She was preceded in death by her parents, Arvel and Lena Hearon; brothers, Earl, Billy Wayne, and Junior Hearon; and sister, Darlene Whitehead. She is survived by her son, Jerry Stott of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Mark Finger of Oak Lawn, Ill.; grandchildren, Chase and Madison Stott and Brian and Aubrey Finger; great-granddaughter, Genesis Nevaeh Stott; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marcus and Curtis Hearon of Maryville, Alvin and Liz, Woodrow, Marvin, and Norman Hearon of Ooltewah; and Clifford and Peggy Hearon of Dayton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene Rauhuff, Shirley and Gene Willburn and Charlene and Bill Evans of Maryville, and Joyce and Brickey Tipton of Walland; special caregiver, Janie Morgan; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel with the interment icon to follow at Grandview Cemetery, Rev. Clifton Hearon officiating. Gene Paul Herron

Gene Paul Herron, age 71, of Maryville, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nelda Herron; sisters, Bobbie McGinley and Margaret McCall; brothers, John Herron and James David Herron. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Cannon Herron; sons, Gene Paul Herron, II and Daniel E. Herron; daughters, Joy Mary Herron and Valerie Lynn Moon; grandchildren, Cody Joe Herron, Brickey Lee Dixon, Daniel Ryley Herron, Shelby Laine Herron and Star A. Moon; brothers, Michael Herron and wife Janice, Kenneth Herron and wife Ella; sisters-in-law, Lynn Herron and Carolyn Herron; brother-in-law, Jack McCall; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home and then proceed to Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a 5 p.m. graveside service with Casey King officiating. Ida Louise Fain

Ida Louise Fain, age 89, of Maryville, formerly of Madisonville, passed away Monday evening July 9, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab Center. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Preceded in death by husbands, Adam U. Grindstaff and Herbert Fain; parents, W.B. and Geneva Crye Henry; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bertha and Jason Lemons, Irene and Lloyd Lunsford, Edward Dunn; niece, Bettye Scruggs; nephews, Lynn Lemons and Tommy Lemons; special nephew, Randall Dunn. Survivors: sister, Willie Ruth Dunn, Maryville; stepson, Jerry Fain and wife Inez; stepgrandchildren, Kathy Fain, Cristie Baker, all of Athens; several nieces and nephews. Funeral 8 p.m. Thursday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. John Butler, Rev. Tommy Self officiating. Interment icon 11 a.m. Friday, Oakland Methodist Cemetery. Family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.

William ‘Bud’ Graves

William “Bud” Graves, 75, of Maryville, passed away July 10, 2012, at home. He was born icon in Louisville, Tenn., and graduated from Alcoa High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was retired from Sawing Systems in Knoxville, and was recently employed at Alcoa Auto Auction. Bud enjoyed spending time with his family, friends at the Sundown Resort, and his dog Pookie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah (Liza) Hatcher and Nile Graves. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Phyllis D. Anderson Graves; daughters and sons-in-law, Missie and Al Rhea, and Becca (Buffy) and Jon Moore; sons, Tony Graves, and David Michael and Jill Graves; stepchildren, Michael and Angie Loveday, and Penny and Frank Carroll; 10 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Burial will be at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery icon with a private memorial service. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ted Campbell

Ted Campbell, 79, Maryville, died July 7, 2012 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by father, Russell Campbell; mother, Birdie Maranville; brother, Ronald Campbell; sister, Jenny Shaner. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Burns Campbell; son, Kenny Campbell; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Jimmy Thomas; daughter, Denise Fagg; grandsons, Jesse Campbell, Brad Thomas, Michael Thomas and Daniel Fagg; sisters, Bobbie Payne, Wanda Harshman. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Alcoa.

Stuart P. McNiell, Jr.

McNiell, Stuart P., Jr., 86, Maryville, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Sterling House. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.

Shirley Walker Edwards

Shirley Walker Edwards, age 70, of Maryville, passed away Monday, July 9, 2012, at her home. Family and friends will meet at 9:15 a.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home to proceed to Forest Hill Cemetery icon for a 10 a.m. graveside service with Rev. Charles Murrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. 982-6812

