Zelah Norris
Zelah W. Norris of Red Bank died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, in an area health care facility. She was 93.
She was a native of Fyffe, Ala., and was retired from Signal Knitting Mill.
She was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church and Amity Sunday school class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Burnett Norris, one son, Leon Norris, and one daughter, Katherine Dietrich.
Survivors include one daughter, Tessie Thompson, Red Bank; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home, Coulter Chapel, with Bill Harvey officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Bill Nuckolls
Robert William 'Bill' Nuckolls, a resident of East Ridge and an assistant funeral director at Chattanooga Funeral Home, died Friday Jan. 15, 1999. He was 72.
He was a World War II veteran in the United States Air Force and was employed at Chattanooga Funeral Home for the past nine years.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel, with Dr. Ronnie Mitchell and the Rev. P.D. Booth officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the East Chapel.

Joe Randles
Joe David Randles died Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 60.
He was a native of South Pittsburg, Tenn., and attended Tennessee Tech.
He was a court reporter in the Chattanooga area for 35 years and the last 28 years with the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit. He graduated from Steno-Type Institute of Washington, D.C.
He was a member of the National, Tennessee and Georgia Certified Shorthand Reporters associations and was on the Board of the Georgia Certified Court Reporters Association. He was also on the Board of Directors of Hutcheson Medical Center.
Survivors include a son, Michael Randles, Shelbyville, Tenn.; a daughter, Mary Alice Curtis, Eagleville, Tenn.; a sister, Jennie Baker, Chattanooga; a brother, Jack Randles, Hixson; and a grandson.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel, with Judge Ralph Hill officiating.
Burial will be in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cornelia Russey
Cornelia Russey of Signal Mountain died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, at her home. She was 84.
She was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist and was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Russey.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty R. Miller, Harrison, Tenn., and Joan R. Dison, Hendersonville, Tenn.; a sister, Hattie Jane Douglass, Palm City, Fla.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Forest Hills cemetery with Georgia Eastman officiating.
Arrangements are by Chattanooga Funeral Home, West Chapel. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Sharon Sasso
Sharon Diane Cotter Sasso, a native of Chattanooga, died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, in Bay Shore, N.Y.. She was 56.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Ernest Cotter and Helen Thompson Cotter; grandparents, Will and Myrtle Seay Cotter, and George and Georgia Thompson.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Sasso, Bay Shore; two sons, Scott Sasso, Brentwood, N.Y., and Thomas Sasso, Vista, Calif,; a sister, Robin L. Bodiford, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and her stepfather, Zack Bailey, Fort Lauderdale.
Burial was Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, at Lauderdale Memorial Park in Fort Lauderdale.

Thelma Goodwin Stokes of St. Louis, formerly of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999.

Reece D. Williams died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 58.
He was a member of the Orchard Knob Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army.

Susan Williams of Hixson died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999, in a local hospital. She was 36.

George Winston
George Edgar Winston of Fort Oglethorpe died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, in an area hospital. He was 77.
He was the Fort Oglethorpe mayor pro tem for four years, and also served on the Fort Oglethorpe Planning Commission for eight years. He also served as a city councilman for 12 years.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home on Battlefield Parkway in Fort Oglethorpe with the Rev. Richard Byers and the Rev. Glenn Boatner officiating.
Burial will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.

Gustavus Wood
Gustavus Adolphus Wood III of Nashville and formerly of Chattanooga died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999. He was 57.
A former Chattanooga lawyer, former president of the Chattanooga Bar Association and a veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Wood was the son of the late Alma Russell and Gustavus A. Wood Jr.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. in Forest Hills cemetery.
Visitation will be today from noon to 2 p.m. at Wann Funeral Home.

Richard Brown
TEN MILE, Tenn. - Richard Keith Brown died Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, in a hospital there. He was 26.
He was employed as a CNA by several area nursing homes and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Summer Brown, Niota, Tenn.; mother and stepfather, Faye and Harold Williams; father and stepmother, Wayne and Mary Brown, all of Englewood, Tenn; four brothers, Wayne Brown, Athens, Ga., Ron Brown, Cleveland, Tenn., Tracy Brown, Englewood, and David Brown, Ten Mile; stepbrother, Doug Williams, Englewood; two sisters, Terri Carney, Birchwood, Tenn., and Frieda Waller, Englewood; stepsister, Marshann Blankenship, Cleveland; and grandmother, Oleta Lunsford, Athens.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Curly Wattenbarger officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur, Tenn.
Visitation will be today 5 to 9 p.m. at Ziegler Funeral Home.
