Linda C. Trask, age 57, of Talbott, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2002, at her home. She was the owner of Volunteer Cartoon Map Company, Inc., and a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Helen Caraglio. She is survived by her husband, Carl F. Trask, Sr., daughters and son-in-law, Kimberlee Ann Trask of New Hampshire, Brenda Lee and David Gosnell, Jr. of New Hampshire; son and daughter-in-law, Carl Trask, Jr. and Chastity of Talbott; grandchildren, Christian Trask, Raina Trask, Genesis Trask and Curtis Gosnell; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and John Habenschuss of Connecticut; Funeral Mass was held Saturday, January 19, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Hammond conducting the service. Interment icon was held in King’s Highway cemetery in Connecticut. Westside Funeral Home, Morristown, was in charge of arrangements.

Stella Marie Doyle
Stella Marie Doyle. age 92 of Karns, passed away Monday morning, January 21, 2002, at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice. She was a member of the Eastern Star, several teachers associations, former dispatcher for the Karns Volunteer Fire Department, and retired teacher of Willowbrook School in Oak Ridge. She was a graduate of the University of Tennessee. Preceded in death by mother and father, Martha Elizabeth and Absolum N. Marshall; husband, Leonard K. Doyle; sisters, Lucille Marshall and Elsie Duncan; brother, Thomas D. Marshall; niece, Eileen Phillips; and great-niece, Barbara Jean Pruitt. Survivors include: sons, Steve K. Doyle of Karns, and Larry M. Doyle and wife, Susanne, of Murray, Kentucky; grandchildren, Brian T. Doyle of Fairfield Glade, and Heather Ledford and husband, Hugh, of Covington, Kentucky; sisters and brothers-in-law, Coteena Doyle, Lillie and Milton Hatfield of Knoxville, and Mary and Carl Doyle of Fairfield Glade; nieces and nephews, Becky Stout and husband, Albert; Gary Doyle and wife, Sharon; David Doyle and wife, Marcia, of Knoxville; Carl Doyle and wife, Renee, of Dandridge, and Peggy Williams and husband, Tommy of Louisville, Tennessee; great-niece, Hazel Ann Profitt and husband, Ray, of Ringgold, Georgia. Services were held on Wednesday, January 23, 2002, with interment icon following in Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. Rev. Gary Hatfield officiated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association. Weaver Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ernest Lester Jones
Ernest Lester Jones, age 87, of Knoxville, passed away at the University of Tennessee Hospital at 11:15 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2002. He was a member of Central Point Baptist Church in Rutledge, and was retired from C&S Laundry and Dry Cleaning, in Knoxville. Preceded in death by wife of sixty-three years, Lena Mae Clark Jones; two daughters, Faye Aileen Goddard and Rhonda Jean Foster; granddaughter, Dawn Elizabeth Jones; parents, Elmer Lofton and Elizabeth Myrtle Morgan Jones; two brothers, John Thomas Jones, and James Elmore Jones; sister, Mary Ellen Elizabeth Jones. Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Fred Allen and Delores Jones of Powell; two sons-in-law, Herman Goddard of Knoxville, and Arnold Foster of Seymour; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Theodore “Ted” Jones of Akron, Ohio, and Arnold “Buck” Jones of Knoxville; sister, Louise Bozeman of New Market; sister-in-law, Helen Jones of Jefferson City. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 23, 2002, at the Highland South Chapel with Rev. Jack Anderson and Rev. Mike Jones officiating. Burial will be held Thursday, January 24, 2002, 11 a.m. in the Highland South cemetery. Highland South Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rosella Love
Rosella Love, age 54, of Dandridge, passed away Monday, January 21, 2002, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She received Christ at an early age at Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harding and Hannah Pollard Love and grandparents who raised her, Mort and Nannie Love. She is survived by her uncle and caregiver, Frank “Fuzzy” Love; step-mother, Lucille Love; half-brothers, Walter, Stanley, Mike and Bill Love; half-sister, Bonnie Howell; aunt, Lorene Woods; uncles, Hubert and J.C. Love; several nieces and nephews and cousins; special friends, Buddy and Mary Ellen Lee. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 23, at Farrar Dandridge Chapel with Rev. Willis Miller conducting the service. Interment icon graveside services will be Thursday, January 24, 11 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge cemetery. Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge, was in charge of arrangements.

