Doris Jean Jessie, age 62 of Jacksboro died Jan. 12, 2005 at her home. She was a member of Ford Town Baptist Church. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who loved the Lord and was a Christian all of her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Bedford Evans.
She is survived by her husband, Dallis Jessie of Jacksboro; son and daughter-in-law, David and Virgie Jessie of Caryville; daughters and sons-in-law: Lisa and Shane Hatmaker of Jacksboro, Denise and Kent Leadbetter of Knoxville; grandchildren, Savannah and Sierra Jessie and Beth Wade; mother, Gladys Virginia Lay Evans; brother, Glen Evans of Caryville; sisters, Betty Phillips of LaFollette, Wanda Norton of Jacksboro and Ruth Huff of OH; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were Jan. 15 at the Ford Town Baptist Church with Rev. David Hicks and Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Internment was in the Campbell Memorial Gardens. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Josie Marlow
Josie Marlow, age 76 of Jacksboro died Jan. 5, 2005 at her home. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Horne and Frankie Hill Wallace; husbands, Estle Gibson and Arnold Marlow; grandson, Christopher Lowery; brothers, Roy, Edgar, Edward, Willie and Walter Wallace; sister, Bertha LeMarr.
She is survived by her children, Joyce and Ernie Golden of Livonia, MI, Clinton and wife, Josie Marlow of Jacksboro, Lena and husband, Normand Gaudreau, Honolulu, HI, Diane Lowery and husband, Don of Jacksboro, Arnell and wife, Dianna Marlow of Jacksboro, Carl and Rhonda Marlow of Knoxville; sister, Louise Marlow of Caryville; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were Jan. 10 at Cross Chapel with Rev. Charles Richey and Rev. Daniel Marlow officiating. Interment
was in the Marlow Cemetery. Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Katherine Francis Pickle Parrott
Katherine Francis Pickle Parrott, age 80 of Trenton, MI, formerly of LaFollette died Jan. 12, 2005. She was owner of the Vogue Beauty Salon was dedicated to her clients for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Parrott; son, George; parents, Frank and Virlie Pickle; brothers, Gordon and John Pickle; sister, June.
She is survived by her children, Margaret and James; grandchildren, Megan Pratt and Ian Hoehl; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Grace, Katherine and Otto; brothers, Owen Pickle and Roy Pickle; sisters, Liz Drake, Ann Moore and Barbara Jo Carroll; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements were by the Martenson Funeral Home, 3200 West Road, Trenton, MI 48183.
Matthew Newton Seal Jr.
Matthew Newton Seal Jr., age 60 of Jacksboro died Jan. 11, 2005 at the East Tennessee Respiratory Clinic. He was a resident of the Reflections Home in Jacksboro. He enjoyed going to Dollywood, was a big UT fan and sports fanatic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Lettye Seal; aunt, Margaret Seal.
He is survived by many friends and the staff of Bright Horizons and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services were Jan. 13 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Interment
was in Campbell Memorial Gardens.

John Raymond Ulmer Sr.
John Raymond Ulmer Sr. age 62 of LaFollette died Jan. 15, 2005 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He was a member of the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, car racing and spending lots of time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Love Heatherly Ulmer; brother, Kenneth Ulmer.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Ulmer of LaFollette; sons and daughters-in-law, John R. Jr. and Toyna Ulmer, Britton Dewayne and Susan Ulmer; and Michael Timothy Sr. and Barb Ulmer; daughter and son-in-law, Medrina and Timothy Richie; 12 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Chris Rightsell, Gary and Diana Ulmer all of MI; sisters and brother-in-law: Edith Kitts and Sandy Lambert both of LaFollette, Linda and Ron Ostander of MI; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were Jan. 17 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Partin and Rev. Randal Heatherly officiating. Internment was in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens and Cemetery.

James Aaron Underwood
James Aaron Underwood, age 62 of LaFollette died Jan. 13, 2005 at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a lifetime stone mason and had his ham radio licenses going by “Birddog”. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with grandchildren and family.
He was preceded in death by father: James Clyde Underwood.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Underwood of LaFollette; sons and daughters-in-law, Jamie and Susie Underwood of Jacksboro, Jack Underwood and Jason and Priscilla Underwood all of LaFollette; daughters, Jessie and husband Greg Williams of Knoxville, Jinger Yancey and Charlotte Underwood both of LaFollette; numerous grandchildren; mother, Grace Underwood; brother, Haroldene Underwood; sister, Martha Elizabeth Underwood all of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were Jan. 16 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Alvis Richardson and Rev. Bill Braden officiating. Interment
was in the Underwood Family Cemetery.

Connie Sue Lay Weaver, age 52 of Little Elk died Jan. 11, 2005 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Clifford Hicks; sister, Joyce Faye Hicks; parents, Caney and Lucy Hicks; husband, Ronnie Lee Lay; step-daughter, Debra Ann Weaver.
She is survived by her loving husband of 6 _ years, Billy Weaver of Little Elk, sons, Jeffrey Lay and wife, Michelle of Little Elk, Veanis Lay and wife, Jennifer of Jellico; step-daughters, Kimberly Monday of Duff, Sandra Terry of Duff,Jeannie Weaver of Jacksboro; grandchildren, Jeffrey, John Michael, Sydney, Ronnie Joe, Megan, Kimber, Jessica and Caitlin; mother-in-law, Catherine Weaver, Wolf Creek, KY; brothers, Herschel Hicks and wife, Linda of Little Elk, J.C. Lewis E. (Jack) Wilson
Lewis E. (Jack) Wilson, age 79 of Jellico died Jan. 15, 2005 at the Beech Tree Manor in Jellico. He was born Oct. 23, 1925 at Newcomb, the son of the late Iven and Lucinda Russell Wilson. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Gertie Bowlin Wilson of Jellico; son, Robert Wilson of Lakeland, Fl; daughters, Elizabeth Griffin of Independence, KY, Wanda Atkinson of Ocean Isle, NC, Linda Smither of Aurora, IN; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Jan. 18 at the Brick Plant Church of God with Rev. Jerry Yancey officiating. Interment
was in the Douglas Cemetery.

Paul Edward Bray
Paul Edward Bray, age 59 of Clinton, formerly of Lake City died Jan. 25, 2005 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born Dec. 29, 1945 in Anderson County. He was a member of Carroll Hollow Baptist Church. He was a big UT fan who loved riding his Harley and spending time with his family whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Bray.
He is survived by his mother, Elsie Bray of Lake City; wife, Lynn Bray; sons, Brandon Bray, Paul Bray; daughters, Melinda Jean Bray, RaeAnn Patricia Bray; brothers, Herbert Bray and wife, Jewell, Harold Dean Bray and fiancée, Tammy, all of Clinton; sisters, Pauline McMahan and fiancée, Lee Wicks of Heiskell, Peggy Sue Wolanin, Shirley Faye Matuszewski and husband, Mike, both of Cleveland, OH, Annette Lane and husband, Ray of Clinton and Freida Ann Foust and husband, Mike of Lake City.
