Jesse H. Bishop, Jr., age 76, of Talbott, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2003. He was a member of Talbott Baptist Church and was retired after 30 years from U.S Steel in Jefferson City. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hurd and Bertha Hurst Bishop. He is survived by his wife, Louise Davis Bishop; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Pauline and Hugh Cornwell, Fred and Henri Mae Bishop, Juanita Wester, Marie B. McCoig, Lee and Kathleen Bishop, Jane and Raymond Skelton, Ray and Roberta Bishop; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 4, at 8 p.m. at Stubblefield Funeral Home with Rev. Hubert Bunch conducting the service. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2 in Jefferson Memorial Gardens for interment icon services. Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 1, from 6-8 p.m. prior to funeral services. Stubblefield Funeral Home, Morristown, is in charge of arrangements.

Nannie Belle Hudson Cronin
Nannie Belle Hudson Cronin, age 95, of Dayton, Ohio, formerly of White Pine, passed away Friday, June 20, 2003. She was of the Church of God faith. She is preceded in death by her former husband and father of her children, William J. Hoggard. She is survived by her sons, James Hoggard and Herman Hoggard and wife, June; daughters, Elizabeth Carroll, Annie Bilderback and husband, Donald, Mary Bell and husband, Richard and Bobbie Sempier and husband, Richard; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 26, at Mayes Mortuary with Rev. Billy Shelton conducting the service. Interment icon was held in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Mayes Mortuary, Morristown, was in charge of arrangements.

Betty Jo Johnson
Betty Jo Johnson, age 62, passed away Monday, June 23, 2003, at her home. She was a member of the Way of the Cross Church in White Pine. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Harris and Arnie Robert Harris; daughter, Linda Earlene Johnson; brother, Ruben Harris; sisters, Pauline, Alma and Mary Jane Harris. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Steve) Hubbard of New Market; sons, Charlie (Rose) Grooms of Morristown and James A. (Judy) Grooms of Mooresburg; brothers, Claude Harris of Whitesburg and Paul Harris of Sneedville; sisters, Ollie Johnson of Sneedville, Martha Fowler of Harrogate, Claudine Williams of Russellville and Norma Dobson of Morristown; grandchildren, Brandon Hubbard, Monica Hubbard, Destiny Groom, Dedra Ray, Dana Ray and Brittany Tilson; great-grandchild, Landon Hubbard; several nieces and nephews and very special friend, Paul Swafford of Dandridge. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 26 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Napier, Rev. Jason Lemka and Rev. Jack Greene conducting the service. Interment icon followed in Gallahon cemetery in Sneedville. Westside Chapel Funeral Home, Morristown, was in charge of arrangements.

Bill McKee
Bill McKee, age 59, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2003, at his home in Dandridge. He was the founder and owner of Valley Electric & Mechanical Inc. of Knoxville. He is preceded in death by his father, Glen McKee; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Anna Mae Burchfield; infant sister, Janice Ruth McKee. He is survived by his wife, Iva Lee McKee; daughter, Jacinda Rae McKee of Knoxville; mother, Pauline McKee; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ted and Pearl McKee, Glenn “Bud” and Marie McKee, Steve and Brenda McKee, Paul and Vickie McKee and Randy McKee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Frank Teague, Deb and Charles Barnes, Bobby Joe and Dennis Denson and Ann Melson; sisters, Laverne Latham and Brenda Sullivan, all of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, June 30, at Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Ted McKee and Rev. Bud McKee conducting the service. Interment icon will be held Tuesday, July 1, at 11 a.m. in the Old Chillhowee cemetery. Smith Mortuary, Maryville, is in charge of arrangements.

Hazel Larrance McNabb
Hazel Larrance McNabb, age 88, of New Market, passed away Friday, June 27, 2003. She was a member of New Market Baptist Church and retired from the Standard Knitting Mill. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rubel Loy; parents; three brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, William Homer McNabb; sisters, Nina Seals and Marjorie Nash; brothers and wife, Johnny and Nada Larrance and Horace Larrance, all of New Market; several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff at Life Care Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 29, at Fielden Funeral Home with Rev. J.W. Taylor and George Johnson conducting the service. Interment icon was held Monday, June 30, in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Fielden Funeral Home, New Market, was in charge of arrangements.

Thomas Franklin Shipley
Thomas Franklin Shipley, age 87, of Dandridge, passed away Friday, June 27, 2003, at Jefferson City Health and Rehab Center following an extended illness. He was a retired farmer and farm machinery mechanic of Jefferson County. He is preceded in death by his wife, Asilee Shipley; son, Boyd “Bo” Shipley; daughter, Carry Lou Chandler and granddaughter, Angela Chandler. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Pete Shipley, Sam and Kay Shipley, Steve and Jessilene Shipley, all of Dandridge; sisters, Mildred Buckle of Greenville and Jo Ann Russell of Dandridge; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. Graveside interment icon services were held Monday, June 30, in Hebron cemetery. Farrar Funeral Home, Dandridge, was in charge of arrangements.