Henry (Hank) Porter, Jr.
Henry (Hank) Porter, Jr., age 70 of New Market, passed away at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2002, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was one of Jefferson City Congregation of Jehovah Witnesses. Survivors include: wife, R. Evelyn Byrd Porter, of the home; sons, Jimmy Porter of Talbott, Jeffrey Porter of Norfolk, Virginia, and Daniel Porter of New Market; daughter, Barbara Porter Ruth of Jefferson City; grandchildren, Angel Marie Porter, Matthew Porter, Paul Ruth, Magda Porter and Gabrielle Porter. Memorial services were held on Wednesday, January 23, 2002. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to “The World Wide Work of Jehovah Witnesses,” % Jefferson City Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 761 East Dumplin Valley Road, Dandridge, TN 37725. Farrar Funeral Home is Jefferson City was in charge of arrangements.

Florence E. Peck Treece
Florence E. Peck Treece, age 94, of Jefferson City, passed away on January 22, 2002, at Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a devoted member of Boyd Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Treece, and mother, Leola Peck Bassett. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Treece Gulley; son, John R. Treece; brother, Eugene E. Peck; son-in-law, Clinton Gulley; grandchildren, Candice Gulley, Clinton Gulley, II, and Melissa Gulley; great-grandson, Clinton Gulley, III; sister-in-law, Lucille Dyer; brother-in-law, Charles Mack Treece; nieces and nephews, Barbara P. Dean, James E. Dean, Mark E. Dean and Paula J. Bacon, Ophelia P. Dean, Michael Peck, Michella Peck, Stephen C. Peck, and Arlene B. Peck, Carolyn Peck, Stephen C. Peck, II, Michael E. Peck and Rachel Peck, Brenda Woods, Phyllis Mason, John Dyer, Jackie Griffin and Veola Ligon, and a host of other relatives and wonderful friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2002, 1 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. E.O. Cole officiating. Interment icon will immediately follow the funeral service in the Westview cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2002, at the funeral home. Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City is in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Peter H. Cowan, III
Dr. Peter H. Cowan, III, age 71, of White Pine, passed away Monday, May 27, 2002, at his home with his children present after a brief illness. Preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Smith Cowan, and was the son of the late Peter H. and Ruth Allen Cowan, Jr. Also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Steven L. Coffey. He was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church of White Pine, a member and past President of the White Pine Lions Club, and a member of Company “K” 3rd Battalion, 278th Infantry RCT. He was Chairman of the White Pine Planning Commission and was Chairman of the Jefferson County Jury Commission. A 1948 graduate of White Pine High School, Dr. Cowan attended Carson-Newman College and was a graduate of the Southern College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia; survivors include daughter, Laura C. Coffey of Knoxville; son, Lance A. Cowan of White Pine; sons and daughters-in-law, James B. and Dollie Cowan of Carthage; and Wesley T. and Vicki Cowan of White Pine; grandchildren, Melissa Cowan Grisham, Clifton Harrison Coffey, Courtney Elizabeth Coffey, Elizabeth Leigh Cowan, Emily Kauffman Cowan, and Benjamin Ehlers. Several other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2002, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Richey, Rev. David Brannock, and Rev. Ronnie Mutter officiating. Interment icon will follow in the White Pine cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at Farrar Funeral Home in White Pine. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Dr. Peter H. Cowan, III, to the Gates of Hope, Inc. Grief Crisis Organization, P.O. Jean McCown Dannenhold
Jean McCown Dannenhold, age 83, of Jefferson City, passed away on May 18, 2002, at St. Mary's Residential Hospice in Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. R.M. McCown; husband, Cyril Owen Dannenhold; son, Cyril Roger Dannenhold; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Fields. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Dannenhold, of Nashville; grandson, Michael Dannenhold, of Huntington Beach, California; niece/nephew, Elizabeth Ann and William I. Jones; life-long friend, Rebecca C. Swann; great-nieces, Sally Jones Witkamp, of Orlando, Florida; Nelle Jones Keely, of Raleigh, North Carolina; and Martha Jones Larrimore of Richmond, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Doris Downard and Mary Stuart of Louisville, Kentucky; nephew, Page Stuart of Louisville, Kentucky; niece, Dr. Kandy Downard of Maui, Hawaii; nephews, Paul Downard of St. John, Virgin Islands, and John Downard of Maui, Hawaii. The life celebration service will be held today, Tuesday, May 28, 2002, 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Jefferson City, with family visitation to precede the service at noon. Dr. Robert Reno and Dr. William I. Jones will officiate the service. Arrangements by Farrar Funeral Home.

