John Carroll, age 81 of Atascadero, CA formerly of LaFollette died Nov. 16, 2004 at the Vineyard Hill Health Care Center in Templeton, CA. He attended West LaFollette Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Brown Carroll; parents; one brother and half sister.
He is survived by his son, Gary Carroll of LaFollette; step-daughter, June Asavis of Atascadero, CA and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services and interment
were Nov. 21 in Campbell Memorial Gardens with Rev. Hobert McCreary officiating.

Margaret Ann Foust
Margaret Ann Foust, age 76 of Royal Oak, MI died Nov. 20, 2004. She was a very generous, giving and loving person.
Loving mother of David Foust and wife, Reggie, Donna Sadowski and husband, Ed, Tom Foust and wife, Mary, Debbie Leithauser and husband, Neil; proud grandmother of David, Danny, Natalie, Melissa, Laura, Tricia, Anthony, Evan, Brian, Daniel and Mercedes; five great grandchildren; sister, Virginia Richardson; brother, Harold Cooper.
Funeral services will be Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. in the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Harness and Rev. Lowell Elkins officiating. The family will receive friends Nov. 26 from noon until 2 p.m. at the Hatmaker Funeral Home Chapel. Interment
will follow the funeral service at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

Artie (Minton) Lay
Artie (Minton) Lay, age 93 of LaFollette entered into her well deserved heavenly rest at St. Mary’s Health and Rehab of Campbell County on Nov. 21, 2004. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a gentle, devout Christian lady who is leaving to her family and friends an outstanding Christian legacy of what a Christian should strive to be in this life. She accepted the Lord Jesus into her heart as a young adult and had a been a member of the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church for the past 45 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Lay; parents, Sam and Nettie Minton; twelve sisters and brothers and son-in-law, Harold Jenkins.
She is survived by a large and loving family, son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Shirley Lay of Rockford, IL; daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Jenkins of Louisville, KY, Betty and Ron Tidwell of LaFollette, Charlene and Donnie Jones of Oliver Springs, Barbara and Joe Powell of Louisville, KY; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Vernie Minton of Middlesboro, KY; special nephew, Arthur Massengill of Cincinnati, OH; niece and husband, Eula and Glen Miracle of Spring City, TN; also a host of other special friends and relatives. The family of Artie Lay would like to thank and recognize special friends and caregiver, Georgia Shepard and Jodi Whalen.
The family honored the home going of Artie Lay on Nov. 23 with her praise service conducted by her Pastor Rev. Mark Partin and Grandson Rev. Matthew Jones at Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. Grandsons and Great grandson will serve as pallbearers. The interment
will be held at the Baird Cemetery at noon on Nov. 24. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church Building fund at 580 S. Indiana Ave. LaFollette, TN 37766.

Jeanette Levine
Jeanette Levine, age 97 of LaFollette died Nov. 20, 2004 at St. Mary’s Health Care Center in LaFollette. She was born Aug. 18, 1907 in Anderson County. She was a member of the LaFollette United Methodist Church. She loved politics and was a member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Levine; parents, William C. and Minnie Nelson Patterson.
She is survived by her son, Q.V. Lienart and wife, Marie of Lake City; daughter, Barbara Simpson and husband, George of Knoxville; grandson, Quentin Lynn Leinart; granddaughters, Marilyn Ann Leinart and Marci Stewart; sister, Opal Lobertini of LaFollette; two great grandsons; several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Nov. 21 at the Hatmaker Funeral Home with Rev. Don Thomas officiating. Interment
was in the Leach Cemetery.

James Robert “Bob” Lindsay
James Robert “Bob” Lindsay, age 79 of LaFollette died Nov. 18, 2004 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, LaFollette. He was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired businessman, retiring from the LaFollette Cabinet Shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Bertha Lindsay; infant sister, Opal Lindsay.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Brown Lindsay; son, Robert Wayne Lindsay; daughter and son in law, Susan and Jasper Walden, all of LaFollette; brother, Frank Lindsay of LaFollette; sisters, Agnes Gross of LaFollette and Bonnie Marie Gross of Tampa, Fl; foster brother, Hudon Overbay; several nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Funeral services were Nov. 20 at Cross Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Arnold officiating. Interment
was in the Bakers Forge Cemetery with military Honors by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

Ernest Howard Massie
Ernest Howard Massie, age 87, loving husband, father and grandfather of Jefferson City died Nov. 15, 2004 at his home following a valiant battle with cancer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City, former Industrial Relations Manager at Jefferson City Magnavox and was a pilot with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a past president of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, Carson-Newman College Trustee and Advisory Board, Cherokee Health Systems Board of Directors, Jefferson County Rescue Squad Board of Directors, JCVC Board of Directors, Red Cross Board of Directors, and a recipient of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award from Carson-Newman College.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Linnise Sullivan Massie; parents, Louis and Lillie Mae Massie; sister, Meredith Murphy; brother, Raymond Massie.
He is survived by his daughters and sons in law, Joyce and Richard Couch of Livermore, Ca, Joan and Danny Bolden of Jefferson City, Jill Massie-Braun and Ian Braun of Jefferson City; son and daughter in law, Dewayne and Janet Massie of Knoxville; grandchildren, Kristin Couch, Erin Couch, Kevin Bolden, Kieran Braun, Nicholas and Elissa Massie; great grandchildren, Devin and Dylan Walker; sister, Martha Sigler, brother, William Massie; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
Funeral services were Nov. 19 at the First Baptist Church of Jefferson City with Dr. Gene Wilder officiating. Interment
was in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Gary Junior Miracle
Gary Junior Miracle, age 27 of Barbourville died Nov. 18, 2004 in Barbourville. He was born in Pineville on June 30, 1977 the son of Aileen Howard and Gary G. Miracle. He was of the Holiness faith and had been a cook at McDonald’s in Barbourville.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Elizabeth Wade Miracle; children, Raven and Mackenzy Miracle; mother, Aileen Howard; father, Gary Miracle; sister, Rebecca and husband, John Runion; grandparents, Anna Belle Howard and Eugene and Geraldine Miracle; parents-in-law, Clara and Danny Green; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were Nov. 20 at the Community Harvest Tabernacle with Rev. David Rice and Rev. Steve Bruce officiating. Interment
was in the Green Cemetery on Laurel Hill. Pallbearers were family and friends.

Benny R. Osborne, age 53 of Southaven, Mississippi died Nov. 13, 2004 at Baptist DeSoto Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby (Richmond) Osborne; father, Lawrence Osborne.
He is survived by his companion of 22 years, JoAnn Coleman of Southaven, Ms; brothers, Jack Coleman of Sidney, OH, Carl Osborne of Sidney, OH, Billy Osborne of Cedar Springs, MI, Ronnie Osborne of Belding, MI; sisters, Joann Deal of Union City, Ind, Sue Reynolds of Sidney, OH; half-sister, Rosalee Teague of Ind; a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Nov. 18 at Harp Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Johnson officiating. Interment
was in the Osborne Family Cemetery.