Princess Delores Thomas
Princess Delores Thomas, age 63, of Strawberry Plains, passed away Friday, June 27, 2003, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center following a long battle with breast cancer. She was a member of Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church and a retired employee of Magnavox Corporation, after more than 20 years of loyal service. She is preceded in death by her step-father, John Greenwood; father, Charles Gillenwaters and sister-in-law, Audrey Gillenwaters. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ross Thomas, Sr. of Strawberry Plains; daughter and son-in-law, Ranota and Reginald Hall of Durham, North Carolina; sons and daughters-in-law, Ross and Carmen Thomas, Jr. of Knoxville, Ralph and Amy Thomas of Greensboro, North Carolina; grandchildren, Andrew and Mary Rose Hall, Delaney and David Thomas, and Jessica and Jacob Thomas; mother, Kathryn Greenwood of Boise, Idaho; brothers, Charles Gillenwaters of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Gregory Greenwood of Boise, Idaho; sisters, Carmen, Madeline and Shelia Greenwood of New Jersey; sisters-in-law, Reba McBee of Strawberry Plains and Nina Moore of Detroit, Michigan; several devoted and loving friends and relatives and caregivers. Funeral services were held Sunday, June 29, at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Maxey conducting the service. Interment icon followed in Eastview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the National Cancer Institute, Building 31, Room 11A16, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Maryland, 20892. Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, was in charge of arrangements.

Stella Mae Allen
Stella Mae Allen, age 85, of Talbott, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2003 at her home. She was a member of Cedar Hill Church of God. She was a retired nurse. She is preceded in death by her parents, Florence and William Raines; husband, Hollen Allen; sisters, Sue Davis, Faye Peoples, Ethel Allen, Lena Allen, Ruby Pierce and Jessie Harrell; brothers, Harley Raines, Howard Raines and Horace Raines and son-in-law, Eddy Cody. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Cody; sister, Leona Pettigrew; grandson, Allen Cody and wife, Shondra; granddaughter, Holly Epps and husband, Brad; great-granddaughters, Candace and Kaitlyn Cody; several nieces and nephews; special sitters, Nell Cody, Mattie Raines, Charlotte Horner and Brenda Lovin. Funeral services were held Monday, June 30, at Cedar Hill Church of God with Rev. Keith Livingston and Rev. Sam Youngblood conducting the service. Graveside interment icon services were held Tuesday, July 1, in Sunderland cemetery. Mayes Mortuary, Morristown, was in charge of arrangements.

Jimmie Case, Jr.
Jimmie Case, Jr., age 36, of New Market, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2003, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville from complications for an aneurysm. He was a faithful member of Eastmoore Church of God where he had been very active in the church music department. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Ruth Case. He is survived by his parents, Jim and Ethel Case of New Market; sister, Amy Gilliam of Jefferson City; brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Carla Case of New Market; paternal grandfather, Paul Case of New Market; maternal grandparents, Charlie and Margaret Devotie of Jefferson City; nephew, Joshua Gilliam; nieces, Whitney and Jessica Gilliam; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 1, at Mt. Vale Church of God in Talbott with Rev. Buddy Sweet, Rev. Cecil Bucy and Rev. Billy Baker conducting the service. Interment icon was held Wednesday, July 2, in Hills Union cemetery with Rev. Paul Devotie and Rev. Joe Devotie conducting the service. Farrar Funeral Home, Jefferson City, was in charge of arrangements.

Katherine E. Frazier
Katherine E. Frazier, age 85, of Jefferson City, formerly of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2003, in Jefferson City. She was a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Frazier. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Ann Frazier of Jefferson City; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Sam Dodd of Brentwood; grandchildren, Kimberly Frazier of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tracy and husband, Gregg Payne of Florida; great-granddaughter, Grace Payne; sister, Mallissa Thompson of Morristown. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, in the East Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Pastor Brenda Carroll conducting the service. Interment icon will follow in Grandview cemetery. Smith Mortuary, Maryville, is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Rainwater Hamilton
Ruth Rainwater Hamilton, age 94, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2003. She was born in Dandridge. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hal Hamilton; son, Jack Crowley; parents, Dr. and Mrs. Brad and Nancy Rainwater; sisters, Nell R. Mills and Mollie Chambers. She is survived by her son, Richard (Dick) Hamilton; niece, Mary Nell Walker of Knoxville; nephew, Ralph Chambers of Maryville. Graveside interment icon services were held in Marietta, Georgia. Keith A. Hannah, age 41, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2003, at Morristown Hamblen Healthcare System. He is preceded in death by his father, Clifford Hannah, Sr. and sister, Carolyn Bradley. He is survived by his wife, Connie Hannah; sons, Chris Whitt of Grainger County and Joshua Hannah of Morristown; daughter, Carrie Hannah, also of Morristown; mother, Nancy Hannah of Jefferson City; brothers, Bob Wilder and Gary Hannah of Morristown, Clifford Hannah, Jr. of Jefferson City, Larry Hannah of St. Clair and Mike Hannah of Bean Station; sisters, Ann Davis of Russellville, Gail Hannah of St. Clair, Ruth Lamb and Nina Stuart of Jefferson City; granddaughter, Tanaya Hannah; several nieces and nephews; lifelong friend, Jack Moore. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 1, at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Orbin Johnson and Rev. Horace Johnson conducting the service. Interment icon followed the services. Westside Chapel Funeral Home, Morristown, was in charge of arrangements.
