Clyde Scott and wife, Connie of Moultrie, GA, David Scott and wife, Deborah of Knoxville; daughters, Faye Idles of Clinton, Donna Duncan of Clinton; sister, Ruth and Jim Sellers of Knoxville; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 13 at the New Life Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Timothy Fields officiating.
Interment was in the Leach Cemetery.

Gilda V. Wilkens, age 97 of Elk Valley passed away April 4, 2006 at her home with Dr. Charles and Bonnie Wilkens.
She was born February 13, 1909 in Kingston, Jamacia, the daughter of the late Frederick L. Isaacs and Murrybelle Bonitto Isaacs.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry F. Wilkens on Nov. 1, 1986.
She is survived by her daughter, Louise Pires and husband, Charlie of Portland; sons, John Wilkens and wife, Edith of Spokane, WA; Dr. Charles Wilkens and wife, Bonnie of Elk Valley; grandchildren, Barry Wilkens and wife, Terry of Scottsdale, AZ, Dr. Keith Wilkens and wife, Joyce of Spokane, WA, Pastor Carl Wilkens and wife, Teresa of Days Creek, OR; Kevin Pires and wife, Karen of Clyde, NC, Randy Pires and wife, Pam of Cohutt, GA, Dr. Greg Wilkens and wife, Deidre, Dr. Todd Wilkens and wife, Marsharee, Dr. Darryl Wilkens and wife, Laura; Kerri Boone and husband, husband, Steve, all of Elk Valley; 24 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild on the way; brother, Charles Clark and wife, Phyllis of Escondido, CA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held April 8 at the Jellico Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Kevin Doe and Pastor Carl Wilkens officiating. Interment
was in the Douglas Cemetery.

Brenda Faye Haynes Ausmus, age 56 of Alcoa, formerly of Speedwell passed away April 16, 2006 at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville. She was a member of Shipley Grove Church of God. She loved gardening and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Haynes; sister, Betty Leach.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Ausmus English of Harrogate; mother, Margaret Ranies Haynes of Speedwell; special friend, James Murr of Alcoa; brother, Jim Haynes of Speedwell; sisters, Pat Shawback of LaRose, Il, Sharon Bolinger of Speedwell, Connie Cochran of Middlesboro, KY, Debbie Shoffner of Speedwell; grandchildren, Cody Medley and Lexxus English; special niece, Tammy Clemons and several other special nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services were April 19 at the Reece Valley Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gaylor officiating.
Interment will be April 20 at 11 a.m. in the Hill Cemetery.

Florence Lowe Byrd Lawson Boshears, age 86 of Jacksboro passed away April 9, 2006 at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville.
She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
She loved gardening and her family very much.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alfred Byrd, Joe Delus Lawson and Gifford Harold Boshears; children, Uneeda Pearl Duncan, Lydia Bessie Phillips, Harold Dean Lawson, Arthur Artemus Lawson, Pauline Lawson, James Clarence Lawson, Samuel Thomas Lawson; infant girl Lawson; parents, James Andrew and Talitha Anderson Lowe; brothers, Posey and Delois Lowe; sisters, Kizzie and Mary Carroll, Kansa Jordan and Perna Sharp; grandsons, George Gary Phillips, Thomas Daniel Lawson; granddaughters, Belinda Lawson and Debra Sue Chambers; great grandson, Gary Lee Jeffers.
She is survived by her sons and daughter in laws, JL and Anna Rose Bowling Lawson of Norma, Alonzo and Anna Ruth Bowling Lawson of Helenwood; daughters and son in laws, Arlene and Luke West of Helenwood, Mildred Otter of Maynardsville, Willie Anna Bailey of KY, Jennifer and Edward Junior Boshears of Norma; 22 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were April 11 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Tommy Reese and Rev. Jeffrey Phillips officiating.
Interment was in the Antioch Cemetery.
