Joe Ann Overbey Dagley, 56, of Knoxville, died Sunday, August 13, 2000 at Fort Sanders Hospital in Knoxville. She was a member of West Lonsdale Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by; parents, Edgar Franklin and Josie Belle Morton Overbey. Survivors include; husband, Ferris "F. H." Dagley; daughter, Melissa Dagley of Johnson City; son, Michael H. Dagley of Knoxville; sisters, Charlotte Owens, and Connie Tackett, both of Caryville; brothers, Lewis Overbey of Knoxville, Frank Overbey of Port Charlotte, Florida; sixty-seven nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 15 at West Lonsdale Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Robinson and Bro. Jerry Dagley officiating. Interment
followed Wednesday, August 16 in Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to West Lonsdale Baptist Church Building Fund. Martin Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mary Ford
Mary Ford, 83, of LaFollette, died Sunday, August 13, 2000 at LaFollette Medical Center. she was a member of Long Hollow Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and singer.
She was preceded in death by; husband, Houston Ford; sons; Glen Ford, Eugene Ford, and two infant sons; parents, George and Martha Chapman Sharp; brothers, Hubert, James, Lyle, and Edsel Sharp; sisters, Ethel Sharp, Cleo Garrette, Jessie Riggs, Edna Braden, and Ruby Brown. Survivors include; sons, Jimmy Smith of LaFollette, and Michael Ford of Mountain City, Tennessee; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Georgia Creasman of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 16 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Comer officiating. Interment
will follow at 10 a.m. today (Thursday), August 17 in Sweat-Goins Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Martin Wilson Funeral Home.

Virgil M. "Gip" Gibson, 69, of Pioneer, died Friday, August 11, 2000 at Jellico Community Hospital. He was of the Church of God faith, and he was a C. B. enthusiast with the handle of "Gunstock. "
He was preceded in death by; parents, Fred and Julie Gibson. Survivors include; wife, Bobbie Gibson; daughter, Shirley Courtney of Muncie, Indiana; sons, Vaughn Gibon of Kettering, Ohio, Hubert Gibson, and Stephen Gibson, both of Pioneer, Danny Gibson of Jacksboro, and Dewayne Gibson of LaFollette; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Magdalene Shelton, Geraldine Shaw, and Lucille Ridenour, all of LaFollette, Imogene Hollifield of Jacksboro, and Irene Baird of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Charles Gibson of Lexington, Kentucky; several nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 12 at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Delmus Bruce officiating. Interment
followed Sunday, August 13 in Gibson Cemetery.
Mary Elizabeth Guy
Mary Elizabeth Guy, 72, of LaFollette, died Saturday, August 12, 2000 at her home. She attended Faithway Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by; husband, Douglas Guy; son, Jeffery Dean Guy; parents, Robert Lee and Bertha Miller Hunley; grandson, Jason "Voo Doo" Wells; and brother, Lee Hunley. Survivors include; sons, Douglas Wayne Guy of Powell, and Robert Scott Guy of LaFollette; daughter, Ingrid E. Forrester of LaFollette; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Robbie Sue Mattei of Dayton, Ohio, and Cecil Allen, and Naomi LeMarr, both of LaFollette.

Rev. Warner Hawkins
Rev. Warner Hawkins, 78, of Lake City, died Wednesday, August 9, 2000. He was pastor of Schultz Hollow Baptist Church for 20 years, and was former pastor of New Hope Baptist Church, Piney Grove Baptist Church of Heiskell, and New Canaan Baptist Church of Scott County. He was a veteran of WWII where he was a POW for 9 months, and received many Citations and Medals.
He was preceded in death by; parents, Levi and Elizabeth Hawkins; wife, Gladys Hawkins; brothers, Jay and Douglas Hawkins; sister, Bertha Murray; and step-son, Sammie Turnbill. Survivors include; wife, Mary Lou Hawkins; sons, Doug Hawkins of Chatsworth, Georgia, Tommy Hawkins of Briceville, Roger Hawkins of Lake City, and step-son, Steve Turnbill of Clinton; daughter, Barbara Massey of Lake City; step-daughter, Kay Ault of Lake City; brothers, Frank Hawkins of McMinnville, Roy Hawkins of Lake City, and Paul Hawkins of Rockwood; sister, Rose Byrge of Lake City; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Larry Lee Hull, Sr., 57, of Caryville, died Friday, August 11, 2000. He was a member of Vasper Baptist Church.
He is survived by; wife, Carol Hull; sons, Larry Hull of Thomaston, Georgia, and Shane Hull of Greenville, South Carolina; mother, Bernice Hull of Bridgeport, Illinois; grandchildren, Emily, Will, Brandon, and Bradley.

Killmer Phillips, 78, of Jacksboro, died Monday, August 14, 2000 at the LaFollette Nursing Home. He was a member of Cumberland View Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by; wife, Ora Cooper Phillips; daughter, Ruby Evon Phillips; parents, James and Martha McKamey Phillips; brothers, Willmer, Elmer, and Carlos Phillips, and an infant brother. Survivors include; daughters, Deann Young of Jacksboro, and Pamela Kay Phillips of Oneida; brothers, Virgil Phillips, and Ernest Phillips, both of Jacksboro, and Odia Phillips of LaFollette; sisters, Kilsie Henderson, Elsie Warman, Carrie Gross, and Geneva Shoun, all of Jacksboro, Frosty Henderson of LaFollette, and Oma Heatherly of Nashville; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

Rev. Otto VanBever
Rev. Otto VanBever, 77, of Speedwell, died Sunday, August 13, 2000 at Baptist Hospital in Knoxville. He was ordained to preach in 1960, and he was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, and retired from Middlesboro Coca-Cola.
He was preceded in death by; wife, LaRue Smith VanBever; daughter, Georgia VanBever Smith; parents, James B. and Nevada Pittman VanBever; brother, Lee Oris VanBever; and sister, Gracie Hurst Seiber. Survivors include; wife, Mary Winston VanBever; sons, William Theodore VanBever, and Marion O. "M. O. " VanBever, both of Speedwell; daughters, Betty L. VanBever Stacy of Harrogate, and Kara Edwina Inman of Speedwell; step-son, John B. Lane of Middlesboro, Kentucky; step-daughter, Barbara Partin of Rose Hill, Virginia; sister, Edith VanBever Janeway of Middlesboro, Kentucky; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

James Albert "Smiley" Anderson, 78, of Mountain Ash, Kentucky, died Sunday, October 1, 2000 at Jellico Community Hospital. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, and a member of Emlyn Church of God.
He was preceded in death by; parents, James Alvis and Haley Cox Anderson. Survivors include; wife, Sudie Anderson; son, Gary L. Anderson of Crestview, Florida; daughters, Diane Winger of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Donna Smith of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, John Anderson of Woodburry, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by; parents, Benjamin F. and Texie Miller Smith; step-mother, Edna Walters Smith; sister, Mary Smith Bullock; and brother, Dennis F. Smith. Survivors include; sister, Marcina Smith Myers of Ohio; brothers, Irving Smith of Michigan, Truman Smith of Ohio, and Cleadis G. Smith of LaFollette.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 6 at 2 p.m. at Roach Funeral Home with Rev. Leonard Dabney officiating. Interment
