Jackie Massey
Jackie B. Massey, 67, of Chattanooga passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, in a local health care facility.
She was a retired secretary from DuPont, a member of Tyner United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Massey was preceded in death by her husband, H.D. "Bill" Massey.
Survivors are two daughters, Julia Higgins of Soddy-Daisy and Susan Kennedy of Chattanooga; a son, Dennis Massey of Chattanooga; a sister, Peggy Johnson of Crystal River, Fla.; a brother, Jim Boyd of Atlanta; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held 11:30 a.m. today at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy Ramsey
Dorothy J. "Bumpy" Hicks Ramsey, 67, of Chattanooga died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, in a local hospital.
She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Avondale, and was retired from Chattanooga Public Schools.
Survivors: husband, Napoleon Ramsey; son, Timothy Ramsey; daughters, Pamela Ramsey and Gloria Ramsey, all of Chattanooga; five grandchildren; brothers, Michael Hicks of St. Paul, Minn., and Wendell Hicks of Chattanooga; sisters, Beverly Moon and Sharon Moore, both of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Funeral: Sunday at 1 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, Avondale, with pastor J.W. Williams officiating.
Burial: Highland Memorial Gardens.
Visitation: today from 7-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Edward Street
Edward Street of Chattanooga died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001.
He served in the U.S. Army in Korea, and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 4 Bronze Camp Stars and the United Nations Service Medal.
He was a member of Pierce Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Huggins; brother, Ralph Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Alfreda Baker Street; nephew, Ralph Church Jr.; great-aunt, Loice Butler; nephews, Curtis Baker Jr., Anthony, Frederick Jr. and Larry Greer; nieces, Pamela Sales, Alesia Sanders, Angela and Crystal Greer; cousins; great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Services: 2 p.m. Sunday in the Pierce Avenue Baptist Church, pastor William Clark officiating.
Interment 2 p.m. Monday in the National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in Avondale Chapel of Franklin-Strickland Funeral Home.

Frank E. Thompson Sr., 80, of Chattanooga died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, in a local hospital.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Bayside Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Stitts officiating.
Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

DECATUR -- Joann Denham, 65, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, in a local hospital.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd H. Denham; parents, Floyd T. and Sallie Stokes; sister, Emma Elizabeth Minton; and brother, Douglas Stokes.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Rogers of Decatur; sons, Jimmy C. Denham of Hixson, Ronnie Denham of Chattanooga and Richard C. Denham; eight grandchildren; sisters, Velma Marr of Akron, Ohio, Dale Ray of Ooltewah, Tina Ellis and Nancy Malone; brothers, Herbert Stokes and Lawrence Stokes, all of Harrison, and Floyd Stokes of Georgetown.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Wright officiating.
Interment will be in Bartlebaugh Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today, Oct. 13, from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 14, from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

CLEVELAND -- Roy Gene McDowell, 52, formerly of Muskogee, Okla., died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, in a Cleveland hospital.
He was formerly employed by Bradley Warehouse and Wal-Mart.

PIKEVILLE -- Sara Lou Rogers, 62, of Route 5, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001.
She was preceded in death by husband, R.A. Rogers; daughter, Gwendolyn Rogers; parents, Bert and Elsie Swafford; and brother, Burton Swafford.
Survivors: sons, Jeff Rogers, Pikeville, Robert Rogers, Grandview; daughter, Daphne Milliron, Pikeville; sisters, Jane Beasley, Flint, Mich., Elsie Leffew, Dayton; grandchildren, Allen and Katie Maynard, Robert Daniel Rogers; and step-granddaughter, Amanda Gilbert.
