Mildred Kimball
Mildred Montague Genevieve 'Tweet' Kimball, a former Chattanoogan and noted preservationist who operated a large cattle ranch in Colorado which she made into a public park, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999.
The body is at the Andrews, Caldwell, Gibson Funeral Home at Castle Rock, and a viewing and memorial service is to be held early next week.
A memorial service will be held at the ranch on June 18 - her birthday.
William Kreis
William Joseph 'Joe' Kreis of East Ridge died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, in a local hospital. He was 69.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Chattanooga National cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
Carrie McCalla
Carrie Mae McCalla died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999 in an area health care facility. She was 80.
She was a Baptist.
Survivors include four daughters, Anita Adkins and Linda Jean Steele, Chattanooga, Carole Sue Ramsey, Hartselle, Ala., and Brenda Joyce Johnson, Ringgold, Ga.; two sisters, Shirley Davis, Gilbert, Ariz., and Faye Davis, Colonial Heights, Va.; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home Dodds Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Kelton Williams and the Rev. Alan Russell officiating.
Burial will be in the Ebenezer Baptist Church cemetery in Ringgold.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Maxine Melton
Maxine Patrick Melton, of Chesterfield Township, Mich., and formerly of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, in Detroit, Mich. She was 69.
She was a native of McMinnville, Tenn., and had resided in Fort Oglethorpe prior to moving to Michigan.
She had attended the Rossville Church of God Prophecy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Melton, and her mother, Reecie Patrick.
Survivors include two daughters, Hilda Fay Cagle, Chesterfield, and Connie Smith, Clinton Township, Mich.; one son, Raymond Melton, Terra Verda, Fla.; two sisters, Diane Jackson, Chickamauga, Ga., and Darlene Miller, Lebanon, Tenn.; four brothers, G.L. Patrick, Spencer, Tenn., Carl Patrick, McMinnville, Tenn., William Patrick, Perry, Ohio, and Gerald Patrick, Russellville, Ky.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe with the Rev. G.L. Patrick officiating
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family will receive friends Sunday after 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rogers Jess 'R.J.' McGill Jr. of East Lake died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, at his home. He was 75.
Services will be today at 3:30 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell and the Rev. Jim Gibson officiating.
Burial will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Chattanooga National cemetery.

Bernice Munford died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, in a local nursing home. She was 86.

Floyd Nelson
Floyd Richard Nelson died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999. He was 96.
He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include five nieces, Evelyn Thornhill, Mary Mathis, Margaret Otis, Mary Nelson, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Patricia Green, Virginia; and five nephews, Richard Branford, Bobby Jack Mathis, and the Rev. Floyd Mathis, Chattanooga, Ezra Mathis, Kentucky., and Elder Ernest Mathis, California.
Funeral services will be today at 1 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Edmund Lockhart and the Rev. Floyd Mathis officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Garden.
