Robert Charles Otis ‘Robby’ Sparks
Robert Charles Otis “Robby” Sparks, age 31, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, Maryville, where he enjoyed assisting with Vacation Bible School. He was a 1998 graduate of William Blount High School, where he played football. He served in the U.S. Army for five years and was stationed in Kosovo. He loved his family, had a heart of gold and was a very humorous person. He loved music, especially playing his guitar and he loved children. He will truly be missed. He leaves to mourn a wife, Michele Sparks; parents, Chuck and Phylis Sparks of Knoxville, Barbara Ann Burkhart; sister, Autumn Sparks of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, Nathan and Miranda Sparks of Alcoa; two nieces; one nephew on the way; grandparents, Charles and Joyce Sparks, Greenback, Bob and Barbara Burkhart, Maryville; several aunts, uncles, cousins. Funeral will be noon Tuesday, Hopewell Baptist Church, Rev. Charles Huskey officiating. Interment

Neill Roderick Monaghan
Neill Roderick Monaghan, age 57, of Maryville, formerly of England, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, November 13, 2011, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Neill was a local attorney with Bray and Monaghan. He was a barrister for 15 years in Middle Temple, London, U.K. He was a member of Maryville Rotary Club and his hobbies were fly fishing and model railway. He loved his Labrador Retrievers, Zoe and Lexie, and Miniature Schnauzer, Maggie. Preceded in death by father, Reginald John Monaghan. Survivors include devoted wife and caregiver, Terri Smith Monaghan of Maryville; daughter, Holly Margaret Monaghan; mother, Doreen Monaghan; brother, Graham Monaghan, all of England; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lowell and Debbie Smith; father-in-law, Charles L. Smith and wife Marian; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The University of Texas, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Hubert E. Lichlyter
Hubert E. Lichlyter, age 90, of Dandridge, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 13, 2011, at Turkey Creek Medical Center following a brief illness. He was the son of the late Hal and Florence Strange Lichlyter and was a life-long resident of Jefferson County. He attended the East Ridge Baptist Church, was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and World War II and was a retired supervisor for Tennessee Handbags Co. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Imogene Brimer Lichlyter; sisters, Gladys Fox, Frances Dennis, Bernice Shropshire, Margaret Dennis and infant Pearl Hazel Lichlyter. Survived by son, Ron Lichlyter; grandson, John Lichlyter; sisters, Helen Bradley and Vivian Grice; brothers, Paul “Brownie” Lichlyter and Ralph Lichlyter; several nieces and nephews. Jason Andrew Irwin, born
July 23, 1978 in Hammond, Indiana, passed away November 5, 2011, in Maryville, Tenn. He was known as “Big Red” by many of his friends. He was of the Baptist faith. Jason’s passion in life was painting and restoring old cars. He had just recently opened his own shop. Some of the places he worked and learned so much were Jerry’s Paint and Body, Hot Rod Harrys, Terry Cummings, and Mizerville Kustoms. Preceded in death by: father, Dexter Irwin; grandparents, Oscar and Rena Irwin, Clarence and Ruth Hatcher. Survivors include: mother, Irma Irwin; brother, Dale Potter; sister, Debbie (Simpson) Jenkins; nieces, Kelsey Jenkins and Amanda Potter; nephew, Jesse Irwin; aunts and uncles, Robin and Jerry Moore, Kathy Holloway, Lois O’Dell, Carol Ellis, Gary Hatcher, Joyce and Ralph Lee, Bill and Jody Irwin, Dean and Pat Reed; many cousins and so many special friends. Keith Anthony Blair
Keith Anthony Blair, age 49, of Maryville passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents Roosevelt and Clara Blair. Survivors include brothers Perry and Rodney Blair and a niece and nephew. He leaves his longtime girlfriend Joany Burger, special friends Tenna Hunt, Terry ”Lucky” Mullens and Sandy Hawk. Keith had worked as a painter in the Maryville, Knoxville and Texas area. Keith loved hiking and fishing. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at his home on Chota Rd. The service is at 5 p.m. til 8 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served. Please feel free to bring a covered dish. There will be a book for signatures for his family.

Jamie Russell Pendleton, age 82, of Maryville passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a graduate of Knoxville High School, Class of 1946, attended the University of Tennessee and a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Jamie was a volunteer with Blount Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a retired floral designer. Preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert L. Oglesby and Gladys Burkhart Oglesby. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Marilyn Pendleton of Suwanne, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Dr. Stephen Zabawa of Palm Harbor, FL; grandchildren, Christopher and Jennifer Pendleton; brother-in-law, Bill Pendleton. Tom Carpenter
Tom Carpenter, 67, 312 Flourville Rd., Johnson City, died Friday, November 11, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center, following a brief illness. Tom was a native of Maryville and had been a resident of Johnson City since 2008. He was a son of the late Edward and Julia Morton Carpenter. Tom was a grocery buyer and supervisor and had worked with Giant Wholesale and Flemming Foods before retiring from Whites Fresh Foods. He was a former member of Southwestern Baptist Church. Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son. Tom is survived by his wife, Dora Greene Clendenon Carpenter; two daughters, Maria Wright and husband James, Sevierville, and Linda Clark and husband Coy, Bristol, VA; three stepchildren, Deborah Joann Clendenon, Kenneth Lynn Clendenon and Cathy Lynne Clendenon, all of Johnson City; one brother, Donald Carpenter and wife Laverne, Maryville; one sister, Edwina Anderson, Maryville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. The graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, November 13, 2011, at 1 p.m. in Monte Vista Memorial Park, with Rev. Richard Bawgus officiating. Robert "Bob" Donnelly
Robert “Bob” W. Donnelly, age 72, of Chattanooga, TN, son of the late Ivan and Maxie Hawkins Donnelly and grandson of the late W.W. and Cora Hawkins of Mountain City, TN, passed away suddenly at his home, Wednesday, November 9, 2011. He is survived by his loving family and friends: Margaret and Floyd Hampton, Della Donnelly Larson and Wilma Donnelly Evey, all of Maryville, TN; Charles Douglas, Becky Smith and Jo Ann Cothran of Chattanooga, TN; loving nieces and nephews, H.E. Guigou, Jr., Vickie Hampton Pillow, Micol Guigou, Sherri Evey Kenny, Kristi Evey Satterfield and Christina Larson of Maryville/Knoxville, TN. Bob was a graduate of the University of Tennessee and worked with Combustion Engineering of Chattanooga in Specialized Nuclear Research. He was also a longtime Real Estate developer in the Chattanooga area. His love and his life was spent with his family and friends, work, and extensive traveling abroad. Our beloved brother and friend will be sadly missed. Services will a private family gathering in Mountain City, TN. Jim (JL) Allen, age 79, of Alcoa, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011, at home surrounded by family. He was a member of Maryville Church of Christ. He retired from Equifax with 40 years of service and retired from the United States Army and Air National Guard. Jim was an avid golfer and loved to garden. He delivered Meals on Wheels for 10 years. Preceded in death by: Parents, Virgil & Pauline (Toomey) Allen.
