William T. Pierce, age 79, of Talbott, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2001, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. He was a Veteran of the World War II, having served in the United States Navy. He is survived by his daughters, Jane Baker of Jefferson City and Kate Bishop of Ohio; son, Monty Pierce of Jefferson City; several grandchildren; brother, Dean Pierce of Talbott; sister, June Hickman of Ohio; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 24, at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Jefferson City with Rev. Joe Haase conducting the service. Interment

Marjorie K. Ashton
Marjorie K. Ashton, age 57, of Dandridge, passed away Friday, October 19, 2001, at her home. She was presently serving as the office manager for the Dandridge Water Department. She is survived by her husband, Thom Ashton of Dandridge; mother, Mary Newkirk of Florida; brother, William Peter Kraus of New York. The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials in memory of Marjorie be made to Noah's Ark, P.O. Box 892, Dandridge, TN 37725. The family will celebrate her life by sharing and visiting with friends Tuesday, October 23, from 5-7 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge.
Harvey Blake, Jr.
Harvey Blake, Jr., age 79, of North Carolina, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2001 at his residence. He was a native of Moore County and was a retired house painter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Margaret Patterson Blake; wife, Allie Lassiter Blake and brother, James Blake. He is survived by his daughters, Shirley Ann (Roger) Ballard and Sandra (David) Morgan, all of Pinehurst; sons, William R. (Trudy) Blake of Pinehurst, Harold (Emily) Blake of New Market, Danny Joe (Yvonne) Blake of Carthage; sister, Carrie Patterson Lassiter of Pinehurst; nine grandchildren; and one great grandson. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 21 at Vass United Methodist Church with Rev. James Mentzer conducting the service. Interment
was held in Johnson Grove cemetery.
Turner C. Breeden
Turner C. Breeden, age 84, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2001 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Turner was an active member of the Noe's Chapel United Methodist Church and was a retired farmer and builder. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Mae Brown Breeden. He is survived by wife, Blanche Breeden; sons and daughter-in-law, Larry “Eddie” and wife, Anna Breeden and Gerald Breeden, all of Morristown; grandchildren, Scotty and wife, Angie Breeden, Sharla Breeden, Christy and husband, David Duncan; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Heather; step-children, Kenneth and Vivian Thornhill, Wanda and Ray Pruitt, and Wayne and Paula Thornhill; sisters, Imogene Chambers and Eula Patterson; sister-in-law, Mary Sue Breeden, all of Dandridge; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 23, at 2 p.m. at Noe's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. George Rawn conducting the service. Body moved to the church to lie in state for 1 hour before services. Interment

Maggie Leona Hance Eslinger, age 79, of Dandridge, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2001 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was an active member of the Hills Union United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lum and Ollie French; first husband, Floyd H. Hance; and brothers, Roy Lee and Willie French. She is survived by her husband, Turney Eslinger; daughter, Virginia Hance Racine of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Vonnie and Ginny Lynn Hance of Waynesboro, Georgia; step-children, Mary Sue and husband, Ken Purkey, James Donald and wife, Mary Eslinger; grandchildren, Jim and wife, Temple Hance and Daniel Hance; great-grandchildren, Nathan and Rebecca Hance; step-grandchildren, Tina and Sonny Wilkinson, Monica and Erin Eslinger and Chris. Jeffrey Todd Evans, II, passed away October 20, 2001 at St. Mary's Health System. He is preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Judy K. Schumaker and paternal grandfather, Tommy J. Evans. He is survived by his parents, Jeffrey Todd and Michelle Evans of New Market; sisters, Emily Vest and Jessi Evans; grandparents, James and Eula Watkins of Dandridge; and great-grandparents, W.C. and Mary Ruth Harrison of Talbott. Mary Ann Greenlee, age 85, of Bean Station passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2001 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. She was a member of Blackwell Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Amos Greenlee; sons, Amos and Wesley Greenlee; daughters, Mildred and Elaine Greenlee and Ella Mae Jarnigan; grandsons, David and Ricky Greenlee. She is survived by her son and daughters-in-law, Clarence and Maude Greenlee of Bean Station, Bill and Shirley Greenlee of New Market; six grandchildren she helped raise and several other grandchildren of Rutledge and New Market; several great-grandchildren; special niece, Rose Roach of Rutledge. He is survived by his mother, Margaret Roach of New Market; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Debbie Denton of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Tony and Spring Denton of Belmont, North Carolina; several aunts, uncles, neices, and nephews.
