Roma E. Shelby
Roma E. Shelby, age 92, of LaFollette, passed away Jan. 2, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. He was owner and operator, with his brother Marion Shelby and son Glenn, of Shelby Grocery Store for over 60 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of LaFollette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anderson H. Shelby and Samantha McNeeley Shelby; stepmother; Martha Shelby; brothers, Marion, Luther and Bill Shelby; sisters, Nora Robbins, Maggie Miller, Hettie Housley, Stella Heatherly, Mary Housley, Alma Snodderly Sebaugh, Ann Blankenship and Vietta Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Lee Claiborne Shelby, LaFollette; son, Glenn and Judi Shelby, Jacksboro; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Elizabeth and Jack Higdon, Charlotte, NC; grandsons, Robert J. Higdon, Jr. and wife, Corinne, Cary, NC, John Shelby Higdon and wife, Jill, Greenville, SC; great-grandsons, Clay and Matthew Higdon.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5 in the Cross Chapel with Rev. Lane Harris officiating. Interment
was in the Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.

Earnest Ward
Earnest Ward, age 72 of Clinton passed away Dec. 28, 2005 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was born June 5, 1933 in Anderson County. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman, and thoroughly enjoyed nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Haskell and Elizabeth Braden Ward; son, Bobby Ward; sister, Bertha Jones
He is survived by his wife, Cherree Ward of Clinton; sons, Ernest Buck Ward and wife, Claudia of Clinton, Billy Ward and wife, Lisa of Aurora, Ill; daughters, Deborah Sentell of Clinton, Brenda Price and husband, John of Chicago, Ill; brothers, Virgil Ward of Lake City, Clay Ward of Clinton; sister, Alice Fugate and husband, Bill of Chicago, Ill; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Dec. 30 in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Moore officiating. Internment was in the Brown’s Flat Cemetery.
Hatmaker Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Roy Woody Wilson
Roy Woody Wilson, age 70 of LaFollette passed away Dec. 30, 2005 at the St. Mary’s Select Specialty in Knoxville. He was a member of the Eagles Club. He loved his dog, Sassy. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains and loved his family very much.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Alexander Scott Goins; parents, Albert and Molly Jordan Wilson; brothers, Levi, Alonzo, John D. and Ira Wilson; sisters, Vessie, Ada and Della Wilson.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Jerryl Ann and Gary Smith and Vessie and Gary Richardson all of Jacksboro, Glenice (Sissy) and Bob Powell of Duff, Ada Wilson of Ind.
Funeral services were Jan. 1 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Lewis Reynolds officiating. Interment
was in the Wilson Cemetery.

Alice Waller Baker
Alice Waller Baker of Loveland, OH born December 7, 1942 in Jellico, passed away Jan. 2, 2006 in her 63 rd year.
She was the wife of late Walter R. Baker; mother of Diana (Nathan) Smith, Jeffrey Baker, Bradley (Vicki) Baker, Walter (Julia) Baker, Jr. and Joseph Baker; grandmother of Joshua Adkins, Jonathan Baker, Caitlyn Bolin, Aaron Baker, Jacob Baker, Nicole Baker, Brandon Baker, Jordan Baker and Zachary Baker; sister of Thelma Wright, Roy Waller and the late Jean Chitwood, Wilma Hamby, Andrew Waller and Nathaniel Waller; dear friend of Rick Shank.
Funeral services were held at the Loveland Park Baptist Church in Loveland, OH on Jan. 7. Interment
will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mason, OH.

Myrtle Welch Beeler
Myrtle Welch Beeler, age 91, of Knoxville passed away Jan. 5, 2006 at Hillcrest West Nursing Home in Knoxville. She was a member of Faith Way Assembly Of God.
She was preceded in death by parents, Charlie and Susan Anna Riley Welch; daughter, Helen Boling; brothers, Luther and John Welch; sisters, Mary Leach, Emma Brackett, and Ethel Mallonnee.
She is survived by her sons, Ervin Treadway, Jr. of Franklin, NC and Jimmy Ray Treadway of Leisure City, Fla; daughter, Ann Sneed of Knoxville; sister, Dallas Sowder of Knoxville; 14 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Jan. 7 at the Cross Chapel with Rev. Steve Bruce and Ronnie Treadway officiating. Interment
was in the Wilson Cemetery.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Norman H. Brosmore
Norman H. Brosmore, age 57 of Speedwell passed away Jan. 8, 2006 at Claiborne County Hospital in Tazewell. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Elizabeth Brosmore.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Brosmore of Speedwell; son, Gregory Darin Peck and wife, Susan of Caryville; grandsons, Alexander, Austin and Adam all of Caryville; stepmother, Alice Brosmore of Newport, KY.
Private graveside services were held at Braden Cemetery with Rev. J. C. Monday and Rev. Bob Owens officiating.

Rose E. Conley
Rose E. Conley, age 80 of LaFollette, formerly of Jellico passed away Jan. 4, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. She was born January 30, 1925 at Jellico, KY. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Maggie Lewis Troxell.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry M. Conley.
She is survived by her sons, Terry Conley of Cartersville, GA and Bobby Conley; brothers, Lawrence Troxell of Crossville, Richard Troxell of Fairfield, OH; sisters, JoAnn Dotson of Crossville, Hazel Murray of Fairfield, OH, Louise Baker of Jellico.
Graveside services were held Jan. 7 at the Stanfill Cemetery at Pleasant View, KY with the Rev. Lester Cox officiating.
Cox and Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Freeda F. (Lambdin) Davis
Freeda F. (Lambdin) Davis, age 82, of Morristown, formerly of White Oak, passed away Jan. 9, 2006 in Morristown. She was a resident of Heritage Nursing Home and a member of Anthras Baptist Church. She was employed at Imperial Reading Shirt Factory for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Naomi (Rookard) Lambdin; brothers, Charles Raymond and Jay Franklin Lambdin; former husband, Thomas J. Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Kay Parrott, Morristown; sisters, Veda Overton, LaFollette, Martha and husband, Roy Ashcraft of Dayton, OH.
Funeral services were Jan. 11 at Cross Funeral Home Chapel with Dr .Larry Parrott officiating. Interment
will be at noon on Jan. 12 at Oddfellows Cemetery.
