Nona D. Petrey
Nona D. Petrey, 57, Caryville, died Saturday May 24, 2003 at her home.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Petrey is preceded in death by her mother, Alma Cummings Ward.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Petrey, Caryville; sons, Robert Nelson, Jr., Sweetwater, and James Johnson, Carleton, MI, Tony and wife Jill Petrey, Columbia KY, Trevor Petrey, Johnson City; daughters, Rhonda Wilkerson, Caryville, and Monica Hughes, LaFollette, Teresa Petrey, Claiborne County, Jill Petrey, Cumberland, KY; father, David Ward, Caryville; brothers, Lynn Ward, Jacksboro and Ben Ward, LaFollette; sister, Linda Watts, AL; nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, May 26 at Cross Funeral Home.
Rev. Orville Petrey officiated.
Interment was Tuesday, May 27 at Cumberland View Cemetery.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Willie Wayne Sweat
Willie Wayne Sweat, 82, Knoxville, formerly of LaFollette, died Thursday, May 22, 2003 at Fort Sanders Park West Medical Center.
She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Knoxville.
Her husband Harland Sweat precedes her in death.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Gary Summitt, FL; grandchildren, Geoffrey, Matthew and Benjamin; sister, Bill McWilliams, Atlanta, GA.
Graveside service and interment
was Sunday May 25 at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Rev. J. David Hester officiated.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Glen N. Bartley Sr.
Glen N. Bartley Sr., 79, LaFollette died Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was a member of the LaFollette United Methodist Church, a veteran of World War II, and a long time employee of Balloff’s Department Store in LaFollette.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Jones Bartley; parents, White and Luda, sisters, Marie Condrey and Jean Carden; brothers-in-law, Floyd Condrey, and J.T. Carden, and sister-in-law, Pauline (Polly) Bartley.
Glen is survived by his daughter, Linda Roberts, LaFollette, son, Glen N. Bartley Jr. and wife Kay, Andersonville; grandchildren, Chad Roberts and wife Tiffany, Jacksboro, Matthew Bartley and Olivia Bartley, both of Knoxville; brother, Kenneth Bartley, LaFollette; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be Thursday, October 2 at 8 p.m. Walters Chapel with Rev. Danny Hensley officiating.
Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 2 before the services at Walters Funeral Home.

Robert F. (Bob) Chadwell
Robert F. (Bob) Chadwell, 72, LaFollette, died Monday, September 29, 2003 at St. Mary’s of Campbell County.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur L. and Ethel Goins Chadwell.
He was a member of Midway Baptist Church, LaFollette Masonic Lodge #623 F. & A.M., Kerbella Temple & Shriners, and the Lyk-Nu Gang. He was affiliated with the Lost Squadron in restoring the World War II P-38 "Glacier Girl." He also served in the Army Aircorp. An avid woodworker and fisherman, he also loved restoring antique cars.
Robert is survived by his wife Molverine Chadwell; sons, Arthur Claude (A.C.) Chadwell, Kissimmee, FL, Michael Chadwell, LaFollette, daughter, Donna Dillman, Harrogate, grandchildren, Amanda Walden Lawson, Suzanne Walden Rouse and Jonathan Chadwell.
Funeral services were Wednesday, October 1 at Cross Chapel with Rev. Johnny Dabney officiating.
Interment will be Thursday, October 2 at 11 a.m. at Campbell Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 1 at Cross Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Mike Freeman, Bill Seiber, J.C. Brown, Lynn Goins, Mack Lay, and David McCulley and Earl Freeman was an honorary pallbearer.
Cross Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Chester Cox
Chester Cox, 85, LaFollette, died Monday, September 29, 2003 at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County.
He was a member of the Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Margaret Cox; brothers, David Cox, George Cox, Andrew Cox and James Luther Cox.
Chester is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends Wednesday, October 1 at Walters Funeral Home and then proceeded to the Davis Cemetery for graveside services with Rev. Pat Ayers officiating.
Walter Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Homer Harvey Creekmore
Homer Harvey Creekmore, 75, Jellico, died Thursday, September 11, 2003 at Jellico Community Hospital.
Homer is preceded in death by his parents, Everette and Sarah Creekmore; brothers, Ernest, Edd, Harold, Eugene and Hubert Creekmore, Charles Emby Creekmore.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Creekmore, Jellico; son, Charles Francis Creekmore, GA.; two brothers, Bill Creekmore, Newcomb, John B Creekmore, Jellico; three sisters, Rachel Roe, Sue Thomas, both of Jellico, Betty Ruth Corwin, Vail, County; several niece, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Sunday, September 14 in the Chapel of Harp Funeral Home with Reverends Ray Landes and Sam Walden officiating.
Burial was in the Douglas Cemetery.
Harp Funeral Home of Jellico was in charge of the arrangements.
