Danny C. Hensley, age 54, of LaFollette, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2001 at his residence. Mr. Hensley was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a plant manager for American Processing Company of Caryville and a member of Frost Bottom Baptist Church. He is survived by his parents, Claude Cordell Hensley and Florence Imogene Russell Hensley of LaFollette; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Scott Pruitt of Strawberry Plains; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin C. and Melissa Hensley of LaFollette; grandchildren, Jeremiah Pruitt, Heath Pruitt, Sean Hensley and Joey Hensley; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Ann Hensley of LaFollette; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Terry of LaFollette. Funeral services were held Sunday, February 25, 2001 at Sharp Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Hensley conducting the services. Interment
was held Monday in Frost Bottom cemetery.
Alfred B. (A.B.) Houser
Alfred B. (A.B.) Houser, age 79, of Strawberry Plains, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lenora and Berry Houser; sister, Loretta Beal; brothers, Burl and Johnny Houser. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Houser; son, Alfred L. Houser; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Lee Manning, Alene and Haroll Miller; brother and sisters, Reva Walker, Ella Mae Johnson, Irene Lane, Hazel Reagan and Arthur Houser; grandchildren, Alfred L. Houser, Jr., Lance and Kenneth Riley, Angie McMahan, Tami Lee, Kasie Morgan, Wendy Monroe, Brandy Miller and Carlene Pilant; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday at McCarty Evergreen Chapel with Rev. Charlie Lynch and Rev. Jack Arwood conducting the services. Family and friends will meet Tuesday, February 27, in Caledonia cemetery for an 11 a.m. graveside and interment
service.
Betty A. Knight
Betty A. Knight, age 82, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. Mrs. Knight was a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Elmer Knight and Oscar M. Allen; son, Oscar M. Allen, Jr.; brothers, Harley and Stoke France; sisters, Dixie Owenby, Mae Bailey and Daisy Sinard. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Bobby Knight, Ronnie and Pat Knight, all of Newport; grandchildren, Ryan Knight and wife, Jennifer of Dandridge, Kalenda Knight, Eric Knight and wife, Kristie, all of Newport, Kim Brooks and husband, Randall of Parrottsville, Brooke Askew and husband Brian, Clyde Allen and wife, Lisa and Christy Allen, all of Newport; great-grandchildren, Tyler Knight and Hannah Knight, both of Dandridge, Cade Knight, Kelsey Brooks and Kinzey Brooks, all of Newport. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 24, at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle with Rev. Larry Wells and Rev. Manson Lee conducting the services. Interment
followed in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Manes Funeral Home of Newport was in charge of arrangements.
Minnie Drinnon Duck Norris
Minnie Drinnon Duck Norris, of New Market and Grand Court, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2001 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Norris was a native of Hamblen County and owned AirWay Tourist Court and Restaurant in Russellville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Norris; parents, W.K. and Mary Ann Drinnon; brothers and sisters, Tom, Bill, Amos, Jess, Wiley, Jim, Clifford, Nora, Daisy and Sarah. She is survived by her daughter, Jeana; sisters, Ethel Perkey and Ada Burke; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Teresa Murph, Teresa Whittaker, Annie Rines, Sylvia Cox, Lillie Moore and Betty Rippetoe. Funeral services were held Sunday, February 25, at Mayes Mortuary with Rev. Scott Collins and Rev. Clifford Blanken conducting the services. Interment
was held Monday in Bethesda cemetery.

Claude G. Pittman, age 60, of New Market, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Mr. Pittman was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Rutledge and was an employee of Life Care of Jefferson City. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Pittman; son, Jeffery Grant Pittman. He is survived by his son, James R. Pittman of New Market; sister, Effie Clevenger of Greenback, Tennessee; brothers, Joe Pittman of New Market, Clifford Pittman of Fort Myers, Florida and Donnie Pittman of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday at Fielden Funeral Home with Rev. Hollis Dunsmore and Rev. David Marshall conducting the services. Interment
followed in Red House cemetery.

Glynn Edward Pratt, age 68 of Strawberry Plains, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Mr. Pratt was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church and a retired employee of Royal Crown Cola with 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Rosie Pratt; sisters, Naomi Pratt, Velma Burner, Flora Hullet; brother, Carl Pratt. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Pratt; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Claude Keith; grandchildren, Jordan Keith and Cannon Keith; brother-in-law, Marion (Bud) Dockery; sisters, Shirley Reardon, Betty Wolfenbarger, Doris Bruner, Carolyn Akins; brothers, George and Leroy Pratt. Eugenia Rainwater Thornton, age 84, of Dandridge, formerly of Morristown, passed away Friday morning, February 23, 2001 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Knoxville. Mrs. Thornton was a member of Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Thornton; son, Kemp Thornton. She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Thornton of Kingston, Garland Thornton of Knoxville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 24, at Farrar Funeral Home in Dandridge. Interment
services were held Sunday in Chestnut Hill cemetery.

Sandra Lynn Williams, age 55, of Dandridge, formerly of Morristown, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2001 at her residence. Mrs. Williams was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. Louis J. Bishop, age 83, of Jefferson City, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2001 at Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Bishop was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, June Bishop of Jefferson City; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and MiYone Bishop; grandchildren, Joshua, Chris Love Bishop, Lane Bishop and Jessica Bishop, all of Korea. Henry Taylor Cochran, Sr.
Henry Taylor Cochran, Sr., age 76, of Strawberry Plains, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Mr. Cochran was a member of Holston Memorial Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Standard Knitting Mills with over 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wives, Elnora Cochran and Virginia Cochran; son, Jerry Lee Cochran; sisters, Beulah Thress, Dossie Lawson and Leona Daniels; brothers, J.B. Cochran, R.L. Cochran, Arrant Cochran and Conway Cochran. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Henry and Cindy Cochran, Jr.; sons, Greg Smith, Ricky Cochran and Rick Perry; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and J.P. Collins, Martha and Frank Hauger, Jenny and Billy Reed, Mary and Roy Calvert, Kay and Jimmy Hickman, Shelia and Kenny Smith, Kim and James Taylor; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Bill Rouse, Cecil and George Simpson. Steve G. Dixon
Steve G. Dixon, age 41, of Dandridge, passed away suddenly Monday, February 26, 2001 at his residence. Mr. Dixon served as a vice-president of the Trust Department for First Tennessee Bank of Knoxville and was an avid golfer and gardener. He is survived by his parents, William Glenn Dixon and Nan Wright Dixon of Turkey, North Carolina; brother, Gregory Bryan Dixon of Raleigh, North Carolina; grandmother, Louise O'Quinn Wright; niece, Jacqueline Riley Dixon; nephew, Gregory Cole Dixon. will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton, North Carolina.