Randall “Keith” Goodman Jr.
Randall “Keith” Goodman Jr., age 29, of White Pine, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2002. He was of the Christian faith. He is preceded in death by his father, Randall Keith Goodman, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Emma Jean Baker; paternal grandfather, Clarence Goodman, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Beverly Goodman; sister, Tessie Jean Crawford; brother, David Adam Goodman; nephew, Isaiah Link Crawford; special friends, Paul Russell and Janet Kimbrough; paternal grandmother, Betty Jo Owens; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a loving community. Funeral services were held Friday, May 24, 2002, at Mayes Mortuary with Rev. Jack Greene conducting the service. Interment icon was held in Pleasant View Church cemetery. Mayes Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Emma Lee Stinnett Harris
Emma Lee “Emily” Stinnett Harris, age 76, of South Knoxville, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 21, 2002. She was preceded in death by husband, Bob Harris; parents, Rufus and Leah Mae Parsons Stinnett; one brother and three sisters. She was retired from the University of Tennessee Hospital Dietary Services as a Supervisor, after 20 years of service. Most recently she worked for her son, David at Machine Fabrication and Repair. She was a member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church. Survivors include her four children, Brenda and James T. Fuller, of Columbia, South Carolina; Carol and John G. McCarter of Karns; Robert E. and Shirley Harris, of South Knoxville; and David R. and Karen Harris, of Paint Rock, Tennessee; grandchildren, Hilary and Joseph A. Timmons, IV, of Columbia, South Carolina; John M. and Sarah E. McCarter, Dudley and Ruth Hurst, of Wartburg; Tina and Johnny Haun, of Dandridge; and Robert E. Harris, III,; great-grandchildren, Joseph Timmons, V; Christine, Elizabeth, and Rebecca Hurst, Kelsey and Katelyn Haun; brother, Marvin Stinnett, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 23, 2002, at Hillcrest United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dennis Ford officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest United Methodist Church Dogwood Elementary School Project. Berry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Harry M. McWilliams, Sr.
Harry M. McWilliams, Sr., age 76, of Harrogate, Tennessee, was born July 20, 1925, passed away on May 24, 2002, at the University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville. He was a World War II combat wounded veteran of Omaha Beach, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrogate. Preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bertha Hawn McWilliams; brothers, Vincent and Merle McWilliams, and sister, Betty McWilliams. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Jo Owenby McWilliams, of Harrogate; sons and daughters-in-law, Harry M., Jr. and Cathy McWilliams, of Nashville; Michael L. and Kristy McWilliams of Dandridge; grandchildren, Matthew McWilliams of Greenville, South Carolina; Michael L. McWilliams, Jr., of Harrogate; Christina McWilliams of Nashville; Madison and Morgan McWilliams of Dandridge; sisters, Marie Andrews of Cleveland, Ohio; Mildred Cornett of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; Margaret Corella of Detriot, Michigan; brothers, Fred McWilliams, Jr., of Detroit, Michigan; Gerald McWilliams, of Detroit Michigan; Wetzel McWilliams, of Knoxville; Byon McWilliams, of Barbourville, Kentucky, a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Monday, May 27, 2002 at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Harrogate. Burial was held in the Harrogate cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Clen Daniels and Rev. Arnold King officiated the services. Coffey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
