DIANE STEWART, 82, of Memphis, retired from First Tennessee Bank, died of heart failure Thursday at Methodist Hospital South. Private graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Memory Hill Gardens. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. She was a member of the American Contract Bridge League. Mrs. Stewart, the widow of Paul Stewart, leaves three daughters, Joyce Stewart-Halford of Orange, Calif., Kathy T. Chappell of Atlanta and Vicki Terry of Collierville, five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Contract Bridge League Charity Foundation in Memphis.

LESLIE BOLTON STEWART, 84, of 874 Barbara, retired employee of Memphis Housing Authority, died of congestive heart failure Wednesday at Methodist Hospital. N. J. Ford & Sons Funeral Home has charge. She was a member of the choir at Bethel Presbyterian Church. She leaves a son, Hosea Stewart Jr.; a sister, Vernetta Brooks, and a daughter-in-law who cared for her, Beverly Coleman Stewart, all of Memphis, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

BESSIE M. TACKITT, 89, of Memphis, retired from McElroy Insurance Agency and former employee of Mathis Brothers Insurance Co., died of pneumonia Wednesday at Methodist Hospital Germantown. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Funeral Home Midtown with burial in Forest Hill cemetery Midtown. She was a Baptist. She leaves a daughter, Deolia T. Bell, and a sister, Lela M. Myers, both of Memphis, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.

WOOFIN H. THOMAS, 81, of Horn Lake, Miss., service mechanic for Dobbs Brothers, died of heart failure Wednesday at Briarcrest Extended Care. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Valley Grove cemetery in Michigan City, Miss. He was a Navy veteran. Mr. Thomas, the husband of Lula Mae Thomas, also leaves two sons, W. H. Thomas Jr. of Savannah, Tenn., and Phillip A. Thomas of Southaven; a sister, Ruby Haynes of Sardis, Miss., and three grandchildren.

DOYLE McWHORTER THOMPSON, 51, of Cordova, general manager for Barzi Food, died of liver disease Thursday at UT Bowld Hospital. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Memphis Funeral Home Germantown Parkway Chapel with entombment in Memory Hill Mausoleum. He was a member of Capleville United Methodist Church. Mr. Thompson, the husband of Kathy England Thompson, also leaves a daughter, Kristy McCormic Reeser of Memphis; a sister, Ellen Kelly of Knoxville; a brother, Earl F. EMERY E. BRYANT, 67, of Bolivar, Tenn., minister of Bolivar United Pentecostal Church for 22 years, died Wednesday at Bolivar General Hospital of injuries received in an auto accident. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bolivar United Pentecostal Church with burial in Bolivar Memorial cemetery. Shackelford Funeral Home of Bolivar has charge. He was a member of the Chaplains Association of Hardeman County, Tenn. He also was the home mission director of Tennessee District Section 7 of the United Pentecostal Church International. Mr. Bryant, the husband of Helen D. Bryant, also leaves local survivors including a son, James Emery Bryant of Bartlett. He was a World War II Army air forces veteran and a Boy Scouts scoutmaster for 30 years. Mr. Allen, the husband of Mamie McCrary Allen, also leaves a daughter, Shirley Stanford of Townsend, Mass.; a son, Wayne Allen of New Port Richey, Fla., and four grandchildren.
