Christine L. McClellan, 77, of Kettering, died, Saturday, Feb. 2, 2001, at the Greene Memorial Hospital. She was a devout Christian.
She is preceded in death by her husband James A. McClellan.
She is survived by daughter Barb Daniels of Tipp City; sons Jim McClellan of Adrian, Mich. and Ron McClellan of LaFollette; sister Phyllis Holmes of Dayton; and grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Tobias Funeral Home in Dayton. Interment
was held in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in her memory.
Charlie Nelson
Charlie Nelson, 89, of LaFollette, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at his home. He was a member of Murrayville Baptist Church,
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ollie Nelson; daughter Jerene Cox; parents Rose and Sarah Nelson; brother Dewey Nelson; grandson Travis Brantley.
He is survived by sons Lawrence, Herman and Monroe Nelson, all of LaFollette, Willard Nelson of Lawrenceville, Ga.; daughters Mattie Bowman, Nina Jo Brantley, Vonette Cadle and Brenda Ash, all of LaFollette; brothers Millard Nelson, of Bowling Green, Ky., Robert Nelson of Leonoir City, and Wheeler and Paul Nelson, both of LaFollette; sisters Callie Richardson of Lenoir City andEmma Jean Cooper of LaFollette; 26 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the Murrayville Baptist Church with Rev. J.L. Shoun and Rev. Virgil Farmer officiating. Interment
was held at Bakers Forge Cemetery.

Albert Nathan Prater
Albert Nathan Prater, 87, of LaFollette, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001. He was a veteran of WWII.
He was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Nancy Wright Prater; brothers Chester L. Prater and Ulis Prater; sister Martha Prater Robbins.
He is survived by wife Jessie M. Prater of LaFollette; daughter Gloria Jean Prater of LaFollette; sister Reva Prater and Maggie Prater Sharp both of LaFollette; brothers Frank Prater of LaFollette and Charlie Prater of Clinton.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 8, at Walters Chapel with Rev. Larry Russell officiating. Interment
was held in Bakers Forge Cemetery.

James L. Smiddy
James L. Smiddy, 30, of LaFollette, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at his home. He was a member of the Church of God International.
He is survived by wife Vivian L. Smiddy of LaFollette; children Sarah Smiddy, Anthony Smiddy, and Ethan Riggs, all of LaFollette, Amanda Riggs of Seymour, Joe Kenneth Riggs II and Heather Riggs, both of Alaska; parents James B. and Leona Smiddy of Newcomb; sisters Michelle Lovette and Wilma Bills, both of Kentucky; brother Steve Perry of Clairfield and Lewis Perry of LaFollette.
Funeral servieces were held on Wednesday at Walters Chapel with Rev. Orville Bumgardner officiating. Interment
was held in Davis Cemetery.

Harry P. Smith
Harry P. Smith, 73, of LaFollette, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Campbell County. He was a member of the LaFollette Baptist Church Temple.
He is survived by wife Geneva Smith of LaFollette; son Harry P. Smith Jr. of Pontiac, Mich.; daughters Scherlyn of Grand Rapids Mich, and Gwendolyn Skinner of Lansing, Mich.; sister Louvenia Shaw of LaFollette; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday at Cross Chapel with Rev. Charles Redmond officiating. Interment
was held in Monday Woodlawn Cemetery.

Juanita Hazel Smith
Juanita Hazel Smith, 77, of 127 Garden Ln., LaFollette, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was a member of the Duff Baptist Church. She belonged to the Senior Citizens Club.
She was preceded in death by husband Dewey Smith; parents Mack and Katie Seiber.
She is survived by daughters Sharon Henegar of LaFollette and Lois Reynolds of Duff; sister Myoma Seiber of Duff; brothers Mack Seiber Jr. of Duff and Clyde Seiber of LaFollette; and grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Roger Leach and Rev. Jim Wilcox officiating. Interment
was held in the Cumberland View Cemetery.

Hazel Pearl Stanfill. 82, of Jellico, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at Beech Tree Manor, Jellico.
She was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Hattie Creekmore Long; husband J.R. Stanfill.
She is survived by daughter Betty F. Kurdy of Mt. Clemens, Mich.; sister Maudie Smith of Jellico; 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 11, at the Cox & Son Chapel with Rev. Arlie Petree officiating. Interment
was in the Douglas Cemetery at Crouches Creek.

James Issac Stooksbury
James Issac Stooksbury, 77, of Jacksboro, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. He was a member of the LaFollette Church of Christ. He was retired from the Tennessee Highway Department after 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Issac Stooksbury and Minnie Oakes; brothers William and Richard Stooksbury.
He is survived by wife Cis Stooksbury of Jacksboro; sons David McCullet, Jimmy and Johnny Stooksbury, all of Jacksboro, and Danny McCulley of LaFollette; daughters Jane Vinsant, Vicki Shetterly, and Angie Allen, all of Jacksboro, and Judy Hatfield of Elyria of Ohio; sister Effie Webster of Clinton; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with Minister Steven Law officiating. Interment
was held on Monday, Feb. 12, in Jacksboro Cemetery.
