Rose Mitchell Lakins Webber, age 91, a native of Grainger County and longtime resident of Morristown, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2003, at the Life Care Center of Jefferson City. She was a member of the Sunrise Baptist Church in Grainger County. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Emma Mitchell; husband, Fred Webber; son, Kenneth Mitchell; and grandson, Frankie Mitchell. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen West Storm; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Dot Lakins of Strawberry Plains; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Mitchell of Corryton; grandchildren and spouses, Fred and Bobbie West, Robert “Tate” West, Carolyn and Michael Kuykendall, Kathy and Tim McGinnis, all of Jefferson City, Barbara and Allen Sellers, Brenda and Larry Jones, Doris and Larry Duck, all of Rutledge, Chris Miller of Corryton and Linda Hipshire of Morristown; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, June 30, at Smith Funeral Home. Interment
was held Tuesday, July 1, in Sunrise Church cemetery with Rev. Jack Hipshire conducting the service. Smith Funeral Home, Rutledge, was in charge of arrangements.
Beverly D. Boles
Beverly D. Boles, age 46, of Knoxville, formerly of Kodak, died suddenly Friday, August 1, 2003 at her home. She was a member of Kodak United Methodist Church and was a graduate of Maury High School, Class of 1974. She is survived by her mother, Maxine Nease Boles of Knoxville; sisters, Dottie (Chester) Reneau of Dandridge, Vickie Ansell of Tittusville, Florida; brother, George Boles of Texas. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the Shannon Memorial Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 1025, Dandridge, TN 37725. Maxine Nease Boles
Maxine Nease Boles, age 74, of Knoxville, formerly of Kodak, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2003, at Life Care Center of Jefferson City. She was a member of Kodak United Methodist Church and was retired from Shoney's Restaurants following 30 years of service. She is preceded in death by her parents, L.B. and Nell Hensley Nease and daughter, Beverly Boles, (August 1, 2003). She is survived by her daughters, Dottie (Chester “Cody”) Reneau of Dandridge, Vickie Ansell of Tittusville, Florida; son, George Boles of Burleson, Texas; grandchildren, Jason Reneau, Cellia Ansell, Courtney Boles, Shandra Parker and Megan Abigail Boles; brothers, James Q. Marie Lambdin Brady, passed away Friday, August 1, 2003 after an extended illness. She was a lifelong member of Rutledge Baptist Church and a former employee of Smith Drug Store. She is preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Lulu Needham; son, John “Petey” Lambdin; sisters, Lorene Skinner, Sonya Lynch, and Kay Jones and brother, Glenn Needham. She is survived by her husband, John P. Brady of Rutledge; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Jerry Morgan of Strawberry Plains; grandsons, Justin Morgan of Dandridge and Travis Lambdin of Rutledge; granddaughter and husband, Whitney and Rodney Stansel of Jefferson City; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Johnny Bunch of Knoxville; sister, June Levine of Warm Springs, Georgia; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.P and Betty Needham of Madisonville and Terry and Gladys Needham of Morristown; several nieces and nephews. Annie B. Coffey
Annie B. Coffey, age 90, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2003, at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare Systems. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman L. Coffey; son, James Coffey; grandson, Leslie Hodge. She is survived by her son, Charles Coffey of Morristown; daughter, Doris Hodge of Morristown; daughter-in-law, Sybol Coffey of Woolwine, Virginia; grandsons, Michael “Whitey” Hodge and wife, Lisa of Gulfport, Mississippi, Gary Hodge of Morristown and Michael Coffey and wife, Trisha of Strawberry Plains; granddaughters, Vivian Hodge of Morristown, Pam Harmon and husband, Brad of Knoxville, Lisa Coffey of Boston, Massachusetts, Sharon Flader and husband, Dean of Elk River, Minnesota, Jean Ann Stookey and husband, Joe of Lebanon, Ohio, Barbara Eddy and Rick of Eugene, Oregon; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. James S. “Jim” Eldridge
