Jimmy Terry, 61, of Clairfield, died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002 at the Jellico Community Hospital.
He is survived by sons Williams Allen Terry of White, Ga., Jimmy Terry Jr. of In., brothers Eugene Terry of Eagan, Jerry Terry of Bean Station, David Terry of Duff, and Ronnie Terry of Clairfield; sister Teddie Lynn Ruffner of Knoxville.
Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 28 at the White Oak Church of God with Rev. Paul Cox officiating.
Interment was in the Terry Family Memorial Cemetery.

Cush Adkins
Cush Adkins, 80, of Lake City, died on Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.
He was involved in several businesses, including AKP Coal Company and other ventures and opened Volunteer Mining.
He was a member of Covenant Life Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Adkins; his parents, Howard and Pearl Adkins and brother, Hodge.
He is survived by two children, daughter, Grova Disney of LaPorte, Colorado, his son, Dan Adkins of Oak Ridge; two sisters, Mandy Gerard of Portsmouth, Ohio and Toni Canterbury of South Williamson, Kentucky and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Covenant Life Church in Lake City with Pastor Tony McAfee officiating.
Interment was in the Oak Ridge Memorial Park.

Wilma Jean Allen
Wilma Jean Allen, 67, of Caryville, died on Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at her home. She was a member of the Demory Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by parents, E.L. and Jane Boshears Morton, brother, Albert Morton; sisters, Josie Belle Overby and Sara Lena Buckner, an infant brother and sister.
She is survived by husband, Burgin Allen of Caryville; daughter Deborah Carter of Caryville, one granddaughter and two great-grandsons; brother, Robert Morton of LaFollette; sisters, Maureen Shoun of Maryville, Tenn.; Vermon Morton and Novella Wynn; Delphia Eldridge, all of LaFollette, Helen Grant of Va.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 22 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Partin and Rev. Ray Siler officiating. Interment
was at the Pond Cemetery.

Betty Lorene Bennett, 67, of Chillicothe, Illinois, formerly of LaFollette, died on Sunday, March 17, 2002 at Largo Health Care Assisted Living Center in Largo, Florida.
She was preceded in death by parents, John Hildrith and Anna Mae Bennett; brothers Donald and Bobby Bennett.
She is survived by son Jeff Bennett of Largo, Florida; sister Mary Hatmaker of LaFollette; brother Glenn Bennett of Germantown Hills, Illinois; two grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 20 at The Lewis W. Mohn Funeral Home.
Interment was in the Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Largo, Florida.

Bertha Faye Blank
Bertha Faye Blank, 59, of Caryville, died on Sunday, March 24, 2002 at her home.
She was a member of Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death by parents, Henry and Ruth Overton, sister, Patsy Green and brother, Garland Overton.
She is survived by husband, Johnnie Blank, of Caryville; daughter, Rebecca Bowman of Clinton, Odetto Mallicote, Roxanne Blank and Henrietta Goins, all of Caryvillle; brothers, R.J. Overton of Jacksboro, Arnold Overton of New York, Carl Overton of Jacksboro and Leonard Overton of Jacksboro; sisters, Bobbie Lowe of Ohio and Charlene Jones of Knoxville.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 27, at Cross Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Smith officiating.

Robert Fredrick DeMeza
Robert Fredrick DeMeza, 78, of LaFollette, died on Monday, March 25, 2002 at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County.
He was a member of Campbell County Honor Guard and the VFW.
He was preceded in death by wife Effie Hawk DeMeza; brother George DeMeza and sister Arlene DeMeza.
He is survived by sons Robert DeMeza of LaFollette, Lawrence and Henry DeMeza both of Cleveland, Ohio; daughter Sharon Diane Johnson of LaFollette; step-daughter Virginia Mills Hawk of Chattanooga, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced later.

Maucie Cleo Hooper Fortner, 92, of Speedwell, died on March 25, 2002 at Tri State Manor Health Care.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Fortner; brothers, Otto, Leo and Ulyse Hooper; sisters, Eunice, Juanita, Rachel, Waletta, and Pawnee.
She is survived by sons, Ferndee Fortner of Speedwell, Paris M. Fortner of Erie, Mich., five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday at Reece Valley Chapel with Rev. Larry Collins officiating.
Interment was in the Carr Cemetery.