Sarah Lucille Williams

Sarah Lucille Williams, 88, of Farragut, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, with her beloved Al Booth and her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Herman E. Williams; son, Jon Williams; and granddaughter, Rhea Akers. She is survived by her children, Steve Williams (wife Becky); Sherry Garnett (husband Jay); Trudy Akers (husband Mike); grandchildren, Heather, Christopher, Rebecca, Jeff, and Jo; and great-grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, and Hope. She is also survived by her Canadian family, the children and grandchildren of Al Booth. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Maryville for 50 years. She was born icon in Gip, W.Va., and worked in the aircraft factories during WWII. Lucille was a gifted artist, quilter, seamstress and handyman. She could truly do anything with her hands. She was also accomplished at making friends, leaving a plethora of people who love her. She will be greatly missed, particularly by her Mountain Family, her Florida Family, neighbors and longtime friends. The family wishes to specifically thank Mitchell Martin MD (oncologist) and Nurses Katie and Christie, also Covenant Hospice and Nurses Janie and Pat for wonderful care. Rev. Luther E. Rowland, age 90, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. He was a WWII veteran and was retired from ALCOA. He was a member and the former pastor of Pleasant View Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.F. (Charlie) and Ethel Rowland; wives, Flora Brown Rowland and Mary Catern Russell Rowland; son, Tommy Lee Rowland, Sr.; sisters, Euella Hitson, Vernice Warlick, Isabelle (Mary) Booth; brothers, Charles, Phillip, Eli, Earl and Calvin Rowland. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, E. Ricky and Mary Rowland of Athens, Cliff and Emma Rowland of Knoxville; daughter, Joyce Ann Rowland of Maryville; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Phillips of Kansas, Irene Williams of Madisonville; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Smith West Chapel. Funeral service at 7 p.m. with Rev. David Bayless and Rev. Matthew Caldwell officiating. Norma J. Linginfelter, age 74, of Maryville, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, at Asbury Place. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Linginfelter; parents, Roy and Frankie Hill; brothers, Max Lynn Hill, Dr. John “Johnny Wayne” Hill. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jack Stephens of Maryville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles D. and Mary Hill and Robert E. “Bob” and Jane Hill, all of Indiana; sisters and brothers-in-law, S. Joyce “Jo” and Jerry Erwin of South Carolina, M. Katherine “Katie” Turner of Maryville, Wilma S. and David Blanton of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews. Mamie Ethel Whaley Smelcer, age 92, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Smelcer; parents, Andy and Mary Ownby Whaley; brother, Hansel Whaley; sister, Elizabeth Burge. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Annette Smelcer, and Larry and Ronna Smelcer; daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Roy Latham; grandchildren and spouses, Kent and Jamie Latham, Kim and John Kidd, Brian and Robin Smelcer, Donna and Logan Wilburn, Lisa Harrell; great-grandchildren, David and Norma Latham, Gavin Smelcer, Brandi and Jerry Cook, Kara Latham, Ajay Kidd, Ashley and Hunter Harrell, Jared Tipton, Alana and Kylie Wilburn; great-great-grandchildren, Blade and Reece Canada; sister, Christine Thomas; brother, Jack D. Joyce Alene (Edwards) Halley

Joyce Alene (Edwards) Halley, age 86, of Maryville, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012, at Wellington Place Assisted Living. Joyce was born icon November 27, 1925, in Moberly, Missouri and worked for the Belton Missouri School District for many years before retiring to Arizona. She moved to Maryville in 2000 to live with her daughter Ronda. She enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles, bird watching and playing with her great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold and grandson, David. Survivors include her four daughters, Linda Bane, Sandra (Riley) Brown, Debra (Ron) White, Ronda Winn; son, Michael (Vicki) Halley; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tyler) Flood, Brandon Brown, Jon (Anna) Bane, Melissa (Matt) Webb, Amanda (Kevin) Painter, Lauren (Josh) Crandall and Phil White; great-grandchildren, Ella, Ava, Olivia, Lila and Houston as well as many nieces and nephews. A private family viewing will be held at Smith East Chapel from 3-4 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, followed by cremation. A celebration of life will be held at Wellington Place of Maryville Assisted Living 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2330 Chesterfield Drive, c/o Jill Rollins Memorial Chair, Maryville, TN 37803. James Jay Johnston

James Jay Johnston, age 85, of Friendsville, went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ Monday, July 9, 2012. He was born icon in Johnson City, Tenn., May 14, 1927, to Andrew and Mary Cook Johnston. He was a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church. He worked for Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company in Maryland before transferring to South Central Bell in Tennessee. He worked for the telephone company as a repair technician for 30 years before retiring. He was also a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy. He is survived by wife, Ruby Louise Cox Johnston; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Bobby Farrington of Friendsville; granddaughter, Miranda Presley of Vonore; great grandchildren, Madysen and Shady Presley of Vonore. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with Rev.