James S. “Jim” Eldridge, age 74, of White Pine, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2003, at Morristown Hamblen Hospital. Jim was a member of French Broad Church of the Brethren and was a retired carpenter and electrician. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Pleasant (Joab) & Josie Eldridge; one brother and six sisters. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Vola Gann Eldridge; daughters, Linda (Lacy) Guinn of Talbott, Teresa (Billy) Cody of White Pine; grandchildren, Jack (Michelle) Cody, George (Amy) Cody and Dennis Gunter, Jr.; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Betty Eldridge of White Pine; sister, Joann Cody and Maggie Burger, both of Dandridge; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Shirley Fortney and Sonny Carpenter. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 6, at 11 a.m. at the French Broad Church of the Brethren with Rev. Ron Wine conducting the service. Interment

Mr. Richard Wray Estes
Mr. Richard Wray Estes, age 63, of Limestone, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2003 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Estes was a native of Washington County and son of the late Richard Earl & Mary Alice Shipley Estes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Estes was preceded in death by one brother, John Estes in 1972. He was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church. Mr. Estes was an insurance agent with Bible Insurance Agency in Morristown and Jefferson City. He also had been employed by Clinchfield Railroad. He served on the Chamber of Commerce in Morristown in many capacities. He was very active in the Toys for Tots campaign where he received national awards for pioneering new fund raising methods. He was an active member of the Morristown Kiwanis Club, and was active in Morristown education. He was a member of the Washington College Academy Board of Trustees in recent years. Mr. Estes believed in giving back to his community. He is survive by his wife, Martha Nell Smith Estes, of the home; two daughters & son in law, Alice Wray “Missy” Estes Hayes and husband Stephen of Talbott, and JoDe Estes of Hot Springs Arkansas; grandchildren, Ryan Patrick Estes, Mya Grace Hayes, both of Talbott, and Edan Kai Estes-Lumpkin of Hot Springs, Arkansas; sister, Priscilla E. Sarvadi of Johnson City; one half-sister, Barbara Hall of Litchfield, Kentucky; one step daughter, one step-son, and three step-grandchildren and three special nieces. He leaves behind four special pets and beloved friends and neighbors. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 9, 2003 at the Salem Presbyterian Church with Rev. She was a member of the Dumplin Baptist Church and was retired from the Standard Knitting Mills. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pink and Victoria Bailey Lindsey; brother, Lonas Lindsey and fiancee, Joe Cate. She is survived by her nieces, Barbara (Kenneth) Suttles, July (Donavon) Fox, and Donna (Donnie) Suttles; sister-in-law, Anna Ruth Lindsey; several great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins. Mrs. Ocie Greene Malone
Mrs. Ocie Greene Malone, age 78, of Johnson City, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, August 1, 2003, at Johnson City Medical Center following a recent illness. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Malone was a very active member of North Johnson City Baptist Church. She was responsible for organizing numerous Girl Scout troops in Memphis, Centerville, TN, and Bristol. She is preceded in death by her parents Arthur Ruben & Ocie Burns Greene; daughter, Dianne Lynn Oliver and two brothers, Arthur Greene (her twin brother) and Ed Greene. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dana R. Malone of Johnson City; daughter & son-in-law, Patricia Malone & Larry D. Hatmaker of New Market; son & daughter-in-law, Rick & Nancy Hopkins Malone of Johnson City; sisters, Evelyn Foster & Ruth McDaniel, both of Knoxville; brother, Jack L. Greene of Florida; granddaughters, Andrea Bowers, Audrey Hughes, and Tara Young; grandsons, Danny W. McCampbell, Keith W. McCampbell, Kelly S. Oliver, Carl W. Malone, and Craig A. James Robert Pack, age 77, of Dandridge, passed away Monday, August 4, 2003, after a lengthy illness. He was a member and deacon of Central Heights Baptist Church of Dandridge. He retired after 32 years from CFW Construction Company of Fayetteville. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Bertha Pack; sisters, Thelma Wheatley, Mary Elizabeth Russell and Lurah Jones. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margaret Wallace Pack; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Gary Jones, Carolyn and Rick Nelson, Virginia and Dennis Teal and Lisa and Fred Pate; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Joyce Cassady, John and Debra Kiely; several nieces and nephews; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. services will be held Wednesday, August 6, at 1:30 p.m. at Lynnhurst cemetery with Rev. Sam Hinchey and Rev. Frank McCarter conducting the service. The family will receive friends from 12-1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home before graveside services at the cemetery.
