MARGUERITE L. RULEMAN, 86, of Memphis, homemaker, died of a blood clot Monday at Saint Francis Hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park. She was a member of United Methodist Women and was a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Ruleman, the widow of Raymond L. Ruleman, leaves two sisters, Neumon T. McLeroy of West Memphis and Louise L. Jordan of Memphis, and a brother, Richard L. Lamb of Memphis. The family requests that any memorials be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.

LIZZIE SEARCY, 94, of Memphis, homemaker, died of heart failure Friday at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Services will be at noon Friday at Snow Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Carmel-Hollywood cemetery. She was a member of Pentecostal Church of God in Christ where she was a member of the Israelite Society. Mrs. Searcy, the widower of Edward Searcy, leaves four daughters, Elizabeth A. Henderson and Mary Visor, both of Memphis, and Maggie Gaines and Ruth Pickens, both of Detroit; and three nephews whom she raised, Edward Wright, Aaron Visor and Demetrius Visor, all of Memphis.

ESTELLAR ELNORA SHIPP, 88, of 489 E. Dison, homemaker, died of heart disease Sunday at Methodist Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Abyssinia Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in New Park cemetery. J. O. Patterson Mortuary has charge. She was a Sunday School teacher, a devotional leader and a member of the missionary society, James E. Shipp Senior Citizens and the mother board at Greater Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Shipp, the widow of James E. Shipp, leaves a daughter, Zola E. Hayes of Memphis; six sons, Charles W. Shipp, Rev. James Shipp Jr., William C. Shipp, Rev. George W. Shipp, Rev. Juan D. Shipp and Bobrie Shipp, all of Memphis; a sister, Sallie B. Walton of Detroit; two brothers, Willie Howell of West Memphis and Sylvester Howell of Youngstown, Ohio; 45 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

MARY TUCKER, 85, of 439 Beale, retired elevator operator for the former Allen Hotel, died of cardiac arrest Sunday at Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis. Services will be at noon Wednesday at Anthony Funeral Home in West Memphis with burial in Marion (Ark.) Memorial Park. She leaves two sisters, Creaner Horn of Chicago and Dronella Ferguson of Memphis.

ANTHONY JOSEPH `TINY' VOLMER, 75, of Southaven, retired from Memphis Light, Gas & Water Division, died of heart failure Friday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Mass was said at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church, where he was a communicant, with burial in Calvary. Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel has charge. He was an originator of the Fort Pickering Reunion and was a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Volmer, the husband of Shirley Volmer, also leaves a daughter, Eleanor Volmer-Patterson of Memphis; three sons, Joseph `Duke' Volmer of Hernando, Miss., William `Bubba' Volmer of Southaven and John Anthony Volmer of Memphis, and three grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to St. Jude Catholic Church Building Fund at P.O. Box 342, in Selmer, Tenn., 38375.

JAMES W. WALZ, 69, of Wauwatosa, Wis., formerly of Cordova, salesman, died of cancer Sunday in Wauwatosa. Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wauwatosa with burial in Holy Church Cross cemetery there. Heritage Funeral Home in Milwaukee has charge. He was a past communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Mr. Walz, the husband of Lois Walz, also leaves five daughters, Mary Walz-Chojnacki, Catherine Mullen, Anne Walz, Margaret Koop and Susan Kroeger; three sons, James Walz, Thomas Walz and Daniel Walz, and 18 grandchildren.

CHERIE LaFOREST WARD, 68, of Miami, formerly of Memphis, homemaker, died after a massive heart attack Sept. 28, 1996, in Miami. DR. H. STRATTON JONES, 76, of Harriman, Tenn., doctor, died of cancer Sunday at Roane Medical Center. Services will be at 7:30 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church with burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Roane Memorial Gardens. Kyker Funeral Home in Harriman has charge. He was a World War II veteran and graduated from the University of Tennessee Medical School in 1943 and was a member of Medical Staff Union Carbide Plant - Y-12 and was an elder at First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Jones, the husband of Naoma Jones-Harriman, leaves local survivors including Nanette Schneider of Memphis.
