Charlcie June Monday Giles, 76, of LaFollette, died on Saturday, March 16, 2002 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County.
She was a member of Ford Town Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Quinton Giles; sons Jerry Wayne and Teddy Eugene Giles; grandsons Teddy Eugene and Eddie Giles; parents Charlie and Emma McNiel Monday; sister Ophie Moore.
She is survived by sons Billy and Bobby Joe Giles, both of LaFollette and Danny Giles of Jacksboro; daughters Linda Sue Comer, Betty June Wilhoit and Wanda Louise Wilhoit, all of LaFollette; brother Glenn R. Monday of Somerset, Ky.; sister Geraldine Waldo of Rockwood, Tenn., 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Randy Comer officiating. Interment
was in the Fincastle Cemetery.

Aubrey M. Hatmaker
Aubrey M. Hatmaker, 80, of Caryville, died on Saturday, March 23, 2002 at Hermitage Gardens Health Care in Oak Ridge.
She was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church of Lake City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orn F. Hatmaker, parents, Bertha and McKinley Jones, sisters, Thelma Lindsay, and Wilma Jones.
She is survived by daughters Annette Leinart of Lake City and Sandy Cox of Lake City; sisters Jean McCulley, Jewell Jones and Polly Keene; brother J. Will Jones and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, March 25 in the Cox Martin Chapel with Rev. Rick Teague and Gene Wright officiating.
An Eastern Star Memorial Service was held prior to the Funeral services by the Coal Creek Eastern Star#226.
Interment was in the Campbell Memorial Gardens in LaFollette.

Glenn Eugene Hill
Glenn Eugene Hill, 84, of Waynesboro, Pa., died on Saturday, March 23, 2002 at his home.
He was born April 15, 1917 in Campbell County. He served with the United States Navy during World War II in the Submarine Division in the South Pacific Theater, and also two years in the Korean Conflict as an information and education officer.
He then was based with the Submarine Base in New London, Connecticut.
He was discharged from active duty in 1946 and spent 16 years in the Naval Reserve where he served as a Division and Battalion Training Officer and Division and Battalion Commanding Officer and served with the National Defense Strategy Seminar and the National War College.
Prior to and following his military service, he was a special education teacher in Tennessee, a missionary, and later an adult educator, both of high school and college.
He served as a counselor, vice-principal, director of Job Corps (youth vocational training centers) in Harpers Ferry, WV and Catoctin, Md., and a program coordinator for the Natonal Park Services. Prior to the retiring in 1982, he was project manager for the Department of Labor, Assistant Regional Director (Job Corps) Department of Labor and a Director of Region III Department of Labor.
While living in Tennessee, He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He was also a member of Grace Baptist Church in Waynesboro. He was a member and past National Commander of the Holland Club (50 years Submarine Service Veterans Organization), member of Phi Beta Kappa, and Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 in Waynesboro.
He was preceded in death by parents Henry and Lassie Hill and one grandson, Shawn Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hill,; one daughter, Carol Hill and four sons, Jeff Hill, Ron Hill, and Dan Hill, all of Waynesboro, and Dave Hill of Chicago, Illinois; one brother, Morris R. Hill of Knoxville and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 28 in the Martin Wilson Funeral Home.
Burial will be held Friday, March 29, in the Woodlawn Cemetery with Full military services.

Floyd "Jack" Hughes
Floyd "Jack" Hughes, 74, of Chattanooga, formerly of LaFollette, died on Saturday, March 23, 2002 in Chattanooga.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce.
He is survived by wife Joanne Martin Hughes of Chattanooga; daughter Elaine Hyde of Benton City, Washington; sons CPO Floyd Jack Hughes of San Diego, Calif., six grandchildren; sister, Louise Ayers of LaFollette.
Funeral services were Tuesday, at Cross-Chapel with Dr. Paul Martin officiating and Interment
was in the Jacksboro Cemetery.

Dwight Lindsay
Dwight Lindsay, 48, of Lake City, died on Monday, March 25, 2002 at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
He was preceded in death by mother, Barbara Young Lindsay and brother, Danny Lindsay.
He is survived by daughter Stacy Hicks of Clinton; son Chris Lindsay of Clinton; ex-wife Sherry Lindsay Massengill of Lake City; father Jack Dempsey Lindsay of Robbins, Tenn., sisters Donna Patty of Seymour and Jackie Koontz of Robbins, Tenn.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 26 at the Holley-Gamble Chapel in Lake City with Rev. Brian Courtney officiating.
Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Lake City.

James Clifford "Skip" McCarty
James Clifford "Skip" McCarty, 91, of LaFollette, died on Saturday, March 23, 2002 at his home.
He was a member of LaFollette United Methodist Church and owner and operator of McCarty's Dress Shop in LaFollette for over 50 years.
He is survived by wife Evelyn Stout McCarty; son Mike McCarty of Huntingdon, Tenn.; daughters Hollins Wender, of Knoxville and Linda McKamey, of LaFollette, six grandsons and four granddaughters and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday at LaFollette United Methodist Church with Rev. Malcolm Wansley officiating.
Interment was in the Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials maybe made to the LaFollette United Methodist Church.

Sandra Gay Claiborne Orick
Sandra Gay Claiborne Orick, 65, of Knoxville, died on Sunday, March 24, 2002 at UT Medical Center of Knoxville.
She was a member of Jacksboro United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father Escle Claiborne.
She is survived by her husband Everette Glen Orick of Knoxville, brothers Lavern Claiborne of LaFollette; mother Nina Claiborne of LaFollette.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 27 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Darrell Ross and Rev. Leonard Dabney officiating. Interment
was in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
