Robert Eric Edmondson
Robert Eric Edmondson left us to be with his God on January 8, 2013. Eric was very loved and cherished. He graduated from Greenback High School in 1986 where he had more wonderful memories and friends than you could count. He was an amazing athlete and we were all so very proud of him. He was especially close to his basketball coach Eddie McCollum, who always made Eric feel truly cared for. He really loved you, Mr. McCollum, and we thank you for all you did for him. Eric then followed his basketball career to Maryville College, playing for the Maryville Scots. Eric enjoyed his time there so much. He made so many wonderful friends and was truly very, very happy. He was referred to as “E-bone” and was never without a Springsteen song for very long. We love that he had these times in his life. After graduating from Maryville College, Eric moved to Chattanooga and established Chattanooga Paint and Decorating. He was very successful not only from a business standpoint but by being surrounded by so many amazing people in his life. He was lucky to have each of you. Eric’s greatest accomplishment and proudest moment came on November 26, 1996, with the birth of one Molly Elizabeth Edmondson. The most amazing and beautiful gift that God could bestow upon any man. He loved her from her first breath and cherished her in every way he could. He loved all the times he had with her. Especially the times they spent in his beloved Montana. I can’t think of a single thing he ever loved more than Miss Molly. Eric had so many great memories. He loved to fly fish and watching him cast a fly rod was like watching an artist. A tall, peaceful, serene, artist. It was such a beautiful thing. Like God had his hand on the end of that line. Eric is survived by his loving family, daughter, Molly; father, Ron Edmondson; mother, Clara Edmondson; grandmother, Charlotte Gilley; sister and brother-in-law. Steve and Wendy Tittsworth; and a wonderful bunch of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of knowing Eric will be held at Oakland United Methodist Church located at 234 Trigonia Road, Greenback, Tenn., Sunday, January 20, 2013. Receiving of friends will begin at 2 p.m. with service beginning at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers we ask that you do something kind for someone else. And send a smile up to Eric. He gave us so many. Rest in peacefulness, Eric. You were truly loved. And we will see you soon.
