Kathleen “Kitty” Breeden, age 53, of Maryville, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011, at her home. She moved to Maryville after living in Arizona for over 20 years. She was a loving mother and friend to all (aka, her “chickens”). She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewayne Leroy and Marguerite Kohnen Eckert; and brother, Butch Hughes. She is survived by her daughters, Jessica Rae Breeden and Christine Noel Bryant; sisters, Sherri Lundborg and Joni Shook; brothers, Kirby and Joseph Eckert; ex-husband and friend, Bill Breeden and his family; granddaughters, Coral Garcia and Kylie Wade; close friends, Lucy and Joel Creel, Tina and Dan Messner and children Jacqui and Nicole Anderson, Rock, Patty, and Olivia Mishoe, and Kelly Hunt and family; and many other “chickens” and friends. James Lee Huskey
James Lee Huskey, age 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Jim was retired from the Blount County Highway Department. He is preceded in death by parents, Lee and Nora Huskey; brother, Robert “Pink” Huskey; sisters, Sara Hembree and Janie Brown; and granddaughter, Shannon Kilby. Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Fay C. Huskey; daughter, Linda Kilby; son, Ricky Huskey; grandchildren, April Kilby; and great-grandchildren, Macensy and Bradley Marlow. Robert Donald (Don) Everett, age 73, of Maryville, passed away at home on Monday, February 7, 2011. He retired from ALCOA Aluminum Company and was a member of Six Mile Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Rockford Masonic Lodge F.&A.M. Preceded in death by parents, Ellis and Mamie Everett; brother, Ronald Horace Everett; brother-in-law, James Cope. John Nathan Sides
John Nathan Sides, age 63, passed away September 24, 2011, at 8:26 p.m., following a battle with cancer. He was predeceased by parents, Carl Ray Sides Sr. and Evelyn Sides of Morristown, Tenn. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Carl Ray Sides Jr. and Earleen Sides, of Cropwell, Ala.; nephew, Geoffrey Sides and wife Kat of Birmingham, Ala., niece, Jennifer Sides; and great-nephew, Colton Sharit; and great-niece, Ella Lee, all of Buford, Ga. He also leaves behind his longtime friend and companion, Lucinda Young of Maryville. Mr. Sides was a military veteran, having served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a life-long martial arts enthusiast and an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was also a thespian, fossil and rock collector and was skilled in multiple handicrafts. As a gardener, he enjoyed growing heirloom vegetables for several years at his home in Maryville. Emma Price, age 84, of Louisville, Tenn., passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2011, at Colonial Heights Nursing Center of Maryville surrounded by family. She was born
on August 7, 1927 in Rogersville, Tenn. She was a member of Madison Avenue Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Price; parents, Arthur and Virginia Miner; and sister, Ruth Trent. Survivors include her son and his wife, Don and Pon Price of Louisville; daughter and her husband, Cathy and Al Karst of Prattville, Ala.; grandchildren, Glen (Amy) Price, Matthew (Jennifer) Price, Camille Karst, Angela Price; great-grandchildren, Emma Price, William Price, Yvonne Price; brother, Reed (Agnes) Miner; sisters, Shirley (John) Warner, Louise Davis; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 28, at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home. Rev. George “Fuzz” Bradley will officiate. Doctor Peggy (Giffin) Savage McWilliams
Doctor Peggy (Giffin) Savage McWilliams, age 74, born
November 5, 1936, went to be with her Lord on September 17, 2011, at 2:16 a.m. at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of Doctor Ronald O. McWilliams and the only child born
to Bill and Juanita Giffin who preceded her in death when she was in her teen years. Peggy grew up in South Knox County where she attended Galbreath grammar school and was graduated from Young High School in 1954. She also graduated from the University of Tennessee with her Baccalaureate in Nursing in 1957, and continued on to obtain her Master’s degree with highest honors. In 1980, Peggy earned doctoral degrees in Nursing and Health Care Administration from Columbia Pacific University. Peggy spent 40 years in long-term care administration, teaching others to care for the frail and elderly with loving dignity and respect, especially those with Alzheimer’s disease. During her entire career, she was active in the Tennessee Health Care Association and the America Heath Care Association and held many offices in both associations through her home base facilities of Baptist Heath Care Center of Lenoir City, Colonial Hills of Maryville, and Williamsburg Villas of Knoxville. She traveled the world taking the message of her profession to those who were seeking knowledge to render appropriate care to the demented elderly. She retired in 1997 and returned to live out her life in Loudon County. Peggy will be lovingly missed by her husband Ron, and by her daughter Anita Lucinda (Cindy) Wilmoth and husband Ken; her son Patrick Wilson and wife Jeanne. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Christina Wilmoth Myers and husband Jason; Amanda Wilmoth Gerhardt and husband Bo; Erica Wilmoth Lombardo and husband Kyle; Connor Wilson and Grant Wilson. By great-grandchildren, Kenslie Myers, Jaycie Myers, Baylie Myers, Hunter Gerhardt, LeeAnn Gerhardt and Keira Allen. Peggy is also survived by Ron’s children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Peggy was a member of the Christian Church of Loudon County, 12210 Martel Road, Lenoir City. There will be a memorial service for friends and family on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at 7 in the evening at the Christian Church. Lester O. Allmon
Lester O. Allmon, age 80, of Maryville, went home to be with his Lord Monday, September 19, 2011, at his home. He attended Twin Oaks Baptist Church, and had done evangelistic ministry for the past 50 years. He pastured Alleghany Baptist Church, Birchfield Baptist Church, and filled in at Four Mile Baptist Church, while they were seeking a new pastor. He loved to travel with his family to preach, play his guitar and sing. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korea Conflict, and a member of Mt. View Masonic Lodge # 519. He worked at several car dealerships as a mechanic and retired from Blount Farmers Co-Op. Preceded in death by his mother, Gussie Lee Chastain Allmon; father, Roy Allmon; brother, R.J. Allmon; sister, Louise Daugherty; brother-in-law, James Daughtery; granddaughter, April Nicole Allmon; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mandy and Anderson Tilley. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mable Jean Tilley Allmon; children, Mike and wife, Beverly Anderson Allmon, Debra and husband, Doyle Gray; grandchildren, Brian and Keri Brewer Gray, Brandon Gray, Kasey and Grant Bland; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arnold and Eva Tilley; sister-in-law, Lena Allmon and several nieces and nephews. William Rhea (Bill) Crowder
William Rhea (Bill) Crowder, 62, of Maryville, died Tuesday, September 13, 2011. He graduated from Alcoa High School and attended Hiwassee College. He served 10 years in the Navy aboard the USS Lexington. He was employed at the Knox County Health Department in the dental clinic. His last employment was as a CNA at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lucile Crowder. He is survived by two sons, Joe Don and David Michael Crowder; grandchildren, Ty, Joshua, and Josie Marie; aunts, Ruth Richards and Rachael Walker; several cousins. Bill was blessed with many friends who have been very supportive of him including Gail and Mike Burris, Debbie and Dennis Casey, Kathy Hillard, Barbrey Parker, Sharon Wiley.
